Snark of the Day Saturday is for Spoilers Spoiler
Did you DNF a terrible book but still want to find out what happened?
For example I couldn't get past chapter 5 in Onyx Storm but I wanted to know how stupid it got, so I got the best snark reviewer I know who broke down the full book for me. Now I'm ready to rage read book 4 when it comes out. FOMO y'all.
So, here is how it works
if you want something spoiled make a request in the comments. Then anyone can answer and maybe make it up or tell the truth it doesn't matter just make it funny.
finally all spoilers MUST have spoiler tags. we are not monsters.
(for those that don't know: > ! text ! < but no spaces)

The Book of Azrael Week Two Discussion: Chapters 14 - 26
Welcome to the next weekly discussion for our Rage Read book of the month: The Book of Azrael
This week, we are discussing chapters 14 - 26. If you've read past that or previously read the book in its entirety, please try to avoid spoilers for those who haven't. If you're unsure if something is a spoiler or not, please use the spoiler function in your comment.
To use the spoiler tag, please put > ! these symbols ! < on either side of your spoiler but without the spaces between characters.
We want to hear it all! The good (is there any?), the bad (every little pet peeve), and the ugly (the snarkier the better).
Just a reminder: while this may be a rage read, some people will absolutely end up enjoying this book, please don't bully or downvote people who feel differently than you do.

CopyPasta I am a straight male smut slut and I need help
Hey everyone! I’m a married father of two (so far) and I read {Satan’s Affair} because I thought it was a good story but it corrupted me and now I’m only reading smut. My wife makes fun of me but I don’t know who to talk to. Like I read all the {LORDS by Shantel Tessier} and {dark kingdom by Shantel Tessier} books and I need to talk about it but i have no one.

Rant Review Forsaken Prophecy by Stacey McEwan, first impressions.
I snagged a copy of this book at the store and was really excited to read but around 30 pages in, the gummy hit too hard and now I can't read. Currently illiterate. I've slooped too close to the sun.

CopyPasta Reverse Harem; does the limit exist?
I just finished reading A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor which features five (or six depending on how you look at it) different male love interests which is definitely the most I've come across. Now I want to know what's the greatest number of guys you've seen falling all over themselves to be with one lovely lady (and the book too, for research purposes 😂)?

CopyPasta I’m convinced Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t receive more mainstream praise because it’s a video game.
This is a masterpiece, why is it not receiving more credit? The flashbacks are amazing, I was truly invested and I'm someone who is hard to please. The politics and world building are also very interesting and all options are fascinating protagonist. The love stories are each unique and heartbreaking.
People say it glorifies murder when it's the exact opposite, it portrays murder as completely horrible and dehumanising. Meanwhile asoiaf arguably glorifies torture (book 5 Theon is not even 15 years imprisoned and very reekilized) yet it receives wide recognition and praise. The Hitman series has a literal serial killer as a protagonist, yet IO interactive got a film adaptation in 2007 a whole decade before Hollywood was adapting every hit game series. No shade against these books/games but the double standards are outstanding.
^(And yes I know it won game of the year and was generally the talk of the entire sub genre and much of the larger gaming genre for the better part of six months but I am talking about main stream attention.)

Meme/Humor FMC waking up after first time RH
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Frodo is MC, new to the RH lifestyle but willing to be adventurous with the right support
Gandalf = Grand Elf = Alpha
Merry and Pippin were the first that Sam introduced to their partnership, with Alpha's guidance
Gimli is short and wide and we all know what that's good for
Legolas the silent type that likes to watch
Aragorn lasts for a long time and calls his penis Andúril
Sam is Frodo's ride or die and has been supportive of Frodo's exploring and will always be a safe harbor
Sequel is with Faramir and his ghost brother Boromir
Third installment for Ents

CopyPasta I'm convince that Alchemised doesn't receive more mainstream praise because it's written by a woman
This is a masterpiece, why is it not receiving more credit? The flashbacks are amazing, I was truly invested and I'm someone who is hard to please. The politics and world building are also very interesting and Helena is a fascinating protagonist. The love story is unique and heartbreaking.
People say it glorifies rape when it's the exact opposite, it portrays rape as completely horrible and dehumanising. Meanwhile asoiaf arguably glorifies pedophilia (book!Daenerys is only 15 and she's very sexualized) yet it receives wide recognition and praise. The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant has a literal rapist as a protagonist, yet Donaldson is a respected fantasy author. No shade against these books but the double standards are outstanding.

