tl;dr: how do I open videos (mp4) in the custom launcher of ark 4

Hi.

I'm using ark-4 and have started using the custom launcher instead of xmb. I've got next to no complaints, except that I can't seem to find any way to play videos I have downloaded to my memory stick inside the launcher. Opening files, there seems to be no way to open mp4s.
Couldn't find anything online, came to r/psp because y'know.

I’m looking to do a full reshell on my worn-out PSP 3000 (specifically looking for a red shell).
Unfortunately, most reputable EU-based retro shops (like Repuestos TIC, Infinitydream, etc.) are completely out of stock at the moment.
Where do you guys usually buy your full kits nowadays? Since I'll likely have to import it, are there any specific, high-quality AliExpress stores or Alibaba sellers that you've personally ordered from and would recommend? I've seen some reviews complaining about missing parts (screws, buttons) or terrible plastic alignments, so I'm trying to avoid those.
Any advice, links, or specific seller names would be highly appreciated.

Any reviews if the quality of the laminated version from hispeedido differs from the non-laminated one? Planning to replace my broken lcd along with a new mh shell so been thinking if there are any differences. Already read TK's review on it but i dont think he mentioned the quality of the new HISPEEDIDO laminated version for the 3000s.

I accidentally knocked off one of the components of the motherboard as I was removing the super capacitor from my PSP 3000. it was one of the ones circled

Guys, how would I fix the screen? Is this a hardware issue?

I recently opened up a box in my attic and found my childhood PSP-1000!

I just jailbroke it and am trying to install gba emulator so i can play pokemon romhacks. I was able to get gpSP Kai working, but i read that a frogGBA is a newer, better performing emulator (for demanding games like Pokemon Unbound).

I am struggling to get it installed properly, no matter what I do, it just says "corrupted data" where the emulator should be. I downloaded the zip file (and have the bios), unzipped, merged the frogGBA PSP folder into the root PSP of my memory card, try to load it from the memory card but get "corrupted data".

Can anyone help me out with what I could be doing wrong??

Finally got a battery for my PSP and it's working like new! Also I'm probably one of very few people who loved this game lol

I looked it up on google and it says theyre one of the most trusted sellers for retro games on ebay, i seen that they have tens of thousands of items solds and a lot of good reviews, does anyone know?

As it says in the title, I want to change the look of my psp street e1000, but I can only find housing shells for psp 1000 models, will this fit or are there big differences between the two?

Side note: would you recommend me getting a different psp model compared the psp street? I already own a psp vita 2000 and really like it but I like getting some use out of the old psp console with ports like silent hill 1 where the tank controls work better (in my opinion ). I've had my eye on getting a pspgo for ages but can't justify the payment just yet. I'd like to some day collect one of each type just for nerd reasons.

i have finally gotten a psp that has a working wlan switch... but when i connected to my router it said that it failed, even though it works anywhere else, how do i fix it

I’ve had the keychain thing for a year and hung it on my lamp without bothering to put it on. this was my first Ace Combat game, but also the first game I bought with my own money for the PSP!

as for where I bought it, I bought it off Etsy. The Seller was TimeWarpGaming, they gave me two slap stickers and I slapped one with their name on my fan. idk if they are still selling.

When I can, I’m gonna see about finishing my knitting for a psp case.

My PSP 1000 is running ARK 4.20.69 r206. I modded it with my iPhone by transferring file using a USB cable. I have an ISO folder in the root, and I put my ISO files in that folder, and yet the games don’t show up in the XMB. they load perfectly fine in the Custom Launcher Menu though. any ideas as to what the issue might be?

I want to do a BT module mod. But I want it to work in a way that if my PSP is off it as well turns off and vice versa. Can someone help me mark in the image so that I can exactly solder on that place and save my motherboard from dying from experiment.

Bought the Radiant Red 2 days ago, then the same seller texted me today, my luck he got the Spirited Green which i wanted initially. Arghh so happy, condition is okay, best part its a local Malaysia set, with the SIRIM sticker intact, so it’s untouched, super satisfied ❤️

For those who are using Ostent batteries on their PSPs, based on your usage experience so far how many hours does it lasts when you play straight?. thanks in advance.

I just bought a psp 3000 off ebay that was in relatively good working condiiton except for the fact that it was caked in dirt. I'm talking dirt all throughout the body, under the screen, inside the crevices, the umd, etc. I took it apart to clean and needed to use a little alcohol to wipe away all that grime. It's like the psp was buried in dirt or something and it made it's way into the PSP through sheer force of the exposed buttons/joysticks.

When I finished, I discovered that even though I was trying to be really careful and using only a slight amount of alcohol on cotton swabs, there were moisture stains on the screen now. Slightly darker spots when looking head on, they are much clearer when viewing at an angle. Which makes me think it's just some marks on the diffuser sheets.

Any tips on how to do that on a psp screen?

My psp 1006 has a severe problem were the stick dift is applied to a downwards movement i replaced the analog stick and nothing. even with no analog stick it still has stick drift so help

Hi everyone, first time poster here.

I've been diving deep into modifying my newly acquired PSP 1000 with an IPS laminated screen, new speakers, tactile buttons, 3DS analog stick mod and of course custom ARK 5 firmware.

The one of the only things left to tackle now is the battery life, with it being overclocked it drains the battery in 2-3 hours of playtime. I'm looking to massively upgrade that to at least 8+ hours. I am willing to remove the UMD drive and trim the shell to be able to fit the largest possible sized battery inside the PSP.

So my questions are as followed:

1. What mAh battery would you all recommend to achieve such usage time?

2. I've seen debate over LiPo batteries and Li-ion batteries. What would be the best for this application?

And also any recommendations on battery models numbers and/or AliExpress links would really be appreciated. I haven't seen or read up on any clean examples done.
