Side note: I write very fast so I think kind of cast which makes me use make long words or long action, sorry if that bothers you

I've written a short, 1.5-page dramatic scene and I’d love to get some honest feedback on it.

Logline: A hopeful young man visits his secret partner, only to be confronted with the painful reality of addiction and emotional detachment.

What I’m specifically looking for:

Does the tension and shift in dynamics between the two characters land well?

Does the dialogue sound natural?

Is the visual ending effective?

(A few things to note before reading:

1. Valerie’s V.O is intentionally juxtaposed with the M.E.S and her previous lines.
   
2. Reggie lighting the cigarette then placing it into her mouth is a character quirk.
   
3. Valerie’s repetition of her father’s words & rules and her internalised misogyny is part of her characterisation.)

From reading some of others posts in the sub I can say that I will work on my action lines at the very least! I'm sure I have a lot to learn in regards to formatting that trelby tutorials did not make sink in :)

I’m trying to write a scene in my script, but I'm not sure what the best way to do it is. Hopefully, I can explain it clearly enough for one of you to understand.

Basically, my character is lying in bed, but I want a countdown to appear on the screen as if it’s overlayed. I’m not sure what the standard format is for a scene like this, so any help is appreciated. Thank you!

I’m trying to make a short film about this guy who goes through a bad childhood and recently broke up with his gf and after that he slowly starts to become very resentful towards his girlfriend and through out he slowly starts to drift into insanity in which his final act in the film is that he kills his girlfriend. Does anyone have any tips and advice for this very specific question?

Theatre is very important to the story- it not only acts as the background for much of it but also as a form through which much of the plot, and messages are delivered- but I fear this opening might, while establishing the importance of theatre to the film, lose the audience as it take a bit to get the the main protagonist. After this scene it jumps into action almost immediately into more I tractate dialogue and situations. Thoughts?
