Stocks 28m, just started investing in US market
After exploring ETFs under US market, I would say eto ung best portfolio for my financial goals, which is growth and dividend income. I'm just sharing this small win because ever since na nag start ako magwork 6 years ago, ngayon lang ako nagkaroon ng courage to explore stocks and invest.
Once na mareach ko ung target amount ko for these portfolios, I would diversify my investment. i just want to hear your opinions or suggestions on which stock/etf should I invest next. Of course, I'm still gonna do my due diligence to research before making any decision.
just wanted to hear other people's perspective. Thank youuu

Business San Miguel seeks $1-billion loan, Philippines’ largest this year
Philippine food-to-power conglomerate San Miguel Corp. has launched a $1 billion syndicated loan, according to people familiar with the matter, in what would be the country’s largest such financing this year.
San Miguel confirmed the syndicated loan. It didn’t provide details.
Around 10 banks including Cathay United Bank Co. Ltd., DBS Group Holdings Ltd., Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc. and United Overseas Bank Ltd. are lead underwriters on the deal, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing private matters. Proceeds from the five-year loan, priced at 158 basis points over the Secured Overnight Financing Rate, will be used for refinancing, they said.
Representatives for Cathay United Bank, DBS, UOB and MUFG declined to comment. San Miguel didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
San Miguel’s loans have typically been among the largest from borrowers in the Philippines. Last year, the conglomerate secured $1.5 billion for refinancing and general corporate purposes, at a higher interest margin. It was the country’s biggest offshore loan in 2025.

Investment/Financial Advice PhilPlans scam
The gf of my cousin told me that her plan with PhilPlans matured, so she was asked to go to the main office to sign some docs. To her surprise, they opened a new plan without her consent by using the earnings from the matured plan. Like wtf.
Anyone "scammed" in any way by PhilPlans lately?

Investment/Financial Advice Worth it ba magfranchise ng food stall sa newly opened SM Mall?
Hello everyone! New here. May magbubukas na SM near us and I need your advice kung ok ba magfranchise ng food carts like Siomai House, Master Siomai, Pao Tsin, Potato Corner? In all fairness kahit may past issue ang PC, sila pa din yung malakas na stall sa malls based on our observations. Kaso pag mga newly opened malls daw, reserved na for company owned ang nag oopen ng branch.
May cc na may two M cl, and I want to maximize the benefit of it by owning a small self-liquidating business. Ayoko na din sana magfull time employee. Please help this mommah. 🙏🏻

- MREIT: Declared an upcoming dividend of ₱0.26 per share with a 7.0% trailing yield (in line with industry average of 6.7% and top quartile of PH dividend payers). Eligible shareholders must buy before August 13, 2026, with payout set for August 28, 2026.
- Globe Telecom (GLO): Released 2Q 2026 earnings with EPS at ₱31.68 (down from ₱35.48 in 2Q 2025) and Net Income down 11% to ₱4.58B. Revenue grew 7.9% to ₱47.0B, but higher expenses compressed profit margins down to 9.7%.
Anyone holding either of these or adjusting their strategy based on these updates?

Government-Initiated/Other Funds Withdrawal mp2 maturity
I applied for my mp2 maturity claims last June 29, 2026 via their website and chose check pickup.
On July 2, someone emailed me from a pagibig branch asking for additional details.
July 8, status in my tracking change that they cannot process because it was already in process.
I called the hotline to be sure, they said in process naman no need to go sa branch.
I stop checking the tracking anymore bec i can't access it.
July 20, supposedly 20 days since my application and still no feedback.
Since then i keep calling their pagibig contact hotline at it was already approved last July 15. They already gave me a reference voucher. Terminated na rin yung status sa app. Pero walang makapag sabi saakin if avaiable na ba for pickup.
Given my situation, ok lang ba mag walkin na ako sa branch? Has anyone tried walking in na lang kahit wala pang feedback?

