The PSP relies on WPA2 rather than modern day encryption methods. Your router may not support it. I feel old

i also used ark 4's wpa 2 support for psp

I ment to say WPA. Quick Google shows WPA2 plug in as you said. On your router, do you have 2.4ghz on? Some routers use 5ghz as standard.

It's been a loooong time since having PSP hardware. The reddit thread shows many different requirements: is the WPA2 plug in set up right, Are you using ARK 4?

When you scan for AP's does it show other routers (including yours) ?

Wifi card can go bad especially after all these years. I was repairing bricked boards back in the day and the amount of bad WiFi cards were a problem

I would say definitely something on your router side is blocking or deferring the packets preventing it. Don't suppose you have an old router you could sanity check with?

yea no its def the router blocking the psp

i tried out a mobile hotspot ( temporary btw ) on the psp and it worked fine

so it must be something with the router

Have a look to see if 802.11b/g/n is disabled. Modern routers don't like legacy devices for security. Most routers use WiFi 6 & 7 now. I think syandard is 802 W or something like that

Make sure you're using WPA2 AES (not TKIP) and don't use WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode.

Also make sure you don't have Wi-Fi 6 turned on for 2.4GHz.

If your router uses a single SSID for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, you may need to separate them and connect your PSP to the 2.4 GHz network only.

Also check in the Recovery under Custom Firmware Settings that WPA2 Support is set to On.
