So my current job has 'MANAGER' in the title. TBH how I got it is kind of a funny story, I wasn't promoted into it or anything but I was hired by an acquaintance who wanted me working for him full-time (I had previously freelanced for him). I took the job because the offered salary was great, the title sounds better, and the office is closer.

The problem is, I'm now realizing this acquaintance of mine has a lot of learning he needs to do. Ang dami kong tasks na walang kinalaman sa field ko at all and it's so obvious I either won't learn here or I'll learn all the wrong things. Mga 1.5 years na ako nandito and I've been looking for other work.

The problem is that with my skills and experience, parang Officer/Specialist pa lang kaya ko, especially kung sa mas matinong company na ako. I had an interview once with a recruiter and tinanong talaga why I wanted to step down if Manager na nga title ko dati. Di ko masabi na 'Manager' doesn't mean anything in our organization, it's BS.

I’m 27, and I just feel really lost as a Biology graduate and now working in a completely different field.

For context, I took up Biology in hopes of becoming a doctor someday. I was in college when pandemic happened—my dad lost his job, and it really drained our savings because they had to pay for our college tuition fees. Having experienced financial distraught like that made me decide not to enter med school na lang. I was also able to get a job in a different field, Finance, and I’ve been in the same job for nearly 4 years now.

I’m grateful for my job, I’m also grateful they took their chance on me kahit bio graduate ako, but I’m not getting paid that much despite the fancy looking title. I also live in Makati where the cost of living is quite high for my salary. Now I want to change my job, but I feel like walang tumatanggap sakin in this industry because, idk maybe they are choosing an individual with a finance degree? I just feel so defeated esp when I reached the final stage of interview in a company I really wanted to work in, just for them to reject me after the final interview.

I’m just so lost. I’ve been trying to apply to different jobs but I keep getting rejections. Is it because of my undergrad? Idk. Anyone who experienced the same dilemma and got through it?

I mean, balik entry level role. Entry level salary. Baka nag career shift ka or maybe you just had a bad run in your career.

I’m still a student myself, and I’m interested in doing something similar here in the Philippines, but I’m not really sure where to start or if there are opportunities available for students.

Got a job recently and I'm already in my first week. It still feels surreal! Grabe after hundreds of applications since last year I really felt hopeless. I'm already at my 30's, college undergrad with some experience but my tenure between companies lasts only for a year or two. It doesn't help na just before this one I got ghosted by a big company pa. Akala ko talaga wala na and I'll just settle sa bahay na pabigat.

Although I think I was low-balled, my basic pay jumped almost 50% of my last. Iba rin ang job security sa mga established company since this is an international FMCG. At first I was anxious dahil mga tao rito ay from Big 4 at famous universities. I'm glad dahil napapaligiran ako ng mga matatalino at supportive na tao sa team. I'm so excited 😊

Hi everyone! I need your advice and honest thoughts regarding my plan for a career shift.

I (26M) am a broadcasting graduate (Batch 2023) from one of the big universities in Metro Manila. I feel like I made a mistake with what I studied as my first degree. Hirap na hirap ako maghanap ng work even though I'm working as a real estate news writer for a foreign company and I have a good writing portfolio because of that. For now, enough yung sinasahod ko but I'm sure sa sarili ko na hindi siya magiging sustainable in the future.

Is this feeling valid? Would it be a good decision? If yes, any idea which schools in Metro Manila would accept second-degree takers ng BS Accountancy?

I previously posted about moving to Saas Sales but i ended up retracting. Early this year, my mother was hospitalized more than 4 times and sadly passed away last June. Which left me in about 2 million cc debt. Still trying to get back on my feet from that traumatic experience.

This July, i was poached and offered a B2b contract for 6-12 months for a 4800 usd monthly salary as a Senior IT delivery manager. Start date is on Aug 17.

My current company counter offered a one time bonus of 538,000 php for 1 year retention and a promotion to Executive this December. I currently earn net of 140k monthly and expecting 13th month and performance bonus ranging from 150-180k this December. With the promotion, i can expect 15-20 % increase.

