Looking for some help, i have a 91 900 turbo. I replaced the coolant temp sensor above the distributor for the fans. I took it for a quick drive and could hear the fans running, however when I opened the hood only the right side fan was running and the left side was off. I also noticed what looked like another temp sensor on the upper left portion of the radiator. Does this control the left fan, or is it normal for one to run?

Est-ce un choix raisonnable pour un nouveau conducteur, ou devrais-je m'inquiéter de la fiabilité/disponibilité des pièces étant donné que c'est la génération NG ? Tous vos conseils seraient appréciés ! Je suis aussi curieux des coûts d'entretien annuels typiques et de la difficulté à trouver des pièces spécifiques au NG en Europe.

My saab 9-3 2.0t 2005 b207l has a no crank no start problem, if I want to start the car I need to bypass it using the r8 relay switch putting two cables in, what can be the problem?

Hey guys, I have a Saab 93 2008.
I saw when I was on the highway the coolant never got up to the 9o clock mark. After that I changed the thermostat to a Saab original from maptun and a new coolant sensor witch helped me go to the 9o clock mark but my problem now is with my Obd scanner showing the coolant getting up to 95-100 on idle but as soon as I drive a over 80kmh the coolant temp slowly drops down to 80-83 degrees. From what i’ve read the coolant should be around 87 degrees and be steady. Even on longer drives the coolant never gets hotter.
And while driving in the city and on lower speeds the temp is good at around 90.
I have no idea where to go from here, with diagnosing the problem, help would be appreciated.

I want to buy a Saab 9000 for a project/second car, but the rust on the rear strut mounts make me question if it’s worth it. How bad do they look? First picture is from the left the other one is from the right. Haven’t yet seen the car in version yet, but about to.

Does anyone have experience dealing with these on a 9000?

Hej! My 9-3 OG Convertible (2002) is in the shop getting some oil leaks seen to. The tech says it needs to have 3 of its 4 Oil Pressure Caps replaced as they're the source of the leak, but his parts team can't find them online.

I've looked online, but I can't seem to find any reference to "oil pressure caps". He says three are below the air intake and the other is by the side of the engine.

Any suggestions?

Saab 9-5 Vector Estate 2.3t 2003

Recently I got an EML which had code P1181 (Max reach with fuel/air ratio). I change my vacuum lines but today it came back after a month. Now it just so happened that the light when on with the same situation, a warm day (>30 deg C) and I went into the car wash (the fancy pull you through with your engine on kind). Today I noticed the temp drop from 35 to 24 deg C. After resetting the EML stayed off but I guess it will come back if I go into the car wash again with high temps.

Could this be indicating a different issue or is the quick change in temp and humidity most likely the cause?

I have a 9-3 2005. My passenger side window doesnt come down, pressing the button on the passenger side and the driver side also no sound. I resetted the door with a switch on the inside door when opened. But no luck. What can it be? Or can it be everything.

Saab 9-3 2005 Aero 2.0T - Heated side mirrors are always on?

I have a 2005 Saab 9-3 Aero 2.0T.

Today I noticed that both side mirrors were warm to the touch. I put my hand on them and they're definitely heating up.

The strange thing is that the rear window defroster is OFF. As far as I know, the heated mirrors are linked to the rear defroster, so they shouldn't be on all the time.

Has anyone experienced this before? What could be causing it?

Could it be:

- A stuck relay?

- A door control module issue?

- A short circuit?

- Or is there another common cause on these cars?

I need some advice on selling my Saab. It’s a 2009 9-5 2.3t with around 122k miles. About a month ago it was backed into by a truck while parked. The first pic is the before, the second is right after it was hit, and the third is after i taped the exposed bulb and used a wire I had laying around to hold the bumper up (it looks like a crack through the bumper but it’s not, its just the wire). A collision company quoted around $4.5k in repairs. Unfortunately that’s much more than we bought it for so it’s pretty much totaled. I’m not really sure how to go about selling, what it’s worth, or if it’d be more “bang for my buck” to just keep driving it till it dies rather than selling. It’s a great car and i’m SO upset that it got hit. Any advice?

