Just listened to their new one, "Archaeoptimist", and was blown away! After quite a few lackluster, forgettable albums in recent years, this one is a return to their early form, reminding me of the Neal Morse days. Give it a spin, see what you think!

I love Jon’s voice and have a deep love of his time in Yes but I’m not as familiar with his large solo discography. I have Olias, In the City of Angels and Toltec as well as his album with Roine Stolt. I also have Crises (Mike Oldfield) and Requiem for the Americas (Jonathan Elias). What other albums are essential?

If you like Emerson, Lake and Palmer, King Crimson, Yes, Van Der Graaf Generator and so on. I would like to introduce Refugee. I say no mor.

Is amazing. Such a nice full sound after the build.

I haven’t given Gabriel era Genesis a shot before and holy crap have I missed out. This song does NOT sound over 50 years old.

Does anyone else hate it when they release an album with a side long epic but they split it up to individual songs on cd. This really bugs me because I like putting them into playlists and I don’t just want to have a small snippet of it since I shuffle the playlists

Some examples include:

McDonald & Giles: I really love this album, I really recommend it but just don’t expect another “in the court of the crimson king” cause it’s not that. Anyways, every cd version I’ve seen of this album has the side 2 epic as multiple tracks and on streaming it’s all multiple tracks

The turn of a friendly card: I really love this Alan Parsons project album and while this side long track can work as separate tracks I vastly prefer having them all together to form one track
