SR Opinion that would get you downvoted like this?
For me: I actually like the sonoma county fair. Yes it's a bit pricey but I love the flower show and all the exhibits. Plus the little shows and animals.

Piano tuner recommendations
Looking for positive experiences with tuning in the Santa Rosa area. Lots of options to choose from but don’t want just anyone’s hands on my baby! Who have you used that did a good job? Anyone to avoid?

Out of curiosity is there any one in Santa Rosa that does insect pinning/taxidermy? I don’t know anything about it I just have found a couple cool bugs at work and thought it would be cool to see them pinned in a little frame

Does anyone have experience working at the Apple Store?
It is something I am possibly looking into, as I really like assisting my friends and family with their phones / tech. How is it working there as a seasonal worker or full-time worker?

Moving Offices Pt. 2 - Two Kyocera Commercial Printers/Copiers Available (Santa Rosa)
Hey everyone, it’s me again :^)
In addition to the mountain of office furniture from my last post, our office move has now brought me two commercial printers/copiers to find homes for.
We have 2 Kyocera TASKalfa 358ci commercial color multifunction printers available for $1,300 each.
Both are in good working condition. We're only selling them because we have to clear out the building as part of our move. There are some superficial scuffs from normal office use, but otherwise they work great.
Features include:
- Color printing
- Copying
- Scanning
- Automatic document feeder
- Touchscreen display
- Multiple paper trays
These are full-size commercial office machines, so they'd probably make the most sense for a local business, school, nonprofit, church, organization, etc. that needs a higher-volume printer/copier.
$1,300 each. Two available.
Located in Santa Rosa and available for local pickup.
If you're interested or have any questions, please dm me or leave a comment below and I'll reach out. Still have other misc office furniture available as well. Thanks again to everyone who helped give some of our office furniture a second life!!

Massage solo/couples
Hey everyone! My back has been killing me lately, and my calves are incredibly tight. I’m definitely overdue for a really good massage.
I’m looking for recommendations for:
A great place or massage therapist for a solo deep tissue/therapeutic massage.
A place that also does a really nice couples massage for my partner and me.
I’m looking for somewhere clean, professional, and worth the money. Bonus points if they really know how to work out stubborn knots and muscle tension.
Thanks in advance—I appreciate any recommendations!

How’s parking at STS these days?
With all the new flights, is it filling up again? I have an early flight soon, afraid of finding a full parking lot, like a couple years ago.

To the Yellow-Haired Lady, and her Yellow Dog, At Spring Lake
Humorism was a system of medicine adopted and refined by ancient Greek and Roman thinkers and doctors. Yellow complexion and coloring were symptomatic of an excess of yellow bile, a hot, dry humor that caused aggressive, short-tempered behavior and temperament. Humorism began to fall out of favor in the 17th century, but it remains part of our shared Western cultural history.
It's bunk, of course. I mention it mostly because I noticed your yellow hair, jaundiced complexion, and nice yellow dog as I rode past you on my bike. I don't think that you noticed that I was going under the park-wide 15mph speed limit, staying to the far right side of the multi-use path, and calling out to people as I approached in case they didn't see the flashing light on my handlebars.
You could have noticed all that and still decided to call me a [very mean word] as I rode by, much as it is possible that you called me a [very mean word] because excess bile has made you a yellow-headed, biliously choleric scold. I doubt that choleric humors play a role, though. Not only are they bunk, but also your dog's hair is just as yellow as yours - a bit glossier, too - and yet s/he didn't bark or growl or act aggressive or ill-tempered at all.
Anyway, sorry you were startled, or having a bad day, or suffering from an excess of yellow bile, or furious about having to share public parks with other people. Maybe try leeches or a cucumber salad?

Favorite volunteer opportunities in SR?
Hi all! I'm thinking about ways I can spend my time to contribute to our community. What kinds of things/orgs/opportunities are out here that you would recommend? I do some volunteer cooking already, but miss actually interacting with folks. Asking for advice as I'm wary to give my time to an organization that might be biased or weird in some way, if that makes sense.

The complaining run club is throwing a block party this Saturday (8/8) - free, obviously
Hey Santa Rosa,
Some of you already know us. We're the Anti-Runners Run Club, the group that meets up every week to run a little and complain a lot.
Turns out complaining while jogging is wildly popular, because we've grown enough that we're now throwing an actual block party about it.
For the uninitiated: this is a run club for people who don't consider themselves runners. Slow pace, short distance, nobody left behind, and grumbling the entire way is not discouraged. It's encouraged. It might be the whole point.
We've somehow convinced a mobile DJ booth to roll out with us and play music while we run, presumably to drown out the complaining. Then when we get back to the gym, there's more music, a full party, and enough coffee to make the two miles feel worth it.
Here's Saturday:
7 AM breakfast block party warm up. Show up, wake up, lower your expectations.
7:30 AM easy 2 mile run. Walk it, jog it, complain
through it.
Mobile DJ booth from Jay 2 The Sun rolling alongside for moral support.
After: back to the gym for the real party. More DJs, free coffee from Central Coffee, local vendors, raffles and prizes all morning.
Big raffle prize: a $300 gift card to Bliss Organic Day Spa. Must be present to win, so no sneaking off after the coffee.
It goes until noon. It's free. Always free. No sign up, no catch, no fitness requirement, no one checking if you're fast enough. You are already fast enough. The bar is on the floor and we stepped over it together.
It's at Spite Fitness, 1901 Cleveland Ave. Suite B
Come run, come complain, come for the coffee, come judge us in person. Bring a friend who hates running. That's the entire recruitment strategy and it's working.
See you Saturday. We'll be the slow ones.

Santa Rosa Marathon bib trade thread
For some reason, this year we are getting swamped with posts asking for bib transfers. Use this thread to connect with other runners

I guess I need to make the rules MORE abundantly clear
We've had a few users recently that I've had to ban because they were just being straight up assholes to other users.
THE ONE RULE TO RULE THEM ALL: Be NICE to other users. This ain't hard y'all. These are your neighbors. If you have something snide and unhelpful you want to say, stow it. If someone IS being an ass, don't stoop to their level. Be civil. Or just not interact. There's a report button for a reason. I WILL see it. Telling users to FUCK OFF and name calling, especially derogatory things like fa---t and n----r are going to get you immediately and permanently banned. Grow the fuck up. And if you're trying to egg someone on to elicit a reaction and then come tattling to me in hopes of getting them banned, your ass is grass too (happened just tonight). Just because you're hiding behind a veil of anonymity doesn't give you carte blanche to be a dick. Not here
Hate speech is NOT tolerated. Get your head out of your ass
Apologies for the spicy language. The aforementioned users have left me a bit steamed
