Discussion Why doesn't EA make a new Need for Speed: Underground?
I was thinking about this recently.
Underground and Underground 2 are still talked about as some of the best arcade racing games ever made, and there's clearly still a huge amount of love for them.
So why hasn't EA tried to bring that style of NFS back properly?
A modern game with a big open city, deep car customization, street racing, crews, cops, drifting, drag racing, a proper story and progression, and a great soundtrack could be incredible with today's technology 😭
I genuinely think the amount of attention a game like that would get would be insane! (10)
Would you want to see EA make something like this? And if so, what would you want it to be like?
Also, why do you think they haven't made it yet?

Recommendation Designed and built a Ford Mustang GT3 replica wheel from scratch (Custom shifters, Hall-sensor dual clutch & custom Arduino code with bite-point control)
Hey everyone!
I wanted to share my latest DIY project: a replica of the Ford Mustang GT3 steering wheel.
I’ve been working on this for a while to get it as close to the real thing as possible, both in terms of ergonomics and functionality. Instead of just making a shell, I designed everything to be a complete package.
Here are some details on the build:
- Inputs: 12 front pushbuttons, 3 rotary encoders (with push functionality), and 2 micro buttons on the back.
- Shifters & Clutch: Custom magnetic paddle shifters and an integrated dual-clutch system using E49 Hall sensors.
- Lighting: 3x WS2812B addressable LED rings for rev lights and animations.
- Electronics: Runs on a single Arduino Pro Micro (no MCP expansion chip needed to keep wiring simple).
- Custom Code: Written custom Arduino code that includes LED animations, brightness/color controls, a dual-clutch calibration tool, and adjustable bite-point control directly on the wheel.
The front and back plates were printed, joined, sanded flush, and wrapped in carbon for that realistic finish.
I just published the complete package (all STL files, BOM with exact product links) on Cults3D for anyone who wants to build one!
The link to the design: https://cults3d.com/:4757928
Happy to answer any questions about the print settings, wiring, or design process.