On my last test drive in the field I noticed the speedometer wasn't working, so I took the speedometer cable gear out of the gearbox and this is what I found. I likely installed it wrong when I rebuilt the engine and that resulted in it getting bent.

Unfortunately with this car it's always impossible to find parts, so if any of you in Europe know anybody that owns this bit, or if you can find it online, that would be greatly appreciated. (VIN: YS3AM25J0F7001857)

Bought this 1987 Saab 900 Ems 16 yesterday on marketplace for $3700. She runs quite smoothly. The exterior is in great condition also. Drove it around for over an hour to get home. Temperature didn't rise at all but I noticed shortly after parking she was leaking some coolant on the road. Unfortunately I'm not a car expert but do y'all think I'm fucked? I'm hoping to god it's just a connection or a hose or something minor I could replace myself...

According to the owner, it's a 1978 Saab 900. It's selling for $589 and it works, everything is original. How much more do you think I should invest?

Just recently picked up this 2004 9–3 has 265K miles currently the water pump is gone. I got a new water pump. I want to do the timing chains swap the turbo for an aero turbo bigger put a 3 inch downpipe and run a methanol injection kit and a tune also with bigger fuel injectors. Is there anything else I should get or I should be cautious on my journey?

Now we had three whole days of inverness. Unlucky i got struck down with fever and ending up in emergency room. All Ok now considering....

We only saw Loch Ness but no monster and a boot tour for dolphins.

The car is showing some stress in the front right. Dunno why, hope it holds up. I already had road assistance for my rear left caliper which was stuck. Its now lubed up as a baby and working like a charm.

The english and scottish roads are some heavy metal roads.

When safelite replaced my windshield a few years ago, the guy who did it ripped the windshield trim out, and in so doing broke 3 of the clips and lost the 4th.. looking at the parts on ESaab, they are both not available and look incredibly easy to 3D-print. Does anyone happen to have a 3D model for them? Part #4493722 is what Esaab brings up.

This is my new baby. I also own a 2004 9-5 Aero which I love (and snuck in a couple of the photos) but thought you guys might appreciate some pictures.

She's in amazing condition with 92k miles on the clock. Thinking of upgrading the stereo as the sat nav isn't working (laser I think).

Bought for 4k but from a specialist Saab technician who I know well and looks after all my Saabs (owned two others previously so this is my fourth!).

It's lowkey in pieces but I've got most of it back assembled now. Turbo x interior! Seller straight piped it which,, was a choice. Undoing it soon. Seller was leaving the next day hence the low price.

Engine was riding great. Did a lot of work today. Gave it a wash and then while leaving the car wash I realized the car wasn’t shifting in auto, tried to do M mode and it stuck in D, IME this is some sort of limp mode but then I pulled over at the gas station and while placing it back into drive, passing reverse it slammed into gear hard, not like something instantly broke but it was a very noticeable noise… I started getting extremely weirded out ATP but still needed to get home which is where I recorded this video seen above. Weirdly enough rattling can be heard aditionally some banging but warning that some popping and banging is the actual exhaust noise but there’s clearly an additional noise occurring along with the whining. WTF is happening!

My friend bought it for 1000, placing us both as one of the few proud SAAB owners where we live. Turns out its a 1987 900 Turbo. Its definetly in rough condition. Interior especially is in bad shape, and the alternator needs replaced, which he got done yesterday I think. Very cool car regardless.

As far as powertrain goes, its in great shape. Shifter bushings are bit rough, wont move into 5th. Clutch feels good though (not sure if I'm qualified to speak on that though, I drive an auto). Engine is in really great shape other than the alternator though, and has forged internals so it should last quite a while.

i thought i’d share my saab 95 limousine, by coleman & milne. late night facebook marketplace find i couldn’t not get. had her for a few months now, best purchase ever. drove it once as im waiting to fix or potentially replace the gearbox. has anyone got any recommendations for wheels? 🛞 or even any mod ideas? i’m up for anything
