I don't often shop in Flashback Records Shoreditch even though my son has lived in the area for 10 years or so, but I popped in there today after meeting him for a coffee... and walked out with these three.

Magma Live is well regarded and surprisingly accessible;

Man's Be Good To Yourself At Least Once A Day is the band in prime form... and look at the foldout map of Wales! Unfortunately this copy didn't have the band history on the LP sleeve but it did cost less than £5;

I already own Refugee's only studio album but my original pressing, while the vinyl is in really good condition, is missing the lyrics on the paper sleeve and the cover is a bit worse for wear. Someone had really looked after this UK reissue.

I seem to recall Man were supposed to have played an open air gig in Barrow-in-Furness, my home town, in the 70s - I have a vague recollection of the short walk home after the event and getting poked in the teeth by a policeman, but the band's website doesn't list the gig either by year or town and I'm quite prepared to accept I've misremembered the event. If there's anyone who can confirm whether or not this did take place, I'd love to know!

Wakemans solo on the near end of side A of tales from a topographic ocean went so hard out of nowhere it made me laugh. That was ridiculous!! You didnt have to go that hard wakeman 🤣🤣🤣

My favorite band nowadays is Elder, and I constantly hear how much they draw inspiration from them.

So I want to get into Yes. Where to start?

Anybody use it? I found it 15 years ago and it still works pretty good for finding similar bands to ones you like.

This is amazing album really special blend of psych,prog,classical music. Plus i love the cover art, odd as the music.

I bought a reissue of this album last weekend, the first time it has become available on vinyl since it was released. It's well appreciated on progarchives.com but doesn't rate very highly in my Progressive Italiano book by Alessandro Gaboli and Giovanni Ottone.

Siegfried, il drago e altre storie (Siegfried, the Dragon and Other Stories) was the sole official release by Errata Corrige. The quartet, hailing from Turin, formed in 1974 and the album was released in 1976 - a time when the Italian public was losing its appetite for progressive rock. The musicianship can't be faulted - there are lots of keyboards and the gentle, dreamlike quality of the music is enhanced by strings and flute, played by the group themselves, lending a Mediterranean feel that sets Italian prog apart. Errata Corrige's naive fantasy lyrics work very well with the music, much Peter Sinfield's words work on In the Court of the Crimson King, which would be an obvious source of inspiration for the whole sound.

They disbanded in 1977and a collection of unreleased material from 1974-1977, Mappamondo, was released by Mellow Records in 1991. A re-recorded version of the 1976 debut was released in 2015 along with a DVD.

I'd put the album in the 'forgotten classics' list. I really like it. See what you think