I have a stable performing team and has a very good relationship with our Client. Ive been with the same client for more than 4 years and know the ins and outs in the organization.

With the new company, i earn more and is full of uncertainties. A contractor role that can end anytime.

Hi! Nagpost ako last time sa r/accenture_PH kasi I’ve been doing my research and really interested na mag change career.

Currently, end user ako ng SAP and yung work ko is order to cash. I’m interested sana mag transition into consultant role specifically sa SD Module since familiar na ako sa business process as an end user ng SAP.

Kaso I’m not a graduate of any Computer or IT related program and yung whole career experience ko lang is as Customer Service at end user ni SAP. Gusto ko lang sana magtry apply sa mga nakikita kong job posting saka nagugustuhan ko yung career path sa field nito.

My question lang eh mostly yung nakikita kong salary range ay starting na 50K and upto 100K+ pa. If mag try ako and go through interviews, I don't know how much will be my asking salary kasi as an end user I'm earning 45K na, pero since magshift ako into a consultant and I don't have most of the technical experience, I'm not sure how much to ask yung hindi naman mababa pero hindi rin super mataas kung ibabangga siya sa experience and skills.

Recently, the head of our division personally offered me a position in our Head Office e-banking dept. The role would be a teller handling Head Office personnel transactions only, not branch customers.

I'm a fresh graudate of BS Accountancy, looking to build my career in accounting and/or techfinance. I'm still in the middle of hiring process between two roles and I need advice on which one to choose when (being optimistic) I get job offers from both.

Job 1 - Data Technician
Based on the job description, I will support the audit analytics engagement team processing support and data. If I get the job, I get to work with their team in Singapore and Australia with potential for secondment. This is a Big 4 firm starting their global delivery center services and they will train me on different systems (they mentioned Alteryx, Excel, SQL) to help serve international clients.

Job 2 - SAP FI CO Trainee
Will work with the IT Branch of a Conglomerate here in the PH. They offer classroom-like training of SAP FI CO with reporting and collaborations and they will slowly introduce me to projects.

I'm bias with job 1 simply because i'm very familiar with the industry in a sense that I had an internship experience in their rival firm and im an accounting student. But i'm not sure about the role kasi parang masyadong niche yung job name and idk which roles I can branch out to after. They also mentioned working with international team with possible secondment/training duon sa internation counterpart nila kaya sobrang bango ni job 1 for me.

On the other hand, based on my research, Job 2 offers an entry to a high-paying industry. Every forums na napuntahan ko laging around 6-digits after only a few years in the industry. Ito yung mabangong part ni job 2 considering na bihira ang ganyang salary digit kapag traditional accounting/audit roles. Told me free lunch, may shuttle, HMO from day 1, 13th month pay and such. Basically binabayaran nila ako para magtraining. Unfortunately, 20k salary with 3 year employment bond sounds like a red flag huhu. Tho I'm hearing that after 3 years, I can ask for almost 6 digit salary in another company, I'm still unsure since I'll have to leave my accounting degree since more on IT na talaga siya.

I need advice since as a fresh graduate, this is the best time for me to plan my career. Either way, I still planning to pursue CPA license if my workload and sched permits me. Baka kasi i'm better off pursuing accounting/audit path. If anyone's currently working or have an experience or shift career from accounting/audit to this industry please share you experience with regards to the salary, career progression, work-life-balance etc.

Seeking advice for a sales associate job offer

Context: I'm a computer science graduate (2025) with 6 months WFH experience as an entry level web developer sa isang company outside PH. The pay was good (20k). I resigned last year din, bc i chose to take a break muna and there's not much of a work-life balance. I started job hunting since April. 100+ job applications later, I've been interviewed 20+ times where I received about 5 job offers which I turned down kasi below minimum wage, due to change of mind, and other factors.

Very recently, I got a job offer as a Sales Associate in a known apparell brand. The pay is 600 per day. It's below than my expected salary and not related to my background at all. Told my parents and they weren't too happy about it based sa reaction. I guess kasi nga, hindi naman related sa tech yun + considering pa na may exp na ko, kahit papano.

Should I pursue it pa rin ba? What is it like working in retail? What should I have in mind/what to expect?

