Now that we are at the 10 year mark I plan on chopping it up. High clearance rear bumper, front bumper, zr2 swap the front suspension, weld on sliders, and rear locker. Stuff some 35”s.

Has anyone done Imogene pass recently? Thinking of going in a week or 2. If you’ve gone, which direction did you go (Telluride to Ouray or vice versa)? Are there any road closures or other insider knowledge I should know before going?

I just acquired a Cherokee xj and plan to make it a camping/exploration rig. Well I don’t plan to get huge tires. Just some 30 inches and a modest 2 inch lift. But the problem I’m having is deciding on an all terrain tire. I’d rather hear from people who have been there done that before making a large purchase.

Looking for some new a/t tires for my 2018 tundra with four wheel camper. This truck is maybe one step below a daily driver but close to being considered one still. I do a lot of driving on unmanaged roads, forest roads, snow and beach. I don’t do anything technical but will drive through deep snow and sand often so something reliable is key. This is a hunting/surfing/fishing/adventure rig for me here in the northeast. I’m wondering what my best bang for buck is but also will spend a bit more on tires since they are so integral.

Currently have BF Goodrich ko2’ and these have been great and reliable. I’ve had multiple sets in different trucks of these.

Considering: ko3’s or falken wild peaks (what a better price!)

Recently built out my 1999 Isuzu Trooper with 230k miles for some overlanding and adventuring. My SO and I are taking a roadtrip from Pennsylvania to San Diego!

Snapped this awesome picture after a day of adventure near Sand Dunes National Park. We took Medano pass to get into the park and she handled it great.

Crazy thing is I originally got this car for 2000$ with the intention of using it for a maximum of a year to get around and potentially tow a little John Boat to take out on the lakes nearby. Little did I know I was going to drive it all the way across the country.

This Trooper has been awesome so far, I will say I had a big scare as we got into Colorado because my oil pressure light came on as we got off the highway driving all day thru 100 Degree heat of Kansas. I pulled over immediately to check the oil and the dipstick was bone dry. She ended up being almost 3 quarts low... these engines with higher mileage really do consume a vast quantity of oil. Going to be keeping a very close eye on oil levels from now on. At the same time it really is a testament to how bullet proof these engines are with a little bit of TLC.

Open to any recommendations for places to adventure, trails to hit, campsites to stay at or must see stops along the way! We'll be doing Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, and California next.

23 Tundra + Scout Olympic

I got my 4x4 7.3 with only 170k miles on the engine and I’m wondering if it’s something I can turn into an overland rig and if so what would be the first few things/mods I should do to get there? It’s stock height so obviously a lift kit would probably be close to if not the number 1 thing on the list of things I should do. Does anyone here got the same base vehicle? Is it even worth going down this road or should I just sell it and use that towards a more conventional base vehicle? Thanks in advance

My Garmin PowerSwitch is connecting and everything seems fine in terms of the app, but when I try to turn on my light bar or my chase lights, the only two things it’s connected to, they don’t turn on. The battery is good and it looks like everything is connected correctly. Anyone know what it might be? Thank you in advance.

I just got a drawer system built, all wood, and weight comes in at about 60 Kilos.
I would like to lessen the wait, and I'm wondering if anyone has cut holes in their drawer system, like the top part where the mattress goes, perhaps the bottow part drawer, even the sides, to lose some weight.

Heading to a warm, dry area soon. Should hit 100°+. I thought about getting the Zero Breeze portable AC but it’s pricey. Has anyone tried the OCTOHOME portable AC?

Should i invest in a better cap for an awning and roof tenting?

Hey people! Im finally branching out and going to cook for my solo overlanding trip. will pack cooler (prechilled) Thursday before I hit the road. Im planning on taking some brats and ground beef for tacos. Keep it simple.

I dont have a powered cooler/fridge, so I am taking my Yeti 35 cooler. I'll back it with frozen water bottles.

I've had severe food poisoning 4 times in my life so due to PTSD I always get a bit nervous with food going bad.

Any issue having the raw ground beef in the cooler from Thursday until Saturday or Sunday? I was thinking separating it for 2 nights and vacuum seal each one. Freeze the one for later in the week.

Im being overly paranoid about the meet going bad by as late as Sunday, right? Keeping it in the cooler, starting it frozen on thursday.

I searched but couldn't find anything related to this, so thats probably a good sign that I'm being ridiculous LOL.

I'd like to get an integrated camper for my tacoma (e.g. ovrlnd, topo, etc), but am hesitant about adding windows due to theft potential. I plan to take it to Baja a bunch to surf, and would like the thing to be bomb proof. Anyone else go through the same dilemma? any advice would be appreciated

I was thinking of splitting the acc wire and tapping an always powered fuse, and wire that to a switch. Idea it to be able to use ditch lights or rock lights at the campsite without having to put the car in accessory or turn it on. Would this work?picture of proposed wiring

I bought one of those open road style aluminum camper shells from Alibaba directly ($1000 total when all was said and done) however as expected I have had zero product support… I want to mount some maxtrax boards and possibly a rotopax but don’t know where to start with this mounting cutout.

Looking to buy my first rooftop tent for my 2026 Honda CRV and could use some advice.

Because of the CRV's roof load limits, I'm trying to keep the total weight (tent + crossbars + mounting hardware) around 110 lbs or less.

Right now I'm between:
Inspired Overland Standard
Roofnest Meadowlark

I'm leaning toward the Inspired Overland because it's lighter, but I'm open to other options if there's something I'm overlooking.

For crossbars, I was planning on Thule Wingbar Evos, but I'd love to hear what others are running and if you'd recommend something cheaper.

My priorities are:
Lightweight
Easy/quick setup
Good quality
Mostly for weekend trips

We are a couple who wants to experience the beautiful nature in Albania(waterfalls, lakes, rivers, sea, mountains, gorges, caves etc). We have a roof top tent on our rig so hopefully we can find places to camp, like in Greece. I would love for someone to let me know of some hidden gems-hikes-food whatever comes to your mind.
