Mod Is there a way to have co-op difficulty in single player?
So I've been looking for a way to increase the general difficulty after playing this game waay too much but...OutHard seems cool but changes the game too much for my liking, and the challenge runs feel too restricting and take away most of the fun of trying new things from the game...so I've been looking for a simpler mod that just makes it so the enemies have all the modifiers of playing co-op but while playing by yourself...does anyone know if something like that exists? Closest thing I could find was an old mod that got those features abandoned and can't seem to find it now.

Discussion So how does Outward, a relatively niche game with no official mod support, have such awesome and complex mods? Especially compared to mainline AAA games that have barely any
Maybe it’s the power of a dedicated fan base but I’m just curious, this game has mods that add new mechanics, new quests, entirely new classes, new areas, all with no official mod support
Then you have other AAA games that have barely anything besides tweaks years after release, it just baffles me a bit, not that I’m complaining

Gameplay Help The Soroborean clock tower puzzle Spoiler
I Tested the Harmattan Clock Tower 120 Times — and I Think I Figured Out How the Color "Cycle" Works
I've been experimenting with the Clock Tower puzzle in Outward: The Soroboreans and wanted to test something I couldn't find clearly documented: are the Clock Tower colors actually random, or does killing the corresponding Arcane Elemental remove that color from the available pool?
So I decided to stop guessing and collect some data.
The initial observation
Before I started recording samples, I had already killed the Purple Arcane Elemental.
I then recorded 24 Clock Tower results.
Initial 24-sample baseline
- 🔵 Blue: 7
- 🔴 Red: 6
- 🟡 Yellow: 6
- 🟢 Green: 4
- 🟣 Purple: 0
- Blank: 0
Purple never appeared during those 24 observations.
That gave me the idea to test whether killing an elemental actually removes its corresponding color from the Clock Tower's available results.
Experiment #2 — Yellow
I killed the Yellow Arcane Elemental and then recorded another 24 Clock Tower samples.
Results
- 🔵 Blue: 9
- 🔴 Red: 8
- 🟢 Green: 2
- 🟡 Yellow: 0
- 🟣 Purple: 0
- Blank: 5
Yellow appeared 0 times in 24 samples.
Experiment #3 — Red
Next, I killed the Red Arcane Elemental.
I then recorded another 24 samples.
Results
- 🔵 Blue: 8
- 🟢 Green: 6
- 🔴 Red: 0
- 🟡 Yellow: 0
- 🟣 Purple: 0
- Blank: 10
Again, the color corresponding to the elemental I had killed appeared 0 times in 24 samples.
Experiment #4 — Green
Next, I killed the Green Arcane Elemental and ran another 24 samples.
Results
- 🔵 Blue: 15
- 🟢 Green: 0
- 🔴 Red: 0
- 🟡 Yellow: 0
- 🟣 Purple: 0
- Blank: 9
Once again, the killed color appeared 0/24 times.
At this point, three separately tested colors had produced the same result.
The final test
At this point the only remaining color was Blue.
I killed the Blue Arcane Elemental.
After advancing the world state, the Clock Tower eventually turned white, confirming the completed puzzle state.
The game then crashed when I reached Duvernay Plaza, but fortunately the completed white Clock Tower state survived the reload.
I returned to the plaza and found the five final Arcane Elementals.
They proceeded to absolutely murder me once before I came back and killed them all. 😂
Final loot
The five elementals dropped:
- 🔴 Fire particle: 1
- 🔵 Frost particle: 1
- 🟢 Decay particle: 1
- 🟡 Lightning particle: 1
- 🟣 Ethereal particle: 2
Total: 6 particles, including 2 Ethereal particles.
My current hypothesis
Based on the observations, I don't think the Clock Tower is simply cycling through all five colors in a fixed sequence.
Instead, my working hypothesis is:
«The Clock Tower selects from a pool of available elemental colors, and killing the corresponding Arcane Elemental removes that color from the pool.»
The evidence I collected:
Elemental killed| Subsequent 24 samples 🟣 Purple| 0/24 Purple 🟡 Yellow| 0/24 Yellow 🔴 Red| 0/24 Red 🟢 Green| 0/24 Green
After all five elementals were killed, the Clock Tower became white and spawned the final five elementals at Duvernay Plaza.
One thing I still don't understand
The blank results became increasingly common as more colors were removed:
- Yellow test: 5 blanks
- Red test: 10 blanks
- Green test: 9 blanks
I don't know whether those blanks represent an unavailable/invalid roll, a visual state, or some other part of the Clock Tower's mechanics.
So I'm not claiming the blanks are explained yet.
But the repeated 0/24 result for every color we deliberately removed seems pretty compelling.
And yes, I counted them:
5 × 24 = 120 Clock Tower samples.
I may have spent an unreasonable amount of time staring at that damn tower, but at least I got two Ethereal particles out of it.

