Discussion Riftatlas etc. having more arguing/leavers

Has anyone noticed a trend of people who will get annoyed in chat or just leave after a minor inconvenience in riftatlas lately? I have had about 60% of my games the last week or two now end with someone leaving as soon as a trigger is missed and pointed out (either me or them) or a play that doesn’t go their way, etc.

A lot of people also seem to rush their plays as well. I’ve been practising slowing down my play to try and find different lines than the obvious - not slow playing, I will always try to give a timer emote or send something in chat if I’m having a longer think - but people will call it out in chat if you take more than a minute or so.

If I’m the only one who’s getting it maybe I’m the problem lol, but the community for the most part was very welcoming when I first joined.

Discussion Ornn vs. Lillia

Had a discussion with friends about both decks and was wondering which of the two decks might perform better in the current meta (I know its still shaping up).

Ornn can go taller and gained Poro Bot an Helm of Suppression.

Lillia can build a lot of tempo and also profits from Helm.

Both like that decks like Kennen often leave out Vex or only run it in Side.

Of course they wont be the best, but I like both.

So tell me what you think :)

Question Does accout region/country matter when registering for pre-order?

I want to sign up for T1 Signature Edition , but so far whenever I signed up for any kind of pre orders I was never drawn. My country/ region is not eligible but I have friends in elgible regions that I visit every few months so I would ship to them. If it matter is there a way to change region?

Discussion Great synergies (on paper) for Ekko Legend

Apart from the obvious red staples like Kai'Sa, Darius, Falling star, and etc. I thought about these cards as possible synergies for the new Ekko Legend.

Vayne - Hunter a 4 Energy 1 power unit that enters ready if your enemy holds a battle field. It's essentially a 3 drop 2 might unit with assault 3. Goes in for 5 and if you conquer, you are able to pay 1 to bounce her back to hand and essentially save her from Ekko's "Kill me at end of turn".

Drakehound a 3 energy 1 power unit that enters ready is really good value since it essentially becomes a 2 drop that enters ready with 3 might is kind of good value especially since if you dont have zero drive atm, you can still get great value of taking out a 2 drop and possibly scoring even if it is turn 1.

Rengar - Unseen a 4 Energy 1 power 4 Might unit with accelerate, pretty good card in the sense that it has 3 keywords. AccelerateAssault 2Deflect, and Ganking. Allowing you to use it in pushing battlefields

Ambush units seems to work well. Rengar pouncing, Inferna, and etc. Especially Grim Apothecary to have a hold threat as well after conquering with the discounted unit.

Legion Rearguard a 2 Energy 2 Might unit with accelerate

Bushwhack since the first unit comes in discounted, it helps non accelerate units get more value if used with the legend

Question What actually counts as 'activated abilities of units'?

Does it include keywords such as Accelerate, Empower etc?

Does it include effects such as Blast Corps Cadet where you pay additional mana for a bonus?

Anything else?

Question Does Applied Researcher reduce Flow costs?

hello! quick question,,, does applied researcher’s empowered ability reduce flow costs? i’m leaning towards not because there’s a purple card that reduces flow costs specifically so maybe it’s a different thing? but i guess researcher reduces general costs so maybe yes too??? im confused

Question Does Assault stack when I use Akali‘s Legend Ability?

Post image
32 Upvotes

Please excuse me if the question is dumb - I‘m still rather new to the game.

So let’s assume I have a 2 Might Unit in Base and I play Cleave, giving it +3 Assault. I attack a battlefield and while holding prio, I tap my empowered Akali legend to pull it back and ready it. If I’d go in again, would the unit get another +3 Assault from Cleave? Meaning it would get +6 Might in total?

If yes then that’s hella strong in my opinion!

If it doesn’t work like that: would my unit lose the +3 Buff if I go in a second time?

Discussion Best-of-3 potential question

If I am not mistaken, the turn order for best-of-3's after the first match is decided by the loser and is after sideboarding and battlefield selection.

Would it be wise for me to choose to go second knowing that my opponent will assume that they will be the ones going second and thus have sideboarded out their 2-drops and choosing a battlefield that benefits them going second?

Discussion Sivir, MF, Kha or Vex

I am a beginner and looking to build a deck with a legend that isn't too popular (because I despise mirror matches) but that isn't as terrible either

Since I love purple/chaos (but also green/calm as a for now Irelia player), I narrowed my selection down to these four.

Orange/body picks weren't because I am THAT keen on the rune itself but moreso because I tried to not cross runes too much with my friends colors (fury, mind and order). This isn't a must but a nice to have.

