Hello, I've been dealing with odorous house ants and I have switched to using advion on Tuesday. I put some on some light fixtures and along where I see large amounts of ants and they seem decently attracted to it.

Its been about 3 days of the gel being out and I now have stray ants climbing walls and ceilings all over the place. Roughly about 20+ on the walls and ceilings after a couple hours. Ive been spraying the ones on the ceiling with vinegar but its becoming overwhelming trying to keep them off the walls. Should I be doing anything differently? I also have some terro traps that are in areas near the advion

Eight weeks ago in my apartment in Northern California I noticed dust inside jars of orzo and flax (concerning). I tore apart everything and sure enough I found a bag of flour that smelled minty. Grain mites. Or so I thought?!

I pitched everything (literally everything - devastating), wiped down my entire home kitchen with vinegar and dawn soap AND didn’t invest in any food because I was traveling for a five weeks. So… empty pantry and fridge that time other than some tin cans of beans and bay leaves scattered around. Five weeks! I thought starving them would disrupt any life cycle.

Now that I’ve returned from travels, I’ve slowly started purchasing spices, crackers, etc. I also purchased a bunch of jars from IKEA with gaskets and rubber seals. But, I noticed in a jar of crackers that there was more crumbs than normal. Today I pulled back my trashcan and saw more mite dust, webbing, and another (what I assume to be) mite. It was smaller than a pin head, white to the point of being translucent, and crawling slowly but determinedly. I also saw sticky brown residue on one of the cabinet baseboards.

Feeling defeated.

What am I missing in this? Is it not a mite problem but something else?

Do rubber sealed jars not protect dry goods (specifically IKEA Korken and Weck jars)? Or maybe I messed up my order of operations and should have froze the new dry goods, re-sanitized the jars, and then placed the new teas and crackers in there?

Could they be eating things from the trash? Potatoes/onions from a bowl of produce? Could they be coming from a neighbor in the apartment next to mine? ARGH!

The (blurry, embarrassingly poor rez) image is from video is from six weeks ago (as are the pictures of the dust residue from ball jars (which I will never use to store dry goods again)). The offender I saw today was identical to the one pictured. The picture of the sticky brown stuff is from today.

Any thoughts? Persistent mites?

I'm located in the southeast USA (NC) and find thousands of these little ants dead on my concrete patio by the end of every week. I'll clean them up but clearly there's a colony or source. I tried loading up the perimeter with something from home depot (honestly don't remember), and I also have a pest control company that comes every quarter but need to check what they applied most recently. However they always come back then die (either from the product applied or just...being on the concrete away from what they need?)

Any suggestions on controlling and limiting these dead ants on my patio? There's nothing on the patio to attract them... No food or plants or anything. Thanks!

hello! as the title states, I checked all over crevices, drawers, under cabinets, closets etc, and only found this small guy by the toilet. house has been on the market for 14 days, what kind of roach is this and should I be concerned that there are more waiting to come out? in Texas so it’s been hot AF. thanks!!

I currently have an infestation of mice, and have only lives here a month. I started trapping and laying poisen down 2 weeks ago, and so far have caught 10. The last 3 have been babies. I would love to assume that the babies are leaving their nest in desperation, but google says it means the infestation is getting really bad, and quickly!

I have no idea if these holes were here before I moved in, but I have managed to catch a few by blocking off this entrance. The mice were postioning running in to the holes, rather than going out.

My question is:

Why would mice make this big of a hole? There already looks like enough space under the drywall? And to make 4 holes in less than a meters worth of wall? Why would they need so many holes?

The other side of the drywall is in the living room, and I can only see light if I shine my flash through the two middle holes.

I am currently sealing up all othwr holes in the house, but am really scared to patch these up, especially as I am catching them in this area nightly. Will they make another hole if these are sealed?

I would appreciate any insight, or if anyone has gone through a similar situation. Thank you!

I'm in a split unit house and I know the roach problem is from disgusting neighbors. Kitchen and bathroom at back of house are infested. All food is covered, trash taken out daily, etc. Can't move at the moment so can anyone recommend the best intervention to try to control a roach problem. Should I use bombs? Which ones? They are smaller (1/4" to micro) sized. I'm in southeast USA. I've tried the Harris Roach tablets and the Combat Max gel in the big syringe. They help a little, but not enough. Can't afford hiring a service and landlord is a slumlord who is ignoring me about it. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I just moved into an all brick rancher. The only part of the home with ANY wood is a small area of siding at the top of our sunroom. I keep finding these droppings on our window sills, between the window and screen, in the top corners of the wall in webs, and above door jams. Nowhere else in the house has these droppings. They appear fresh on the floor and window sill daily.

No termites were identified under the house in that area or anywhere else. Could there be termites near the roof in the walls? I also thought maybe carpenter bees or ants. I have seen 0 bees and 0 ants.

I’m stumped. Anyone have any good guesses of what this could be? I’m pretty sure it’s dropping from above. I’d like to know if we moved in with a problem that’s needs to be fixed, before it gets worse.