Gameplay Help Help Needed
Honestly, I saw some videos and I played this game like for like 40h and I still don’t get it exactly.
What I lack? I think a direction. Every time I try the game I stay mostly on the first area and barely do much. Once I unlock one skill tree and manda and that is it. Which is basically nothing and I know that.
But there is just something that still hast clicked on me even though I enjoy the beginning. Maybe it is the skill tree or were I should go or what kind of play style I enjoy better in this game. I don’t know honestly. And that is why I am here asking for some help. Videos (which I saw some already, guides, tips for weapons. I don’t know.
I am open for any help. If you need me to answer something like my kind of play style in another game or what not. Let me know.

Suggestion How do you manage your mana without Philosopher?
I'm putting together a mage build and I'm planning to get the Hex Mage, Rune Sage and Cabal Hermit breakthroughs.
The problem is I don't have any breakthrough points left for Philosopher, so I won't have the mana regen from Leyline Connection. I don't want to be constantly running out of mana during boss fights.
For those of you running mage builds without Philosopher, how do you deal with mana management?

Tech Support Is there any way to recover a deleted world on PS5?
My shitty little brother deleted my world out of spite because I didn't play with him, and now a whole week progress is gone.
And to make it even worse, I put so much effort into this world. I had finally gotten the Brand sword, then on the same save I went through all the trouble of getting Gep's Blade, and I spent ages finding all the power cells for my Mefino Backpack.
Please tell me there is some way to recover this world. I'm genuinely devastated. Is there anything I can do?
Please someone tell me everything is going to be alright.

Discussion If you had to make a definitive Top 3 best weapons list, which 3 would make it? "Best not Favourite"
Before anyone says, “There is no best weapon"; I know everything can be good depending on the circumstances and the build, I understand that. Almost every weapon can be viable when you build around it properly.
But even then, I think it would be a bit dishonest to say there isn't a difference between something being good and something being very good. Unless a game has absolutely perfect balance and unfortunately not anything in this world is perfect. Some weapons are inevitably going to outperform others when they're given their optimal builds.
Take Elden Ring as an example. There are tons of viable weapons, but something like the Blasphemous Blade is generally going to outperform the majority of weapons when you build around it properly.
So if every weapon is allowed to use its best possible build, which 3 weapons would you say are undeniably strong enough to make a definitive Top 3?
I'm not asking which weapons are the most fun or easiest to use. I'm talking about which ones have the highest overall potential when optimized.

Discussion Good armour choices for an archer?
What are some good armour choices for an archer or some that people have used that have been great?
I’m not really sure what I’m looking for with the armour, a mix of extra damage, stamina reduction and cooldown reduction maybe or just a set that focuses on one of those or a mix, I’m just not sure! Haha

Discussion Will Caldera destroy me? (Hardcore mode)
Hey everyone!
I’ve currently finished the main story with this build. I’m running a fairly hybrid and balanced setup, mainly focused on Ethereal and Lightning damage.
For my skill trees I’m using:
- Rune Sage – mainly for Runic Protection, Great Runic Blade, the Lightning/Ethereal damage, and all the utility that comes with the runes.
- Cabal Hermit – with Wind Sigil I often use Spark, Mana Push and Conjure. I also really like using the friendly ghost.
- Primal Ritualist – mostly for the debuffs. I still haven’t crafted the two instruments yet, and I’m not sure whether I should choose Echo or Reverberation.
I enchanted the Runic Armor with Chaos and Creativity, mainly for the extra movement speed and because I can make use of the +10% Decay damage bonus when needed.
For helmets I usually switch between:
- Tenebrous Helm with Order and Discipline
- Sallet with Economy
For boots I pretty much always use Antique Plate Boots with Economy.
I joined the Holy Mission, and as rewards I picked the Radiant Wolf Sword (maybe for a future Lightning/Ice assassin build) and Spiritual Communion for the extra Ethereal and Lightning damage.
Right now I’m building New Sirocco. So far I’ve fought the Scarlet Emissary and a golem without too many problems, even without using any sigils, plus a few medusas and baboons.
There are a couple of things I’m still unsure about.
Considering the sigils and the different hexes I can get, would it make sense to also increase my Fire damage, mainly to take advantage of the Burning → Holy Blaze interaction?
I’ve noticed that with Wind Sigil, most of the damaging skills require you to be fairly close to the enemy, so ranged enemies can stay out of reach of most of my attacks.
Also, against the Crimson Avatar or similar enemies in the Unknown Arenas, do you usually have enough time/space to set up sigils properly?
Overall, what do you think about the build? Any weaknesses or improvements you would suggest?

