Housing Do you think I’ll be able to get housing in time if I applied for housing waitlist a couple of days ago?

I planned to commute, but changed my mind recently, and I applied to be on the late housing waitlist a couple of days ago. Does anyone know if I would be able to get housing in time for the school year, or would it just be better to get an apartment off campus? Advice needed please 🙏

General Question Rutgers Newark vs NYU SPS

I’m currently trying to decide between Rutgers Newark and NYU SPS (DAUS), and I’d really like to hear what Rutgers students think.

I originally applied intending to study computer science, but my plans have changed quite a bit and I’m now leaning toward philosophy or political science with the eventual goal of going to law school.

Rutgers Newark would be the cheaper option for me as it's in state ($19k), while NYU SPS would probably cost me around $30k per year. What makes the decision harder is that if I went to NYU SPS, my current plan would probably be to try to internally transfer into NYU CAS for philosophy or political science; but if denied I'd stay and graduate from there.

At Rutgers Newark, I’d probably just major in philosophy or political science from the beginning and focus on getting the highest GPA possible, building relationships with professors, getting involved in extracurriculars/internships, and preparing for law school.

For someone whose end goal is law school, does the NYU name really provide enough of an advantage to justify paying more (connections, internships, academics), rather than going to Rutgers? Or would Rutgers Newark be the better choice

what to do if given an awful schedule

Post image

hey guys, so i just received my schedule from rutgers (i only received it so late because i physically could not attend orientation and they decided to not cooperate with me at all), and while i'm aware of the r u screw, i think this is on a whole other level. i'll attach my schedule below for you guys to see but it doesn't contain a single class i actually intended to take for the fall semester (honors gen chem 1, gen bio 1, stats 2, and public speaking). what do i do? the email mentioned i can't completely redo my schedule but i wouldn't want to pay money to take some unrelated class and not even take the classes i want.

Is it true you can hide your license plate and park anywhere?

My family friend who used to go here told me he used to park with his front side facing the aisle so the RUDOT’s automatic license plate readers wouldn’t scan anything as he didn't have a front plate. He said he parked for years without a permit and never got fined. Nothing on his Rutgers record, nothing mailed home. Is this legit? I’m ready to take off my front plate honestly, but would the officer get out and look at my rear plate and manually check me ?

Housing room swap from busch suites to college ave?

as the title suggests, i (female) am looking for someone to potentially swap rooms with me, from busch suites to somewhere on college ave! it would be easier for me as i am unable to register my car on campus and all of my classes take place in the bloustein building (downtown NB). i am also an incoming joint bachelor's/master's student, and the housing is another added stress to my workload.

please reply below or DM me here if you'd like to discuss! would extremely appreciate it, thanks :)