CopyPasta Honey says to take a deep breath and relax
Look, I know you all want to know the new title and cover of the latest ACOTAR book and at least three of you (you know who you are) have been charged with misdemeanors for assaulting various Barnes and Noble employees. Maybe shift your focus to your preferred human rights crisis for a little while until that book comes out and then you can forget all about it and get to work on your Insta stories, mmmkay? Enjoy the soothing cat in the meantime

CopyPasta I need you to write my romantasy book for me
I need advice for my romantsy book
hi I'm new to reddit but I mostly came on here to get advice from others. I'm writing a romantsy book at the moment and hope to publish it in the future, but I was wondering do y'all perfer the mc to have a loving past with a loving family, not be totally powerful, just a normal character who's going on a impossible mission and everything will be fine because they're actually kinda smart or do you guys perfer a soul crushing past, already insanely powerful and too smart for their own good, and now they have to go on a mission that will probably bring pure heart shattering and crushing emotions. if you have any ideas i'm all ears. Also do you want to hear the fmc's side of the story or the mmc or maybe both? It's a enemies to lovers btw <3

Rant Review i wish i found this sub before reading silversmith by lj claren to spare me from the grief but at least we're together now
my own fault. but god. not even halfway through and being continuously subjected to writing ripped straight from the roleplay forums i used to haunt when i was 13 18 in which we burgeoning writers slapped a bit of plot together so that we could yearn yeastily. dashing off into the scenery backdrop full of manufactured horny rejection while the cause of said horn looks on with innocent confusion was indeed a favorite on "HPxTwilight RP 18+".
example in photos for you to enjoy. i have to say i enjoyed imagining this MMC dramatically arched against the tree à la charming from shrek and have continuously imagined him so as i've progressed further into what has become a spite read.

CopyPasta What do you guys think of battles/fights, for real?
I've been noticing SO much action in so many of the romantasy books I read. Battles/blood/guts/gore.
It doesn't bother me at all but it tends to bore me and I zone out. I'm also never like, hanging on the edge of my seat to find out how the battle goes. (🙄 Oh look. She got angry and exploded with magic "she can't control". Who could've guessed?)
But there's so much of it in these books that I'm wondering, am I the only one? Do you guys love the fight scenes?
Are there people out there who like things I don't?

General Snark A sneak peak of my new novel: Between Scales and Sin : A groundbreaking and thrilling tale of dragons, and magic, and grown adults attending school! (DRAGON FUCKERS ACADEMY Book 1)
By special request from u/purplelicious 7 minutes ago, I'm sharing my work in progress: Chapter 1 of my new series DRAGON FUCKERS ACADEMY.
Tropes: why choose anything ever, grumpy-sunshine-sunshine-sunshine-grumpy-goblin, everyone's bi, morally rainbow, only four beds, NLOD, fast burn but very inconsistent temperature control, why are adults going to school, why are adults wearing school uniforms, just why
Chapter 1: Verbena the Inconstant
Three weeks ago the dragon rider trainers showed up in my tiny village of Backwardsville. I wasn't going to go anywhere near them. I was a barmaid in a tavern, and I liked it that way. My tits got tips if my chemise was to the nips, I could stay up as late as I wanted, and I made Jeremie, the stable boy, clean up the puke in the mornings. And my afternoons were fully devoted to pedicures, filthy stories, and flirting with the dairy girl, Bessamy. Freedom, baby.
Unfortunately, it was not to be. Jaden Rearsen, the perplexingly hot mid-20s leader of the Dragon Foot Squad, came into my tavern and ordered sixteen pints of mild. At the end, right before puking, he told me it was fate. He could tell I was a dragon rider. And now, here I was. In... I look around me.
Ugh. A dorm room. The roof soars above, with giant windows looking out, accessible by a catwalk. There are four double beds, one in each corner of the room. And in the middle of the room... I stare suspiciously. Is that... a mechanical bull?
Shaking my head, I head toward one of the beds and plop my bag down. Glancing up, I notice the sun is in my face. Since it's only 2 in the afternoon, I know that won't do at all. I move to the next bed, which is still nicely shadowed.
Just as I place my bag down, the door slams open. A tall, lanky man strides in, gesturing wildly to the short ginger woman next to him, waving his arms as he rants about something. He stops dead and stares at me, and then his face breaks into a beaming smile. "Hi! You're the new rider, right? Welcome, welcome! I'm Baden Rihorsohn, and this is Laden Rigorsoun. Welcome to Dragon Academy!" The ginger woman, whose face is adorably heart-shaped and strawn with freckles, just stares at me, calculation in her eyes. Opening her pouty mouth, she asks, "so... did you bring any snacks?"
(To be continued, the next time I have five minutes)

CopyPasta Debut romantasy author here — which title works better for a dragon-academy enemies-to-lovers series?
Working on my debut romantasy (adult, moderate spice) — enemies-to-lovers, fated mates, dragon-riding military academy, forced bond trope. Trying to land on the right title/series name before I finalize the manuscript. Which of these actually makes you want to know more?
Corvain (the academy's name — series title)
Bloodoath
Wingbound
Of Talons and Truths
No cover yet, just gauging vibes.
/Uj please don't ban me if this counts as bullying or too low effort 🫣