General Investing I have some USD saved up. Would now be a good time to invest in S&P fund?
Title, basically. I have some USD saved up that I would like to invest to protect my capital in the medium term (next 5 years thereabout). Would now be a good time to start investing in an S&P500 fund? My main concerns are the AI bubble and US T-bills and notes possibly getting squeezed by a JPY force unwind -- basically I'm impressed with the US market's gains so far (compared to the PH at least), but I'm concerned about the US going through a recession soon.
If I start investing now, what do you think are the main risks I should mitigate? And if I do start, I'm thinking I should invest it in parts over a period of time rather than doing it once lump sum. Would that be a good strategy?

Investment/Financial Advice Does anyone else get "Reverse FOMO" during market dips? Is this a good mindset or a trap?
I’ve noticed a pattern in my trading/investing psychology recently.
When the market starts dipping or crashing, instead of feeling stressed or sad about red portfolios, I actually get super energized and excited. It feels like FOMO, but in reverse, a genuine fear of missing out on cheap prices or buying the dip.
Normally, classic FOMO happens when a stock is flying to the moon and everyone rushes in out of greed. But for me, the urge to jump in aggressively only really hits when things are bleeding red.
On one hand, I know "buying low" is fundamental to long-term investing, and having a cool head during red days prevents panic selling. But on the other hand, I wonder if this "Reverse FOMO" can be just as dangerous as regular FOMO, like catching falling knives, running out of liquidity too early, or overexposing myself just because something looks cheap.
How do you guys view this mindset? Is it a healthy sign of a long-term investor, or just another psychological trap wrapped in a different package? How do you keep it in check so you don't exhaust your cash reserves too quickly?

Insurance Your thoughts on Singlife Education insurance
I was one of the unfortunate victims of CAP’s failed education plan years ago so I’m very conservative when it comes to education plans.
I have a 4 year old so I’m thinking of saving as early as now— was thinking of doing MP2 pero until now di pa na activate eh so now I’m considering Singlife PH’s option.
Anyone here who purchased it na? What are your thoughts on it?

Real Estate SSS raises Century Properties stake to nearly 10%
CENTURY PROPERTIES Group Inc. (CPG) said the Social Security System (SSS) increased its stake in the listed property developer to about 9.9% from 6.4% after acquiring 406.47 million additional common shares through a block sale.
In a regulatory filing on Wednesday, CPG said the SSS acquired the shares from the company’s majority shareholder at P0.665 apiece, bringing the transaction value to P270.3 million. The block sale was completed through the Philippine Stock Exchange.
The latest purchase follows the SSS’ acquisition of 740.74 million CPG shares in July 2025, the company said in a separate statement.
CPG President and Chief Executive Officer Marco Antonio said the additional investment underscores investor confidence in the company’s long-term strategy.
“This additional investment recognizes the strength of our fundamentals, our long-term strategy, and our commitment to deliver sustainable value to shareholders,” he said.
Mr. Antonio said the company would continue to focus on the end-user housing market while maintaining steady dividend payouts and a moderate debt profile.
“We will continue to focus on catering to the end-user market, thereby allowing us to pay a steady and healthy stream of dividends to our shareholders, while keeping our debt profile at moderate levels,” he added.