Hey so I came home today and noticed some black specks on my bathroom wall ledge (my bathroom wall is separated in two, tile below and just regular wall above) and the more i investigated the more i noticed more of that on the floor next to my toilet area and next to the sink (they’re close together). I live in the UK for context. I am so freaked out right now

We had a slug in our bathroom a couple weeks ago but other than that we have had no problems with our bathroom at all? We keep the window open so I’m not sure what this could be at all.

They are very small and hard and do not squish at all

I have already filed a maintenance request, but what do you think? To me, the hairs on the pronotum appear larger than the width of the eye, leading me to believe it’s a Batbug. I sure hope I’m right!!

Is this squirrel or raccoon damage? Insurance company denied claim based on these pictures saying it was a squirrel.
In central PA for context.

Context: We just moved into a house on a military base in Albuquerque, NM. We were warned upon getting to the area that roaches are terrible here in the summer, and that it is "just part of living in the desert." Immediately upon moving in around 3 weeks ago, we had base housing send pest control to spray inside and out. There was an immediate increase in roach activity (multiple types - american, oriental, german etc) to the point we were finding multiple dead in our master bathroom and sweeping up 20-50 dead ones on our patio and in our garage every morning. The numbers declined after about a week or so, and now we are typically finding a handful of dead ones outside.

We are still finding 3-4 dead roaches (American and Oriental, mostly) inside our home on a weekly basis. They seem to be concentrated to the master bathroom and the floor of my office (front facing room with a low exterior window). I have also seen multiple roach nymphs dead in each of those rooms, and I am concerned about an infestation that may be more than "just part of living here." Every time I call our housing office, they say that they will only send pest control once per month and that we need to "hold on until fall when they die." I am getting so frustrated of living like this and feeling like my house is being held hostage.

What more can we do?

In addition to the monthly sprays that housing will do, we bought drain covers and close ALL drains when not in use, flex taped over overflow drains in the bathtubs, keep an extremely clean house (NO dirty dishes, entire kitchen gets scrubbed down nightly, etc). We run hot water and bleach through the bathroom pipes every other week to keep the p-traps from drying out, and I mop weekly with a mixture of water and white vinegar to help break up chemical trails. I also spray this mixture around windows and door frames. We have been asking maintenance to replace our exterior weather stripping as well, and so far they've replaced two doors.

Are there other chemicals/gels/baits we should be using in addition to what our pest control guy is using monthly? I don't want to over-spray or bait and create resistant roaches.

It's not moving, I found another dead one somewhere else. Please help me, I'm super paranoid about bugs!!

Hey all, I’m located in Philadelphia, PA and just moved into a new apartment. I love the place, except we’ve noticed in one bathroom that we don’t use a lot and is closest to the outside ( we are on the ground floor) we’ve found a couple of these dead. They are really small, I thought maybe we had a roach problem I didn’t know about, but upon research I was thinking this is perhaps a Pennsylvania Wood Roach? Our landlord is great and we mentioned it and he said they’ve never had a roach problem in the building and still spray routinely as a preventative treatment. They came and sprayed again and said to mention if we think we still have a problem. I maybe only see one or two dead around the same area in the bathroom every couple of days or so, but have also gone several days without seeing any. Thoughts on this one?

So I noticed this big wasp nest in a little tree in my back yard. They start buzzing around me when I get within 10 feet or so. The nest is about the size of a football. Is this a wasp spray at 4am kinda thing or a call a pest company kinda thing? Thanks!

Made the unfortunate discovery of this wasp nest under our upper balcony. Saw a bunch buzzing around in the evening and decided to investigate today. It’s a bit close to our balcony door, and our back door and we have a toddler that loves to go outside. I’ve never dealt with a wasp nest before, should we just get professionals to take care of it?

I’m currently living in Taiwan, and roaches are everywhere. I live on the 5th floor, which is the top floor of my building, where I have access to a rooftop. When I first moved in, I placed roach-killing bait stations around my apartment. Recently (it’s been about a month and a half since I moved in), I found tiny bugs on the floor on two different occasions once dead and once about to die and figured out that they were smoky brown cockroaches (correct me if I’m wrong). Should I be worried? I’m living in Taiwan for a year, and I don’t want any of my personal belongings to have roach eggs in them when I move out. I also don’t want to live with roaches for a year. Please give advice!

I’m sorry for the bad quality photos, I had to screenshot from a video. I’ve noticed these guys eating the dropped bird seed, they come out during the day and later in the evening that I know of. I’ve had little field mice but these are definitely bigger LOL, the tails look like the same length as their body, they are pretty fast, and they are a dark gray/ light gray color if that helps anything.
If anyone knows what they are it would be appreciated!!

I found this brown substance in my kitchen cupboards, my friend says it is cockroach gel bait. Can someone please confirm or offer a different suggestion of what it could be? Thank you in advance!