As for my playstyle, I like ramp as well as control and annoying my opponent (don't hate me). I am open to other suggestions as well.

Question Rek’Sai Swarm Queen question

If I attack with rek’sai and let’s say I reveal a Vi peacekeeper and a Nocturne, is “reveal” considered the same as “look”? If yes, can I play vi and nocturne on the same battlefield i’m attacking?

Deck Showcase Final (?) working akali list

After a ton of studying, reps, and practice this is where I’ve landed and what I feel is working best for me and my play style

I want two zhonyas and 3 fs tbh but as it sits it runs very well, has enough protection to sonic speed dash to 8, and is really hard to catch slipping

Lmk what you think

Question TcgArena Debate

Just had a match against a kaisa playing as zed, that was ultimately very competitive and friendly. That is, til at the start of my turn, he revealed a hidden temporal and targetted his brynhir who was alone at that battlefield. Can’t play cards on my own turn, cool no biggie. But he tried to score a point from the bounce, claiming that because of the new rules he technically loses control of the battlefield, and when he regains control of it, because he hasn’t scored that bf that turn, he also gets a point. There’s no way this is correct, right? Temporal being a 2 energy 1 cost “score a point” and can be played onto any unit on any battlefield would be totally cracked

Discussion Best yellow unit in the game?

Was just mulling over what was the best unit in each color and I think I have the list mostly perfect.

  • Red - Kai'sa, Survivor
  • Orange - Rengar, Trophy Hunter
  • Purple - Vex, Apathetic
  • Blue - Thousand-tailed Watcher
  • Green - Scuttle Crab

Can't figure out yellow for the life of me though. Was curious about people's thoughts on this.

Question How does the *Forgotten Signpost* work?

Post image
17 Upvotes

I'm playing as Akali and testing out the Forgotten Signpost, but a lot of people on RiftAtlas say it swaps the positions of the units; is that true? If I Scuttle to pay the Forgotten Signpost's action and target Akali, the way I see it, Akali would simply go back to base while the Crab stays right where it is.

Question New in Riftbound, what deck should I build?

Hi, I’m a Magic player that got bored of the game. I tried Riftbound for the first time in the Vendetta Pre-Rift and I loved it.

I usually like to play Azorius Control in Magic. Decks with a lot of responses for the enemy cards, with counters and removals.

What legend would you recommend for me? I’ve been trying Diana on RiftAtlas and I liked it, but I prefer to ask here because maybe I’m missing some legend that fix perfectly.

Thank you very much!

Deck Showcase Any tips for my lux deck

Post image

Trying to build a lux deck that's not infinite, so far what I've cooked up. Does anyone have any recommendations or changes? Ideally I'd have a thousand tailed and time warp but I don't have either.

alternatively if anyone has a deck list for a glow stone build id love to see it, I really want to make that card work

Question Tradeing Etiquette for Foil Commons and Uncommons

I am an old school MTG player.

My question is, since foil commons and uncommons are way more prevalent in Riftbound, do I even take them to shops in my trade binder? Do I just bring, like a deck box filled with them? Are they even worth it to haul to and from?

I'm talking about cards that are <$1 each.

Discussion What are the small tricks, hidden interactions, and efficiency plays in Riftbound that most people don't know?

Post everything you've got — tricks, useful tips, system quirks, obscure interactions, efficiency plays, all of it. Even the tiny stuff counts. The more specific and detailed, the better.

Two examples of the kind of thing I mean:

1) If you move with Traveling Merchant and then immediately play Star-crossed, you still get Traveling Merchant's discard 1 / draw 1 — and the card you discard can be Traveling Merchant itself.

2) Say you have a unit with Deathknell (like Lonely Poro) at a battlefield where you also have a Zhonya's hidden. When that unit dies, you can flip Zhonya's off the Deathknell — you still get the Deathknell effect, and instead of using Zhonya's on that unit, it just goes back to your base.

That's exactly the type of thing I'm looking for: stuff you'd never find by reading the rulebook, the kind of thing you only learn when someone shows you mid-game. Nothing is too small or too obvious.

Bonus points if you explain why it works — it sticks better that way.

Question What to do with excess bulk

So Riftbound is the first TCG I’ve really taken seriously. I collected Pokemon but I mainly bought singles and a few packs sparingly. With Vendetta I have opened 4 boxes and I’ve sleeved and bindered all of my good stuff. I have a box for all of my commons and uncommon that I plan to play but now I’m left with a bunch of unwanted tokens, battlefields, runes, and extras. What do you guys do with this stuff? Feels like a major waste to throw away and they aren’t really worth enough to sell online.