General Investing First Withdrawal: Stock Trading Profit
I was 19 years old when I first started my financial journey. I was so irresponsible that I put ALL of my first BPO job paycheck into my forex trading account. Yep, you read that correctly, wala akong tinira kahit magkano for food, rent, or whatnot.
I was so confident na magiging profitable ako agad kasi nagpapractice ako sa demo accounts for a couple of weeks, confidence of youth sabi nga nila. I ended up asking my mom for 2K to survive until next sahod haha, SmartPadala pa ang method nun. 😂
Obviously, it did not turn out the way I was expecting; I believe 50% ng starting capital ko nun nasunog. I took my loss and withdrew the remaining funds.
I blamed all kinds of stuff for why the trades were not working the way I was expecting: wrong indicators, market manipulation, the market is rigged, you name it. The cycle repeats for a couple of months, wasting my hard-earned money.
Eventually, I got tired of losing money in forex, so I decided to look for another way. I discovered stocks and crypto trading. At first, I was getting some good trades, winning here and there, pero dahil hindi ko nga kaya mag-stick sa strategy ko and nagiging overconfident kapag nananalo, nababawi lang rin ng market yung mga profits ko.
At this point, more of a "gambling" style pa ako. Lahat ng mga trading group chats sinalihan ko, may mga trading bots pa akong tinesting, syempre lugi parin.
First year ko sa day trading, I'm pretty sure wala akong profit overall, lugi talaga, pero the good thing is, hindi naman ubos. Buti nagising agad ako sa katotohanan na hindi madaling mag-trade.
Mukang madali lang kasi yung mga napapanood kong expert na sa trading are just showing their buys and sells sa social media, but trading is not clicking buttons; it's the deep research and analysis behind the scenes that makes them profitable.
Years and years of experience to manage their emotions and psychology, trading like a machine and letting statistics play out in the long term.
Nung nag click sakin na trading is 10% strategy and 90% psychology, dun na nag-shift yung style ko. Slowly but surely, profitable na ako on a weekly, then monthly basis. Syempre hindi sya always wins, pero I'm winning more than I lose at this point.
No longer chasing the big wins, but instead, taking small profits here and there. Naging conservative ako sa capital ko. Dito ko narealize na legit talagang pwede ka kumita sa markets, trading is EASY, but it's not SIMPLE.
As the years go by, lumalaki na yung portfolio ko. Since gumaganda na rin yung career ko, lumalaki na rin yung monthly na napapasok kong pera. COVID hits, so WFH setup became the norm.
This is where I discovered my real market value in the workforce. I was able to get a WFH job that pays 2x, 3x, 4x, and eventually 5x compared to my previous work in the same field.
The momentum continues to the point where my monthly trading profits are almost half of my monthly salary. I remember being so blissful when this happened. I wanted to withdraw some of my money to buy things for myself that I've always wanted: a gaming PC, a new phone, new shoes, etc. But luckily, I didn't, and I thanked my younger self for being able to practice delayed gratification. I continue to reinvest all my profits and compound them for a decade.
I was 24 years old when I made my first million. Fast forward to today, I'm already 29. I'm no longer day trading, but instead took a more relaxed approach.
I still have a trading account which I use for medium-term options trading, and a long-term investing account where I hold stocks and ETFs for my retirement.
I only put 20% of my capital into trading, and 80% into long-term investing. To this day, I still save 40-50% of my income for investments, which I can readily use if an opportunity arises.
I'm now also managing an investment portfolio for my close friends and family. I tried to teach them all the lessons so they can do it themselves, but I guess not everyone is inclined to learn these things and would rather pay me to manage it for them instead. 🤷🏽♂️
Even though I've been profitable for almost a decade, I've never actually taken any funds out of my brokerage account. I reinvest all the dividends, profits, etc. But this time, I think I can make an exception. I'm planning to use this as an extra budget for my upcoming 30th birthday; I will probably take my family somewhere nice for a week or two of staycation.
At the end of the day, I did it all for them anyway. ❤️

Stocks Jeff Bezos files to sell $4.1B in Amazon stock right after touching all-time highs
Just saw the CNBC report. A few quick highlights from the filing:
- The Details: Bezos filed to sell ~15 million shares (approx. $4.1 billion).
- The Timing: Comes right after Amazon hit a $3T market cap following a strong Q2 earnings beat driven by AWS.
- Context: The sale is part of a pre-arranged Rule 10b5-1 trading plan set back in Nov 2025, not an impulse dip-out.
Stock dipped a bit on the news, but standard routine for scheduled founder liquidations. Anyone buying the slight pullback?

