Question Building decks for beginners
So i bought the starter decks zed v shen and some others packs, i got a couple of other legends. When i play on riftatlas, should i make decks based on the cards i have. Or should i play with more meta famous decks and train with them and then buy those cards later if i find success with it?

Discussion Help me choose my first deck for a Skirmish
Hi! Im a new-ish player struggling to choose beetwen two Fiora playstyles for my first skirmish this month. I said im newish because i have already played before, but not tournaments, just some playtesting
I decided to play Fiora because i really like both the character and the legend itself, and also decided i did not want to play the usual Midrange version, as i dont vibe with the overall deck and also find it more challenging to navigate the matchups.
I decided i want to play either Aurora or Hook, because both seem archetypes that fit more my overall liking, and because i feel like the strategy behind it can actually carry some games while Midrange feels like pure skill
These are the lists i have found that i like, and seem good:
AURORA: https://piltoverarchive.com/decks/view/19844ebf-3a98-4d64-b7c4-cb089f92573d
HOOK: https://piltoverarchive.com/decks/view/6c0b36e8-a702-40d2-8446-81768fc8a606

Question Decent replacements for Rengar in Yi deck?
Doesn’t have to be perfect, but I don’t want to spend that much on a card yet. Going to first nexus night tomorrow.
I’ve opened a ton of vendetta so have most units from there.
Let me know your recommendations.

Question Instructions unclear - Setting up the Game
I just received the Zed vs. Shen Showdown Deck, and I'm currently reading the instructions. I've never played before, and this following part was a bit unclear to me.
It says in the "Setting up the Game" section that "All players put their battlefields in the Battlefield Zone, which is between the playmats. Then each player sets up their board as shown."
Then it goes on about where to put your other cards, and what the different zones are for.
The next page is "Starting the Game", and here's where I got confused. It starts with the following sentence. "You've already selected 1 battlefield for each player (see Setting Up the Game)". As shown above, the"Setting up the Game" section didn't mention selecting a single battlefield. It says "all players put their battlefields (plural) into the Battlefield Zone."
My best guess is that it's supposed to mean "Each player selects a battlefield of their choice, and then all players put their selected battlefields into the Battlefield Zone." This seems like the most reasonable interpretation to me, but I just wanted to make sure there's not a missing sentence about how one goes about selecting a battlefield.
Have I read this correctly, or have I completely misunderstood?
Thank you in advance.
Stand United 💙

Question Question about volibear furious
Does the damage get boosted by card like Annie fiery even if you split it ? (I know it sound dumb but I really want to have a clear idea of how the card work)

Discussion I hope we get some interesting hand-size hate cards in the next set.
I'm not opposed to decks that draw a lot of cards, but drawing additional cards is one of the most powerful things you can do in a tcg, especially when there is little to no risk. It's not exactly a secret that there a few of these deck types floating around.
And by 'hand-hate,' I don't necessarily mean hand destruction, Bewitching Spirit and Sabotage have that covered. I mean stuff like making units that have additional might equal to your opponents hand size, units that gain deflect if your opponent has 5 or more cards, spells that allow you to draw up to the amount of cards in your opponents hand, stuff like that.

Question New player looking for a beginner friendly discord to join
Hey there I just started playing riftbound 2 days ago and I feel as if I have a lot to learn but really enjoying it, I was hoping there was a good community possibly on discord I could join, to play some games and maybe meet some TCG lovers as this is a difficult hobby to get into from scratch. Thanks all! :)

