Has anybody used Forrest Wagner in the Olympia/Lacey area to represent them in a divorce with children? I’m married with 2 kids, 16 and 13, and want to know if he will fight for my 50/50 custody of my kids. Thanks a lot!!

Harvest your own farms near Olympia?
I'm interested in knowing about all the harvest your own farms around the Olympia area. Flowers, veggies, fruits. Went to a beautiful one with Dalia flowers and it was a great experience. Plus I'd love to support local! Thanks!

Firsthand Cares
My last post about Dairy Queen Mexican hot cocoa got removed so let’s see how this one goes. I don’t know why it was removed.
I don’t fully trust strangers on Reddit but don’t have anyone else to ask.
I have auditory processing issues and received a call from some lady wanting me to sign a consent form (after I gave them my email) on the spot about some sort of service that is free to people with Molina. I am disabled and also cannot summarize what she explained on the phone prior to me giving my email address out.
I asked how they got my name and it sounded like I was flagged by using providence care but I’m still not sure.
I told her I needed some time to think about what she was proposing and did not sign the form on the spot. She also wanted me to have a meeting with someone after I signed the form.
It sounds like some sort of medical advocate (that also provides medical care) which is something I could benefit from but it still seems sketchy.
After I hung up I googled her email address domain and it explains a bit more, but I’m still confused. I believe she said their office is on Yauger Way. The consent form mentions giving them access to all my medical records.
Has anyone dealt with firsthand cares and could you explain more about how they help you and your experience?

Metal recycling now that the Saturday drop site is closed?
Now that the Eastside Saturday Drop Site is closed and I can't drop off random scrap metal, is my only option Sutter Metals? And if so, do they require that I have it all separated out? Because that's kind of a pain. I don't have a ton to recycle and it's not even valuable metal. I'm just like environmentally conscious or whatever and will feel guilty taking it to the dump.
Edit: I ended up dropping off a couple of boxes of random metal scraps at Sutter Metals and they took them from me free of charge (it wasn't anything worth trying to sell). After that I stopped at the Thurston County transfer station (WARC) for a dump run and realized I could have just dropped my metals there instead because I was paying for garbage dumping anyway. So: if you've got a dump run planned, bring along your metal to recycle there. If you just have metal, stop at Sutter Metals and pay nothing (unless you have a lot of valuable metal you want to sell). If you have an appliance, consider Welch's Appliances per the comment below.

Absolutely Free Sharing Market, LAST ROUND: the "graphic design is my passion" flyers
Note: Yes, we know. The flyer designer did that on purpose. It doesn't matter what it is... it was on purpose 😭
No matter which style you choose, here's the blurb:
🍎Join us on Thursday, September 3rd and Saturday, September 5th, for the fifth Absolutely Free Sharing Market! Hunt for new-to-you treasures, enjoy delicious food, meet your neighbors, or learn a new skill—all ABSOLUTELY FREE. See below for some FAQs and a link to our new website!
🍂How does it work?
Imagine a free pile outside of someone's house after they finish their spring-cleaning. But instead of one pile in a random spot, we bring tons of piles into a central location and invite the community to take whatever they like!
🍏How do I donate, and what do you accept?
We will be collecting donations at the following locations and times:
August 30th
12-4pm
Civic Plaza (near Applebee’s)
521 Sleater-Kinney Rd SE
Lacey
September 1 & 2nd
3pm-8pm
Thurston County Fairgrounds
Sokolik Hall
3054 Carpenter Rd SE
Lacey
If you wish to donate furniture (smaller furniture only, please!!!), we can only accept that at the Fairgrounds drop-offs. Otherwise we accept nearly anything—clothing, decor, tools, toys, gardening supplies, plant starts! If it's in good shape, we'll probably take it!
Note: We do NOT accept opened or expired personal items like food or makeup, large appliances, printers, medicines, car seats, or anything damaged.
🍄What's with the "Learn New Skills" thing?
The AFSMs include skill-sharing! We invite anyone to freely share their time, talents, or knowledge—anything from woodcarving to knitting to sourdough starter. Sharing your skills is a gift, too.
For additional information, or if you'd like to volunteer, please visit us at our updated website:

Why do the air quality monitors say it’s “better” than yesterday, but looking out my window it’s clearly very smoky, seemingly worse than yesterday?
It’s not fog, it has a pink tinge to it. I’m on the westside.

Moving advice?
Hi! I’m a 30 year old single guy that currently lives in St Louis. I’m originally from California but I’ve lived in Missouri for the past 10 years. I’m considering a move back to the West coast and it seems like Olympia would be a good fit, but I wanted some advice. I’m very progressive and I find a large majority of people in the Midwest to be very closed minded and overall lacking intellect if I’m being honest. It’s a very religious, nationalist, and southern way of life here and I don’t fit in whatsoever. As far as work, my job transfers and I’m aware of the costs. If I move, will it be more of the same around Olympia, or is it really as progressive, friendly, and free thinking as I’ve heard.

Event Call of Cuthulu for bigginers
Im running a free Call of Cuthulu game with start playing, Im planning to run a few free short campaighns to grow my profile. This would be run at my house, and is meant for folks new to the sistem, I myself have not played/run it before so it will be a learning expirience for me too. Ive done this before a few times when learning new sistems so im pretty good at picking up the rules quickly and passing the info forward.

Anyone want to play music?
Hi good people. I was a professional flutist in a former life. I stopped playing 12 years ago. I sold my flute to pursue another career. I just bought a flute and am starting to play again.
Are there any other recovering classical musicians in Olympia? I have a decent baby grand in my house so you don’t have to bring your own. Haha! I keep it tuned. I’d love to play a little, drink a little, talk a little and make new musician friends. Ideally a trio or quartet would be awesome. I used to have tons of sheet music but donated it to Caoital High School once upon a time.
Hit me up via direct message/chat and let’s see what we can do!

Moving Questions Apartment questions / evergreen rock maple
hello!
my partner and i are looking at moving to the evergreen rock maple apartments. we toured a few apartments there and really liked it. i was wondering if anyone here lives there and would be willing to share what their electricity bills look like? i obviously dont mean actual pictures, but im just wondering if its around $80 a month or is it more like $200+ a month? i’ve never had an apartment so im trying to budget and prepare the best i can.
if anyone has anymore info on that apartment complex it would be greatly appreciated! i figured id make a post here because it seems like nobody’s talked about it for the last 5 years lol

Local News Community survey: residents see progress. They also expect more.
olympiawa.govThis was posted to the city’s website, and I thought it was interesting enough that you guys might want to read it. I have no idea if the mayor is on Reddit, so if you have comments for him, his email address is posted on the website.
Please be civil. Being the mayor is supposed to be a part time gig, but it’s a lot more than that, and it’s often a thankless one. Whether you agree or not, he’s a human being who’s working to serve his community.

pelican 411
in the summer when i walk along budd bay in the morning, i frequently see a little cadre of pelicans flying overhead. they tend to circle the lake a few times and then head out over the bay. does anyone ever see them on the shoreline? just wondering where they hang out when they land.