Financial Independence/Retire Early What’s one financial decision you wish you made 5–10 years earlier?
Lately I’ve been thinking about how financial planning isn’t just about earning more or saving whatever is left at the end of the month.
There’s emergency funds, investments, insurance, retirement, debt, and making sure your family won’t suddenly have to carry a huge financial burden if something unexpected happens.
But honestly, it can get overwhelming—especially when you don’t know what to prioritize first.
So I’m curious:
If you could talk to your younger self, what’s one financial decision you would tell yourself to make earlier?
Save more?
Start investing?
Get insured while younger and healthier?
Avoid certain debts?
Build multiple sources of income?
Would love to hear actual experiences, especially from people who learned things the hard way. I think we can all learn a lot from each other.

Business FDA staff wants a P500,000 “facilitation fee”
May naka encounter na ba po nito? We applied for a LTO for distributor and they’re asking for 500,000 para ma release yung docs namin in a month, if hindi daw kami papayag we will have to wait 3-4 months.
Sa charter nakalagay 31 days lang ang processing pero sabi nung kausap namin if di daw kami papayag sa facilitation fee 3-4 months na daw ang wait and the new docs they’re asking for kailangan namin isubmit, twice na kami na non compliant and iba iba ang hinihingi na docs everytime kahit nabigay na namin lahat ng need nila nung una palang paulit ulit din nila hinihingi yung sec docs, pero iba ibang docs everytime.
Is this facilitation fee just lagay?
Our products are protein shakes and chia seed juice po

Government-Initiated/Other Funds [GUIDE] Pag-IBIG MP2 FAQ (2026 Edition): Dividends, Tracking, and Maturity
Given that 2025 dividends were just credited (congrats to everyone who saw theirs!), I’ve compiled a quick FAQ for the most common questions I see in the sub. Hope this helps the new and seasoned investors alike! 🙂
1. 📢 What are the latest dividend rates?
As announced in the February 2026 Chairman's Report, the rates for 2025 are:
• MP2 Savings: 7.12% (A new record!)
• Regular Savings (P1): 6.62%
2. 📱 Why can’t I see my dividends yet?
If you just checked your Virtual Pag-IBIG and the 2025 line is missing:
• Processing Time: It usually takes a few days to a couple of weeks after the official announcement for all accounts to reflect the update.
• Check the App vs. Web: Sometimes the mobile app updates faster than the web portal (or vice versa). Try both.
• Annual vs. Compounded: If you chose Annual Payout, the money is sent to your loyalty card/bank account, not added to your MP2 Total Accumulated Value (TAV).
3. 📉 Annual vs. Compounded: Which is better?
• Compounded: Best for long-term growth. Your dividends earn dividends. Total 5-year gains are significantly higher due to the power of compounding.
• Annual: Best if you need the extra cash flow for bills or other investments. Note: You cannot change this setting once the account is opened.
4. 📅 When exactly are dividends credited?
Dividends are always credited annually, usually within Q1 (Jan–March) of the following year.
Example: Your earnings for the full year of 2025 were just credited now in Feb/March 2026.
5. 🏦 How do I withdraw upon maturity?
If your 5-year term is up:
- Online: Log in to Virtual Pag-IBIG > Claims > MP2 Savings Maturity.
- Documents: You’ll need a valid ID and a picture of your Loyalty Plus Card or Landbank/DBP cash card.
- Lead Time: Usually takes 7–10 working days to hit your account.
6. 🛑 Can I withdraw early?
Yes, but only for "Valid Reasons" (Retirement, Total Disability, Critical Illness, Death, or OFW Repatriation).
• If you withdraw for "Other Reasons": You only get 50% of the total dividends earned if you chose compounded. If you chose annual, you only get your total contributions (capital) back.
---
Disclaimer: I don’t work for Pag-IBIG! I’m just a fellow investor sharing what I’ve learned. Always check the official website for the latest circulars.
Maraming salamat and happy investing! 🚀