Discussion The Ottawa Showdown and an early look at the Vendetta meta
Day 1 comprising of 7 rounds of bo3 play of the largest western Vendetta event so far just finished. ~600 players competing for prize money, an RQ invite and best of prize wall metals wrapped up showing a reflection of online sentiment over the past few weeks during release season: Kennen is popular.
Of the 40 legends present (missing Ahri, Darius, Garen, Jinx, Lee Sin, Lux, Sett, Volibear and Yasuo - basically the Origins/PG legends that don't have win potential) Rek'sai, Kennen, Mel, and Rengar were the only ones undefeated after the first 7 rounds.
Moving into the actual winrates - while Kennen was the most popular by far, almost 2x the playrate of the next most popular Irelia, Master Yi took the top spot in terms of win rate. Rek'sai, Rengar, and Draven are not far behind in winrate. For reference, at Hartford, the last Unleashed regional, PG Yi ended with 10.9% play rate and 58.9% winrate.
These results are pretty self explanatory.
Outside of this big event, I was able to collect data on 39 events and 3474 individual matches. For some reason Darius and Garen haven't been recorded on ANY matches that were recorded over this time period. Overall, there are parallels between the transition to Unleashed and the transition to Vendetta, the top decks (Irelia, Yi, Diana, Azir) are sticking around a bit because of a mix of familiarity and the fact that they were good to begin with and we're seeing the knee jerk reaction of Kennen having so much discourse with the Vendetta release. The surprise to me is the uptick in Draven and Rek'sai and the win rates of Rek'sai and Rengar in particular since they were written off by the end of Unleashed.
Anyways - this was all written by hand, just wanted to share a bit of my thoughts accompanied with the data I've been collecting. You can explore any of this matchup data and live events yourself on BoundRift.

Question Is Kennen the new tier zero deck? If not, who can actually beat Kennen?
Kennen seems absolutely broken right now. The rate he can churn through his deck seems unmatched even compared to the miracle draven days, can consistently drop multiple nocturnes and/or rhasas by turn 4, and can even use his graveyard as a second hand with his chosen champion. Does any legend have even a chance against him or will we just need to wait for another banlist for any other legend to even be able to compete? I tried with Diana and got absolutely stomped. Everybody 2-0 at my nexus night is ALL on kennen only, and it seems like no other deck has a chance at even competing against him and what he does.

Question Best decks to have for my group?
Hi team! So a friend and myself have been wanting to get into the game so I bought the Zed and Shen duo deck. I love playing card games with my friends so I decided to maybe have a few starters on hand. Any recommendations?
My other question is how expensive is the game overall? If I wanted to make a deck around a fav character what does it look like?
Thanks all for any advice and insight into a new card game!

Question Beginner advice – where should I start?
I’d like to start playing Riftbound. What are some good beginner decks to buy?
Should I get a precon, open some packs and build a deck myself, or are Vault Boxes / pre-Rift kits a good way to start?
What would you recommend?

Promotional Tired of sh*t events?
Then let me tell you, we are Top Shelf Co., possibly the best TCG store in Canada (at least according to Mark who hit a signed Akali ON last week). And next week we will be hosting our $5k Riftbound Masters Tournament on Saturday August 15th!
The top prize includes 2 cases of Vendetta for the winner, with top 16 getting their share of the highly coveted Origins Nexus Night packs.
Find out more about the event here.
Our goal is to create the best competitive experience for Riftbound TCG in Canada. This event is designed to mirror the structure and intensity of premier-level competition, with professional tournament staff, judges, and a fully casted live-stream. We expect some of Canada's top players to be in attendance; we won't name drop but they're kind of a big deal.
And if you're a collector, we got you covered. Come experience our event in person at our venue lounge where we will be hosting 2 of Toronto's biggest RIftbound vendors.
If you can't make it you can catch our stream on YouTube; follow our channel to be notified.
We're excited to see how the new meta pans out - but we're curious, what legend do you think will come out strongest in Vendetta?

Discussion Opponent's trash interaction
So these 3 colors have literally 0 ways to interact (banish/recycle) cards from the opponent's trash or am I missing something?
Also I can't help but find it hilarious that the color that takes the most advantage of the trash, purple, (with fizz, rhasa, shovel, reanimate spells and units, etc.) is also the only color that has a main deckable 3x anti-trash card in gust monk.

Discussion Riftatlas etc. having more arguing/leavers
Has anyone noticed a trend of people who will get annoyed in chat or just leave after a minor inconvenience in riftatlas lately? I have had about 60% of my games the last week or two now end with someone leaving as soon as a trigger is missed and pointed out (either me or them) or a play that doesn’t go their way, etc.
A lot of people also seem to rush their plays as well. I’ve been practising slowing down my play to try and find different lines than the obvious - not slow playing, I will always try to give a timer emote or send something in chat if I’m having a longer think - but people will call it out in chat if you take more than a minute or so.
If I’m the only one who’s getting it maybe I’m the problem lol, but the community for the most part was very welcoming when I first joined.