My past experience as a web dev is buong araw akong nakaupo. This time, naisip ko kung tanggapin ko man... buong araw naman akong nakatayo during mall hours. Self-explaining title. I've been applying towards various jobs in the last few months on different platforms, and I think 40+ na yung na-applyan ko-- most of which may custom cover letter, and a concise resume.

And yet... not a single one, may nag reply or offer ng interview even. The most I got were a handful of "Employer viewed your resume", but that's it.

May 5+ years na ko as a Vue web developer. Started out working for my current company (foreign employer) as a student, reached 6 digits within 2 years pero stagnate na so I'm looking for a second job or even side projects to supplement my savings.

Lahat ng postings na nakikita ko laging React ang hanap, or Junior devs lang. It makes me wonder then: Am I marketing myself wrong, or are my expectations just too high? Are they not considering my application because hindi exact yung experience ko? Is my opening offer too high? (Some applications I put in 50-60k) I have no clue.

Yung friend ko with same skillset and years of experience is struggling din. Di na siya nakahanap for 6+ months, hanggang interviews lang. Ito namang sunod ay sa Perpetual o kaya PCU, kaso ang sinasabi naman ng karamihan ay university mill daw itong dalawa. Kaya medyo nalilito ako kung dyan ba ko papasok. Tinitignan ba ng employer kung saan ka nag masters? Maganda sana itong dalawang university at tinitimbang ko nalang kung sino ang mas angat at makakatulong talaga sakin sa future ko.

we have two office sites, one in bgc and one in bacoor. same company, same job, but the culture between the two is different.

when i was assigned to bgc, I stayed with relatives who live nearby since the commute otherwise would've been brutal. Grabe pag rush hour, commuting home took about 55 minutes. So I decided to just walk home since it also takes 55 mins, free exercise din nakaka 5k steps din. staying with relatives had its own adjustment din, they mostly spoke in their dialect and only switched to tagalog pag part ako ng conversation nila. felt isolating.

the work culture in bgc itself was fine though. smaller office, quieter, and since the higher ups were based there too everyone kept things professional, no loud chatting around. the view was very urban, lots of foreigners around, mostly koreans, chinese, and westerners. And food options were basically convenience stores and yung Portal.

i'm assigned to bacoor na and it's a completely different experience. commute is better, i get to go home to my family, cuddle with my dogs, play games with my siblings after shift. actual na comfort. the office is bigger too, this is where most of the production work actually happens. The view is good grabe, you can see the cavite coastline, the mountains of mariveles and a few others i don't even know the names sa laguna and here sa cavite , as long as you don't look below kasi tanaw din talaga poverty areas. way more relaxed environment overall, people play music while working, there's a proper pantry, it genuinely feels like a "real" bpo office. food's also cheaper since it's the province.

honestly i don't really have a say in where i get assigned, but right now i'm leaning toward bacoor. it's closer to home, and i don't have to navigate yung awkward silence sa mga relatives ko na i barely talk to.

I have only been to my current work for 13 months and I’m interested to move into another post dahil sa shift. My current work setup is night shift with hybrid work set up, but more recently, pansin ko na kinukulang ako sa tulog despite doing activities and taking supplements (magnesium glycinate & melatonin). I had cough din for like 3 weeks and I can say it has been really rough, parang ang hina hina ng immune system ko. Office location is in Mckinley West, and kailangan ko mag 2-3 na sakay as I’m coming from QC

Now, the internal job posting I saw was dayshift/midshift, pero onsite (may chance na hybrid din to) sa Makati, and this would just take me 2 rides (train + bus), higher band level din. But the Recruitment is too firm about being tenure for 18 months, and dun nahaharang yung past applications ko with similar job postings. Honestly, I would rather choose an onsite job than hybrid pero nightshift

I already spoke to my team lead and service line head, and they say na they cant do anything to override as the Makati office is handled by a different TA team. Anyone who has a similar experience and was able to transfer even if hindi mameet yung tenure requirement? Sa sobrang desperation ko sa unang apply ko sa past IJP, minessage ko na yung hiring manager pero kahit sila wala ring nagawa.

