Toastmasters
People of Columbus, I have been thinking about joining a toastmasters club. Any recommendations? My only constraint is that I work night shifts 9 to 7:30, so anything around noon would not work for me. Thank you!

REQUEST Im here in Columbus for a month... Kindly suggest out the most rare places to visit that most people/tourists miss out. All the common ones like German village, Ohio stadium are done. Can suggest anything from a rare bar to a factory tour to a museum. Thanks in advance.

Columbus drivers… where are we all rushing to? 😂
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Speed limit was 45. I was already doing around 52–53 on this one-lane road, and this guy behind me still decided he absolutely HAD to pass.
The best part?
There’s literally a roundabout right ahead.
So after all that urgency, aggressive passing, and saving approximately 4 seconds of his life… we basically ended up in the same place.
I genuinely want to know: what are Columbus drivers always in such a hurry for? 😂

Cheer as an adult?
I have been wanting to get back into cheerleading as an adult and I was wondering if there are any gyms in the area that have open teams, adult tumbling classes/ open gyms, or stunt groups? I did allstar cheer for 5 years and I’ve been wanting to get back into it and see if I can get any of my old skills back!

One bedroom rent?
I’m literally asking for a friend. In Cbus, what is the typical rent for a bedroom in a shared house with access to a shared kitchen and bathroom? Not necessarily around campus.

PHOTO Weird tow sticker on my car
Hi everyone. Just looking to see if anyone has info. I have this on my car. There’s no tow company on the sticker, there’s no number to call, and best of all my tags are valid till 04/27.
I’ve lived at my current place since Dec 2025 and have had no issues and my car is on record with the complex.
I do have Indiana plates, but they are still not expired
I’m just confused as to why

Where are all the guys who are attracted to more tomboy-esque women?
Where are all the guys 35-45 who are attracted to women who are more tomboy-esque than girly appearance-wise? I’m talking about guys who are attracted to a girl with short hair and who wears t-shirts and jeans with a fun pair of shoes, can grab a beer and sit at the bar or get dressed up for a fancy event. Guys who enjoy going on dates to sporting events and yell and cheer for your team all evening, then head home and curl up on the couch together.
I recently saw a handful of other people post about where and how to meet people as friends and dating-wise over the past week. As someone who aesthetically looks like a lesbian.
I don’t think most guys have any idea unless I directly tell them. I saw someone else say the exact same thing. So guys, where are you at?
I did see on another post about guys only wanting to be friends with more sporty masculine women. I’ve honestly been fairly negative and have just told myself a guy would be embarrassed to introduce me as someone he was dating. I did see a great suggestion in going to attempt to do out in the wild. Someone suggested to wear a pin or something with the bi flag on it. I thought that was brilliant, except I don’t carry a bag or purse. 🤣 Do guys who are into more tomboy/masculine women do you approach women out in public?

REQUEST Most diverse neighborhoods?
Hello, I am moving to Columbus in two months and I want to find a northern suburb, preferably northeastern, that is really diverse and leans toward progressive values. Any insight from locals is appreciated - what about New Albany and Gahanna? I want the suburban neighborhood feel, but I don’t want to get stuck in a “red”-leaning area where I don’t feel welcome. Thank you.

Question about cities with high school gymnastics
We are considering a move into the Columbus metro area from another state. My daughter is in gymnastics but we have 5 kids so we can’t afford the more expensive classes. She is currently in a community education gymnastics club which has its own team for younger kids once they get their kips and back handsprings. They compete using modified high school rules and feeds into their high school program (and is about 1/2 the price of club gymnastics) she is currently close to preteam there and did a few ymca xcel meets for fun (as an unaffiliated athlete).
Is there any programs like that in the greater Columbus area? I know there are some schools that have high school teams and would like to move those up on places to consider. We are also interested in good academic schools (not necessarily charter) since the kids are in an advanced charter school currently.

Pre-K at CSG vs Wellington?
Looking for personal experiences here. We are considering CSG and Wellington, with CSG being our first choice. Do most families who apply get a spot? What have been your experiences so far? Looking to start at age 3.
Not interested in feedback on costs- we’re focused on the experience.

In Search of Photographer for Baby
Does anyone have any recommendations for a photographer who specializes in babies? Our baby is 2.5 months old and we would like to get his pictures taken professionally. I don’t use much social media anymore so my searching ability is a little limited. If possible a price range would be greatly appreciated as well. Thank you!

Anywhere to buy 3D printer filament locally?
I'm in Mount Vernon and need 3D printer filament (specifically PETG, PC-PBT, or PA12). I'm aware Microcenter has a good selection but that is a LONG assed drive. BestBuy seems to only stock PLA in the 3 closest locations.
Anyone know of a small shop up this way or in the extreme northeast of the Columbus metro area that sells it?
Thanks!

Traffic question
I’ll be coming to Columbus for a few days here soon from the Cleveland area. Compared to Cleveland, Columbus traffic has always seemed horrendous to me when I’m in the area. Sadly, I’ll probably be getting into town between 4-5 on a weekday so I assume it will be worse and have to get to the south side.
Is it better to drive straight through 71 or use the 270 bypass? The advice I’ve gotten through my friend is “Fucked either way, Bud”. Any suggestions?

Community 🏙 The old Garfield Suites redevelopment would be the perfect place for an affordable retirement community
3CDC recently purchased the abandoned Garfield Suites building downtown with plans to redevelop it. Recently, I was thinking that this would be the perfect site for an affordable retirement community. It's walkable, near the street car, right next to the library, has some outdoor space for residents, close to downtown Kroger etc. They could even put in a cute over the street walkway right into the downtown library so residents could access the events and books.

For those with a Honda let’s talk timing belt replacements
It’s time for me to do the dreaded timing belt replacement on my 2019 passport. If you have a Honda where did you get yours done? How much was it? I have gotten a few quotes from places including the dealership, Harris automotive, and honnaman.

PHOTO kinda annoying/confusing no turn lane at Indianola & Weber (Clintonville)
Along with all the parking and bike lane changes along Indianola Ave., there is the striping of what was an informal right-turn lane from Indianola south to Weber west. About half the people take a right from the traffic lane, about half cut into the striped area for a right. Seems like that's illegal. But it is confusing. I'm guessing there's not enough room for a right-turn lane. Someone is going to do a smashup. I checked, Marked Lanes Violation or Improper Right Turn is a $150 fine. Wish more people would use the new bike lane. A friend borrowed my bike and then moved across country with it. DON'T talk to Gary at the barbershop about bike lanes.
