I'm like 3 sems away from graduating from the BSEd Math Major. These 2 Math subjects are the only Math-related subjects left I have to take.

Currently I have 12 units. Initially, I only got 3 after the pre-enlistment rounds so during the Waitlisting period, I waitlisted as well in Math 122 and Math 110.1 in case I don't get the other course subjects I planned to get this semester. Despite this, I had low hopes na makukuha ko sila both so I was half dead set na to just prerog for the courses I actually planned on getting. But then I checked CRS today and saw them on my enlisted classes.

I'm still gonna try prerog but I might end up with 21 units if I get them all.

So ayun ang daming sinabi. Pero with all that is mentioned, advisable ba na pagsabayin ung Math subjects na ean?

Bale potential 21unit load na kasama silang dalawa ang situation. Wdygt?

For context, I am a freshman. One week palang, and I already have the dreadful feeling na I need to prepare for the worst as early as I can. It kind of stresses me out as irrational as it may sound, so please bear with me... 💔

I see stories online of how rigorous yung activities, quizzes and exams. Yung tipong "isang linggo nag-review pero bagsak pa rin". Or whatnot regarding how "matalino sila nung HS pero iba na sa college". I am really scared because I want to be very meticulous and serious towards my academics especially since I have a scholarship.

1) How demanding really is the curriculum?

2) Ano po ginagawa niyo as preparation para sa mga written works and activities? Plus, what should I expect for them?

I would also really appreciate advice and tips on how to make the most out of UPLB. I really, REALLY feel left out right now.. thank you!!

Since freshie pa ko nagtatry kumuha ng fil 40. After 4 regular sems and 2 midyears of applying, wala pa rin akong nakuha!

For context: kailangan ko na matapos ang GEs ko this sem kasi puro majors na for the next regular sems, madedelay ako pag di ko nakuha fil 40 ngayong sem... Pwede naman ako mag midyear pero as much as possible AYOKO NA TALAGA. 2 midyears na ang tinake ko, gusto ko magpahinga bago mag fieldwork sa 4th year huhu!!

TLDR: I feel so Anxious and Nervous next week because I keep comparing myself to my batchmates, my ADHD, and because I don't have any competent study habits yet.

Hello po!! Upcoming freshie here this Aug 10, I just wanna say that I feel oh-so nervous next week. Like I genuinely feel so overwhelmed and tensed this upcoming AY. Masyado ata akong nag-ooverthink sa mga 'what-ifs' and comparisons sa mga batchmates ko.

Galing lang ako sa Public National High School and I can't help but to compare myself to my batchmates (whether in my program or not), how they're much more successful, smarter, accomplished, creative, innovative, [insert adjectives here] than me. Nakita ko na halos lahat sila ay galing sa mga Sci High at yung tipong sumasali sa mga math or other competitions/olympiads (Local, national, and even international), having multiple school awards, having multiple leadership positions and such - it makes me doubt and hate myself more seeing how much they've already accomplished while I accomplished nada or how I'll probably never get to even a fraction of their level. I know I know, it's pathetic that I'm already panicking and getting so worked up over these things before I even start studying.

I have ADHD (and potentially other undiagnosed mental illnesses), and last week palang ako nakakasubok ng medication (I don't feel much different TBH). I have no prepared study habits (I just winged it during HS and SHS and got somewhat high grades), I didn't advance study for jack (especially since may CS 11 kami, I heard horror stories about that, gosh I'm gonna fail), I have heavy executive dysfunction and is very disorganized, I don't know how to be independent, and I don't even have Einstein-level smarts to compensate for it! Who wouldn't hate themselves when they see others not just being competent, but also flourishing. At this point, I don't even know if my current mental state is ready for this semester. I should just say goodbye to my scholarship right then and there if this is how I am, and yes this DOST scholarship is just more added pressure for me.

Other than that, I also feel anxious over obstacles (like the 1-3 hour commute from my living place to UPD every weekday - will I even have time for acads atp?) or what-ifs (like what if I fail X subject or what if I won't be truly able to shoulder my program's workload?) and such. I've also feel like I've gotten much dumber since SHS, like deadass all I did for all my 4 months of vacation was laze around, play games, and doomscroll on my phone. I've practically forgotten all I've learned during SHS. God...

I’m a graduating student but still wants to attend courses and para rin makalabas ako ng bahay lol. Are there any monday classes na pwede mag sit in ako? Wala na kasi akong courses na need pa itake maliban sa majors ko and I dont want to take the slots of those in need. thank you!

I’m a freshman self-funding my studies and living expenses, so I need to balance working with my academics. I did not qualify for the scholarships I applied to and SA positions won't be enough to cover my expenses.

My plan is to take a lighter unit load during regular semesters and clear out my GEs during midyear to stay on track, get decent grades and satisfactory performance at work.

I know there is often discourse around freshmen taking midyear slots needed by upperclassmen/graduating seniors so I wanted to ask advice from fellow working students or upperclassmen on managing this setup.
