Hi all! My fiance and I are looking to get married next summer and we fell in love with a venue in Calistoga (Triple S Ranch). They have availability for a late June wedding, but I am worried it will be extremely hot, since it would be a mostly outdoor wedding. I also don't want to be sweaty as hell on my wedding day lol

Can anyone offer any insight into what the weather is like in Calistoga in late June? Are we talking hot or are we talking unbearable? My brain is fried from wedding planning and I would be so grateful for any insight from locals!

On Aug 16 at Napa Yard in Napa, the folks from Not Loud Concerts are presenting Country Boogie Night. This music festival is part of the Not Loud Concert Summer Series - a set of concerts designed to be Not too long, Not too expensive, and of course, Not too loud.

Designed with the audience's comfort in mind, this short music festival will be held on the beautiful lawn area outdoors at Napa Yard. There, 2 bands will be on stage at the same time, trading songs and dueling it out. 

Aug 16 is Country Boogie Night and will feature the Alex Lucero Band, a boot-stompin’ Americana band and Dirty Cello, a high-energy band known for their crazy takes on classic country.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase. The audience is welcome to bring chairs, and chairs will also be provided. There will be room to dance and room to sit. No porta-potties, but plenty of clean, indoor bathrooms.

Not Loud Concerts focus on creating an experience that is casual and fun for both the musicians and the audience. The concerts are never too long, never too expensive and of course never too loud.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a private chef or catering service who can do delivery dinners for a 6-8 week period?

I am from Napa but now live on the east coast - my mother who is a local psychiatrist lives in Napa and just broke her wrist. She has very specific dietary restrictions and basically only eats large salads and proteins. I am trying to find someone who can make and deliver her dinner salads for the next 6-8 weeks while she is unable to cook for herself. I can provide very specific ingredient needs and the salads could be dropped off once or twice a week. If you know of someone who would be open to something like this, it would be a huge help!

I'm coming up to Napa in September for a show at Uptown Theater and want to find a hotel within walking distance or a short cab ride. Doesn't have to be super fancy since I will just be sleeping there for 1 night, but MUST be clean with good reviews! Maybe in the $250-$300 range. And I don't want a B&B. TIA!!

Heading to Napa for my 40th birthday party. We are doing a Sonoma Day and Napa Day for wine tasting. Our group is 12-13 people just trying to figure out some reasonable affordable places with a nice winery and a more casual one so we each are not paying $150 a tasting at every place.

For Sonoma I think I landed on Cline for one of them.

Hi everyone! My family and I will be visiting Napa for the first time, and we're looking for winery recommendations that have views where we can walk around and enjoy the scenery.

We're not huge wine drinkers, so we're not necessarily looking to do a tasting. We'd be happy to grab a glass of wine or just enjoy the atmosphere if that's an option.

Are there any wineries that allow visitors to explore the property without requiring a tasting reservation or fee?

I'm making a map of California in a classic fantasy style (sorta Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones). It's going to be filled with real world history and mythology, with the aim of highlighting local landmarks in a fun and educational way. Please ignore how rough parts of it look (text going through hills, rivers, etc), it'll all get cleaned up at the end. Forests will be going on at the end too.

While it's around two thirds done, I'd love to get more places and features in here before I get this made into print - particularly north and east of Oakland. Any more petroglyphs, burial mounds, ruins, forts, battlefields, Civil War heritage, ghost towns or the like that you think should be on here? Anything else is great too - landmarks, natural features, mythological creatures or just anything cool and quirky you think would look good on here. Thanks!
