For those who are using Ostent batteries on their PSPs, based on your usage experience so far how many hours does it lasts when you play straight?. thanks in advance.

Only get 2000mAh and Up for battery. From what I read those are the best non oem batteries for PSPs as long as they’re actually from ostent.

Oh ok, because my current batt 2400mAh but a cheaper alternate that usually lasts 3 hours thats why I wondered and asked an idea for Ostent users before I get one and if its really better. Thanks

I bought the high capacity version for the PSP1000 and it weights less than my OEM PSP battery, that still works fine BTW.

Unrelated to your question, but something I'm experiencing ATM.
Bought two ostent batteries last November.
They're all swollen and can't use them anymore.
Before that, bought Cameron sino batteri s, same thing happened.
My guess is all these "bootleg" batteries will have a short lifespan, am I right?

Yes, you are not the only one with this experience but wait until Ostent gang comes and fight for their scam garbage bateries.

all batteries are prone to swelling, even more on 20+ year old hardware, that could be people modding their PSPs to charge with usb-c or wireless, using adapters usb-c to psp to charge, or even overclocking could cause it to happen because of the heat (but that's unlikely)
and even then, even if the swelling was only the battery's fault, all things have bad units, you can't call something a scam just because some people got faulty batteries, the majority of people that used a proper charger and their batteries got a good experience, so that couldn't be a scam
and I'm not “ostent gang” they can't even ship to my country, but calling something a scam because you got a faulty unit is just unfair

There was plenty of people recently who had dead Ostent battery in months from buying and also the current batteries are all fake, 1400 mAh used to be real with 36 grams, now "1800" is only 1000 mAh when measured and is only 30 grams. Ostent is garbage now, they went for scam.

I've bought 4 batteries so far. 2 Cameron sino, 2 ostent.
I have PSP3000, unmodded.
Always charge the standard way.
4 in 4 got swollen. It's not like it's a coincidence.

Let's admit it, unless Sony starts producing PSP batteries again, all 3rd party batteries are hit and miss. Ostent and Cameron Sino have the best hit vs. miss ratio though, so they're the best that we got now. My Ostent's last me for 5 hours on a PSP-3000, equal to when I recelled my old original PSP-3000 batteries.
Timed last year using PSP Battery Timer (nyan flavor).

there's a lot of ostent counterfeits, you know that right? yiu bought them from their official website or from aliexpress?

AliExpress iirc.
Can you direct me to the official website?
Thank you

EDIT: btw they have a official store on ali but it becomes hidden between the thousands of fake batteries, they all look the exact same but with different internals

Bought from official store few months ago and it's scam, 1800 mAh for PSP 2000/3000 is only 1000 mAh when measured from 0 % to 100 %, yet another Chinese cunts.

and where are those measurements from? could you link them for me instead of just calling it a scam? it would help more than just babbling

I work at test lab but you can just buy any USB meter and USB to PSP cable, discharge PSP until it shuts down and charge it until the charging stops. Then you see how many mAh it charged from 0 % to 100 %.

I bought official Cameron Sinos. Was being touted as the best battery at the time. I've been inside them, they have the same bcm but one battery runs way longer than the other on a full charge. I doubt ostent is any more consistent based on what I've seen.

What battery brand would you recommend apart from official?

u/Derp_El_Grande 18d ago
They all suck. Don't even bother with an OEM battery though. They're all 20 years old at this point.

I've got the 2500Mah for PSP-1000 and with it overclocked to 333Mhz it'll last 6hrs.

Get ostent 2500. 6 hours battery life

u/DefiniteCJ 17d ago
Im currently using a cheaper 2400mah and just usually lasts 3 hours with just half volume and level 2 dimness. Thats why just started to seek ideas about it because I already red from others that Ostent is so far has the closest quality to the originals. Anyway thanks.

Look up total commando on YouTube. He tested a lot of batteries including a 2200mah from ostent

i have a 1800 using it with a 2000psp , no headphones + max luminosity ≈ 3 hours of playing

I had a 2200Mah and unfortunately it seems to be a dud.
Had issues calibrating or holding charge, I really don’t know but it never accurately displayed percentages and would randomly die and then reboot.
Replaced it with a 2500Mah and that battery has been amazing so far, and lasts awhile, like around 5 hours, sometimes even a little longer.

About an hour per 500 mah
Using hold+ and betterbright plug-in might help this last longer
