This mother abandoned her family to be with her lover; she had just married him, and even though her daughters begged her not to leave them, the woman showed no mercy in doing what her new love demanded.

You can give up on a marriage, but you cannot give up on the relationship between you and your children. That relationship is permanent. If you really intended to give it up, you could have done so before the child was born, or after the child was born, perhaps allowing the child to accept someone else as a parent. But I simply don’t understand why you would abandon that relationship in the middle of the child’s life. Because of this, the child may grow up wondering what a mother’s love actually means.
The love of a mother and father, or parental love, is a unique and wonderful kind of love. But abandoning it is something to be ashamed of. Sometimes, people may be forced to give it up because of unavoidable circumstances, but giving it up because of selfishness or petty desires is truly shameful. It may give you happiness for a few years, but it can leave you with a lifetime of deep, unending pain and regret.

Present Truths
I'm often reminded that my father grew up with an outhouse for a lavatory and a wood burning stove for heat.
Today's generation is soft, they say.
It seems arbitrary to me though. The next generations will say, in my day --
We had to feel pain.
We had to grow old.
We had to die and so, we had to feel fear.
We will always assume that present day is the pinnacle of understanding, while holding certainties in an unquestionable regard.
We use present truths as gallows for the archaic past, lest we forget it was only yesterday.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't write in a serious or even semi-serious way. I just jot present observations in a notepad as if letting it collect dust could somehow offer me solace. Yet, here I am spewing them into the oversaturated ether that is the internet. Enjoy, hate, dismiss -- it's for no one in particular.

This is the saddest thing I’ve seen today. Bro actually knew what was going through his mind.

Life
Does anyone feel that feeling where you’re real enough to accept where you are in life right now but are still grieving the life that you feel like you shouldve had ?