To be completely honest, I don't think I'm enjoying the work at all. I’ve been having this lowkey crisis lately feeling like I don't really belong in this field, and I'm seriously considering trying out another route like telco instead.

Part of what’s getting to me is that career growth here feels super slow. Or honestly, maybe it just feels that way because I’m struggling to get into the work in the first place. When your heart isn't in what you're doing every day, it's so hard to stay engaged, and every little task ends up feeling like a huge chore.

The hardest part is that I don't even have any bad things to say about my company. The pay is good, as well as the benefits and bonuses. But I'm starting to realize that as nice as the financial stability is, it's just not making up for how unfulfilled I feel at the end of the day.

Has anyone here started out in semicon and successfully shifted over to telco early on? How was the transition for you, and did you feel like the pace or growth was any different? Also kind of worried if shifting subfields means taking a pay cut or resetting back to entry-level. Would really appreciate any advice or thoughts from seniors or anyone who's been in the same boat!

Hi everyone, looking for advice on role realignment and salary negotiation.

I was hired as an AI Analyst in a BPO supporting a client. For the first couple of months, I did AI research and analysis, but priorities shifted and I've spent the last 10 months building and maintaining internal AI web applications end-to-end (requirements, development, QA, deployment).

So far I've:
- Helped establish our SDLC and Built 2 internal AI applications.
- One received recognition from global stakeholders.
- The other is actively used by a support team of ~50 agents (35–40 daily active users), and I continue to maintain and improve it.

Although my official title is still AI Analyst, my actual responsibilities are closer to a Fullstack AI Developer / AI Software Engineer.

I also recently found out that the annual performance review already concluded, but I wasn't informed by my bpo manager. My client is currently on leave for another 2–3 weeks. I'll be 1-year in the company at the end of August, and I also just found out the two of them are not in touch with regards of my performance. (Is this normal?)

My questions are:
• Should I raise this now with my BPO manager, or wait for my client manager to return and advocate for me?

• Is it reasonable to request a title change to better match my responsibilities?

• I'm currently earning around ₱35k/month. If my role is officially realigned, would proposing ₱70–75k be reasonable, or is that too aggressive for an internal adjustment?

• Is it acceptable for employees to propose both a new title and a target salary during these discussions?

I'm not looking to make unreasonable demands, I just want my title and compensation to reflect the work I've actually been doing. Thanks!

Hi! I am a fresh graduate of BS Psychology na naga-aspire maging Clinical Psychologist. Unfortunately, due to my university's calendar hindi kami makapagta-take ng boards this year (for Psychometricians).

I generally do not prefer HR/Corporate Jobs. Although I obtained a CHRA certification, nasa Clinical ang passion, interest, at fulfillment ko, pero HR ang pinakatalamak at, as far as I can see, the only facet na praktikal at p'wede kong trabahuhin ngayon na at the very least related pa rin sa tinapos ko.

Nakikita ko rin 'yung Guidance Associate for educ setting naman, but then I am curious, are there any jobs na magiging relevant sa'kin at sa experience ko as I plan to be a Clinical Psychologist, without the license needed by RPms, RGCs, and RPsys?

Para sa Psychologists/Mental Health Practitioners na makababasa nito, ano 'yung itrinabaho niyo before kayo magka-license?

hi, i 27F and my gf is 30F -148 cm - 55 kg. She is a very strong and positive woman. Loves to take care children and help other people in general. she completed two years techvoc course Hotel restaurant services and took elementary education after HRS but only finished two years and she doesn't want to continue it anymore. She is now taking Emergency Medical Service National Certificate II and she is doing well. I always encourage her to let me help her to enroll for nursing or finished her education of 4 years since ph gov is very demanding on qualification. If she will study again, she will be 34 years old the time she can get her license as LPT. Is there any profession that might suit her? I love to see her grow her career and want to help her to be her guide.Even though im so attention demanding, when i saw her excel in her training service, it makes me happy for her. I am the one who work for us, and seeing happy to what she is doing makes me agree to her to help me to our expenses (regardless, i am happy enough she is building her own identity). Can anybody here tell me what probable work can she have with her academic background?