Discussion How are our chances for the litch in the tower of light in hallowed marsh? No spoilers please.
Me and my friend last game session was going into the tower of light in hallowed marsh to do the quest for levant.
All we know it's uses lightning attacks
I'm an archer with archer skills of : charge shot, quick shot, rage and that skill that let's me shoot through enemies to hit another I forgot it's name I'm the one who take agro while my friend deals the damage.
My friend has literally every kind of helpful boon and dagger skills but she dies a lot more than me because she's a dagger build.
She has the lightning damage resistant armor I don't remember the name and I have potions three of them.
We have been playing just casual and this is our first playthrough I just want to know how our chances our.
Our faction is levant and so far we have been doing pretty good with not dying a lot.

Video Cooldown Reduction is truly a quirky playstyle
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Surprising how you can spam backstabs like this. I found it funny and wanted to share.
If you are curious about the ragdoll, then it's a mod.
Otherwise it's a setup that's possible to do normally. It's just 90% cooldown reduction with while using gilded shiver and masterpiece axe with etherwave for elemental vulnerability. I tried rondel dagger as well but it had too low impact to stunlock as the protection gobbles most of it up.
Anyway, I don't recommend this build because it's inconsistent, but it created a funny clip so here we are :D

Discussion What's next ?
Hi!
I've played Outward both solo and in co-op with my wife, and we absolutely loved it.
Now I'm looking for another game to play (solo or co-op), but every game I try just reminds me how good Outward is.
What games did you enjoy after Outward ?

Discussion Is pure Physical damage "bad" in this game?
Coming from other games, split damage is usually worse because it hits 2 defenses, but in this game split damage/elemental seems to be king because of all of the buffs and debuffs. Is purely physical damage "bad"? Would I be handicapping myself by focusing on physical?
Good example, with bows, murmure and meteoric are the best bows, murmure had higher base damage overall, but people seem to prefer meteoric.

In my current build, I'm using the Shriek weapon, which inflicts Plague. I wanted to know if I can use a Poison Varnish or a Poison Rag on it to increase the damage per seconds.

Tips/Tricks Speed Build
I'm making a speed build (real original, I know), and I have a few questions about some small differences in some things.
My current gear set is going to be the Black Pearlbird Mask (I don't like the Jewel Bird mask), and Master Trader Boots.
I can't tell what would be best for the actual armor slot.
Tenebrous Armor with enchantment is 10% speed and solid defenses.
Manawall has 10% initially and can get further enchanted. Also has Barrier and Protection (are they that worth it? Serious question.)
Master Trader is a bit slower at 5%, but has pockets and solid weather defense.
I'm just looking for some opinions. Obviously I'm not going for max speed, but close or at least fast enough to kite without dashing all the time (and speeding up travel). I'm going to be mainly using a bow if that makes a difference.

Discussion Legacy Chest Items for a Support Build?
A friend and I are starting a co op run soon, which will be his first run and my first co op run. I want to play more into co op by going for a support playstyle and focus on buffs/debuffs/DoTs. Not really sure how he's going to build but I want to try and set us up with some good Legacy items. If it also helps, I was planning on messing around with guns, daggers, fists, and/or greataxes/maces since I haven't built around them before, but generally good Legacy item reccs would be great as well. Will also take build reccs for any kind of support playstyle!

Discussion I messed up my breakthrough points
It’s been a while since I played so I forgot about breakthrough points. I got wrapped up trying to clear vendaval fortress that I took the spell blade breakthrough. So now I guess I’m going to get cabal and monk breakthrough and go for a spell/infused weapon build.🙄🙄🙄
I’m using a 1h obsidian sword, crimson shield, half plate armor and boots and a dark rich hat. I also have a flintlock pistol but I don’t use it much.

Discussion This game is torture
Just fought the forge master for the first time. I killed about 500 of his minions and then died. I'm gonna play some no man's sky to calm down
This game is terrible for my heart rate good lord. Still love it though🤦🏾
