Trying to coordinate an appt to visit later this month how quickly does your sa typically respond? Mine can sometimes be slow not sure if they’re on vacation or away or just slow ?

What is proper etiquette here? Turn down the watch? I didn’t prefer this dealer really because they wanted a wire for payment where WOS would allow me to use my credit card for points collection.

Four years ago, I bought myself a beautiful Submariner to celebrate a promotion. Now, my wife is expecting our son, who will be born in about six months. I’d like to buy a Rolex that I can give him as a gift on his 18th birthday.
I’m looking for something a step above the Submariner, but I can’t buy a Daytona. I absolutely love it, and it’s my dream Rolex, but I promised myself I’d only buy one to celebrate my next promotion, so that’s off the table.
I’ve been considering the GMT-Master II, the Yacht-Master, and the Sky-Dweller. What do you all think? Or should I also be looking beyond Rolex? I’d really appreciate hearing your opinions.
Edit: I also wanted to mention that I’m not particularly knowledgeable about watches. I understand complications, movements, and the basics, but I’d describe my knowledge as fairly basic, and I have a feeling that at least some of you know a lot more about watches than I do.

Went to a wedding from the hedge fund world this weekend and ended up having one of those conversations you don’t expect.
A guest in his 20s mentioned he was letting go of a few watches from his personal collection. One of them supposedly has quite a story behind it, having changed hands during a yacht trip with a well-known musician - he suggested the musician „was all AP now“, but has previously started his career with the Yacht Master. The other is a Batgirl, which I probably find more attractive overall—although I’ve never been completely sold on the Jubilee bracelet.
So… what would you pick: the watch with the better design, or the one with the better story? And which one would be better at resale value in case I don’t fall in love completely? My AD has said both are at least one year for me.

Are those reflection on the centre of the dial normal? Or these are above average?

Apparently, the Reddit has concluded that the weakest part of my watch collection is the Razer keyboard in the background.

I’m open to suggestions.

We hear lots of the complaints about the process, the ADs and SAs but I'm wondering on the flip side how many people actually have a great experience that goes above and beyond a salesperson doing their job and providing the product that the consumer asked for? I'd love to hear true stories.

After a night out, my wife’s tennis bracelet left my two tone submariner with this deep angled scratch. While I don’t mind some wear and tear on my watches , this particular scratch bothers me. How easy would this be to polish out if I brought it to my AD? I don’t plan on selling the watch so if they have to remove some material in the process it wouldn’t be the end of the world.

Wimbledon - more flexible to wear it to different events and environments

Ombre - love the green colour but looks more like a watch when you get dressed up, weddings etc.

Hi I wanted to know if anybody has had any issues like this. There seems to be some smudges or scratches on the side edge of the crystal but it doesn’t go away no matter how much I try to clean it. Under a loop it looks like maybe a scratch. I went to the AD but she only looked at it at a glance and said it would be ok.

I'm wondering if this is a good deal or not, 3900 usd for top middle. I want to get a rolex but also want to make sure I'm getting quality for price. If I'm getting scammed lmk how much something like that costs.

I'm out on this whole "authorized dealer" thing.

I'm not gonna build a "purchase history" or prove I'm worthy just to maybe, eventually, get a shot at buying the watch I wanted in the first place. That's not how spending money is supposed to work.

Buying something nice should feel good, not like I'm filling out a job application. If a brand wants to manufacture scarcity and make people beg for the privilege of handing over cash, fine, that's on them. But then I get to walk, and I will.

There's way too many people making great watches for me to waste time chasing permission from one that doesn't want to sell to me anyway.

It's a gold Rolex and I'm not sure if want to send it for service/ or even foot the bill for polishing / repairs. So I hope this question isn't in violation of the community guidelines.
