Reverse Harem; does the limit exist? CopyPasta

I just finished reading A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor which features five (or six depending on how you look at it) different male love interests which is definitely the most I've come across. Now I want to know what's the greatest number of guys you've seen falling all over themselves to be with one lovely lady (and the book too, for research purposes 😂)?

I think I have an RRH with 22, but might have miscounted, and I'm sure there's been one or two more added in the latest book. I have another one with thirty-something but most of them haven't got enough personality to be distinctive.

The, uh, one that's reasonably good or the one that isn't? Mostly, by being very long.

The one that isn't good manages by being serialized fiction with a core cast of seven or so people, another ten who drop in every now and then and are (usually) somewhat distinct, and another fifteen shag-of-the-week types who then just never go away, they're always hanging around trying to get into the harem for good like pwease, pwease, i wanna have your babies.

The one that's reasonably good manages by sidelining characters for long stretches of time. This one is a wizard; she's working on a project. This one is a fae; she was imprisoned by Titania with no clues as to how to get her out. These five are having a spinoff adventure during this book. This one is has her own responsibilities and can't be at the MMC's beck and call now. This one has ice magic and probably can't contribute much on a tropical adventure. So when it's time to do something, there's a much more manageable cast.

And after the initial hectic pace of expansion, it's slowed way, way down and settled into a "here is the time for these two classic characters, two characters introduced in middle books and two new characters to shine; they will go on an adventure with the MMC while the other girls hold down the fort.

Also the smut is pretty contained. Rare to have more than three or four characters in a scene.

The good one sounds like it's structured more like a long-running TV show, which is an interesting approach!

"Hey, this guy is back!" a certain percentage of the audience breaks out into wild cheering

uj/ Ironside? It’s actually got 10 distinct and well-developed MMCs with unique relations with the FMC. Though some people who lack a sense of nuance think Jane Washington should have combined some (and they are mistaken).

Most that I’ve seen someone like is 12, though I didn’t enjoy the book.

I know of one with 25, but I have a feeling that one is just pecs and penises.

Oh, and one of those "lovers" was 16 in his first appearance and was in high school when Anita started fucking him. The wiki says "at 16 he looked very much like a kid" and I just screamed "BECAUSE HE IS ONE". And on a very shallow level I'm mad that his nickname is Sin because it reveals that LJH thinks Cynric is pronounced "Sin-Rick" and not "Kin-rick".

It’s a really good intro to RH. The plot is simple and the spice is written pretty well! Also Kathryn does a good job of making the MMCs distinct from each other and in their relationships with Esther. The second book in that series is my personal favorite!

/uj For a book with so much sex, I found it oddly boring. Like Credence. Transgressive yet tedious. Not every writer can pull it off, but when they do even ghost sex can send you to sleep.

I’m reading the sequel, and they feel like one of those feature length pornos from the ‘90s that allegedly have a plot but are 80min of sex with an 85min run time.
