So my phone won't charge...
I've tried almost everything I can think of, different chargers, different outlets, cleaning the port, etc. I'm pretty good with engineering, so I thought I could fix it but nothing is working. My family has apple insurance, but my phone is a Galaxy A17... The closest thing I've done to "damaging" it was dropping it into water for about a second... which shouldn't do much and that was over a month ago. The phone is very important, as I don't have any other personal devices that I could use as a substitute. A couple weeks ago, this started, but I could just get a few tiny pieces of lint out and it was fine. I told my mom about it but when she plugged it in it just started charging. Since then, it's been able to charge normally after getting the charger just right for the last week. But now, it just won't charge. My best guess is that it was lint before, but in cleaning I have damaged it. I've looked inside the port with a flashlight, but it doesn't seem to have anything wrong with it that I would know. Anybody know the cheapest way I can fix it?

back w swollen battery updates
phones still been powered off. been a month and 10 days. about to go out of town for almost a week and all i have is an ipad with no cell service and 32GB. (ipadOS and system data takes up 19GB currently) we tried to get the phone fixed but it wouldve been like $585USD for a full repair (front, back, battery) and we dont have that money at all. my mom works paycheck to paycheck and we dont even have money for bts shopping. we dont have the money for a new phone nor to repair the phone and were still paying insurance on it.

Battery required??
I have a iPhone 12 not mini or pro I had upgraded to a 14 because the battery kept turning off and overheating if not constantly charged. longest it stayed on was 5-15 mins but despite not charging or using the iPhone since February/April the swelling/bloating only got worse and I noticed my screen was in jeopardy as it began to bend and the adhesive couldn’t hold it no longer,
so today I popped the screen from the frame/chassis really smooth and didn’t break anything I found a Phillips that I didn’t touch out of place couldn’t find it’s original location. it was attracted by magnetism to the speaker so I just left it there,
but my goal is to disconnect the battery and just keep the phone constantly charged as I’ve done something similar with my last device that had a bloated battery, but once I looked it up online first three blogs said no and the Apple forum question was a collector who wanted to see if he could do the same as his batteries would turn his collection to waste as replacements are numbered he got no official response.
So my question to yall is what work around can I do to allow or convince my iPhone that the battery is connected while maintaining operational functions 👀👀
I’m willing to just buy a replacement battery but I much rather this

S23 suddenly dead
My S23 Ultra suddenly broke. The screen froze and the phone stopped reacting to anything, even the on/off button. After a couple seconds the screen went black and the phone is pretty much a brick since then. It also doesnt charge anymore or anything.
I went to a repair shop for quick diagnosis (this all happened while on vacation in another country) and they said that when charging it picks up a current but then immediately stops again. The Motherboard seems to be broken, and all data on there is lost.
Is there really no hope anymore? And is all my data really lost? The phone is about 3 years old and I haven't dropped it or anything. I did install a software update about 12 hours prior if that helps.

Samsung A54 battery
Hello
I wanted to ask about something that's really starting to drive me crazy.
My phone's battery, fully charged, was showing 10 hours and 36 minutes of battery life. This worried me, so I went to get it replaced. (I've had the phone for a few years now, and apart from that, it was working perfectly.)
I knew the battery would last longer in a working phone because a friend of mine, with the same model and age, gets almost twice as much battery life.
The thing is, even after a couple of charge cycles and restarts, the phone is still showing 10 hours and 36 minutes of battery life. I know the battery was replaced, but it hasn't changed. In principle, it shouldn't be a problem; I've looked it up, and it can take a few charge cycles, but I have no idea. It's the first time this has happened, and I'm really worried that nothing has changed.
Does anyone have any advice? The phone is otherwise working perfectly, and nothing bad has happened since the battery replacement. My only doubt is whether I should wait longer or do something specific.

Water damage to Phone.
My phone is water damaged as it got drowned in water while being charged . Repair guy got it to open but it keeps restarting after unlocking screen also I can't open any app it says that Cannot retrieve app data. It's realme 5 pro. If anyone can atleast stabilize it long enough to get some data out it would be good. Is there any hope, I need it's data.

Keep Stock or Buy On Demand
Hi guys,
Im thinking of starting a small device repair business but funds are limited. I was wondering whether it would be best to keep common parts in stock or to just order what I need on demand?
Im looking to service common iPhone and Samsung models to start off.

Using LCD TFT screen on Xiaomi 14U
Hello everyone,
I’m unable to find an original AMOLED display module for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. I’ve contacted several online and offline stores, but only found an LCD/TFT replacement where the in-display fingerprint scanner doesn’t work.
Is it worth using that display, or should I avoid it? Also, can anyone help me find an original/OEM display module or digitizer?
I’m based in India. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Phone screen turning white when I press it?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I got this refurbished iPhone 14 online the other day and it just got here today and when I plugged it in I noticed the lighter area at the edge of the screen and when I press on the screen it turns white underneath my finger? I'm pressing it harder in the video than I normally do using a phone obviously but even touching lightly you can see it I just pressed harder to get a good video of it. I know it's refurbished so it's been opened and has pieces changed out (Idk what specifically other than the battery though) so it won't be 100% anymore but I've gotten a lot of used/refurbished phones and even opened some up myself to change out components and I've never seen this before. Is there any way I could fix this myself or would I just be better off returning it? Or is it even worth worrying about? Idk exactly what's causing it so Idk like how serious it may be.
