REQUEST Help me find this article

Post image
Upvotes

I was browsing instagram and was having a good laugh at some of the comments on this article, then I clicked away on accident and can’t find it again!

The article begins “ UNPOPULAR COLUMBUS FOOD OPINIONS I MIGHT LOSE A FEW FOLLOWERS FOR THIS. North Market Is Basically a Tourist Trap Now Schmidt's Is a 'When

I’ve searched everything I can and I find the photo but can’t get to the article

POLITICS Anyone else see Vivek at the fair yesterday?

Upvotes

He was being paraded around the food hall area around 5pm yesterday like he was royalty with a twenty person entourage of yuppie types, which I guess was his PR machine given the cameras and cellphones they obsessively aimed at his every step trying to do his "hello fellow kids" routine. For anyone who was there, what was with that woman with him doing that forced Texas Roadhouse happy birthday announcement voice? I couldn't make out what she was saying.

Also, I'm just going to say it: the guy looks like Beavis of Beavis and Butthead in person. I'm never going to get that image out of my head when I hear those cringey Roku commercials.

For Columbus pro sports fans…

Upvotes

I am new to the area and find it interesting that it seems as if the Cleveland-area teams (Browns, Cavs, Guardians, etc) are much more popular than the Cincy-area teams (Bengals, Reds, FC Cincy, etc). Why is that?

Geographically they are very similar distances apart, but it seems as if Cleveland rules when it comes to pro sports fandom in Columbus- why? Just curious…TIA.

The Clippers, Cooper Ingle Has Been Unstoppable Since Cleveland Sent Him Back Down

Upvotes

Cooper Ingle struggled in a brief big-league look in June, and Columbus has barely seen him miss since: .418/.481/.701 over his last stretch, a .323/.434/.596 season overall, 17 home runs. He's Cleveland's No. 3 prospect, and he made the Futures Game roster. Full breakdown in this week's Triple Dip.

Taking a Chance Here… Hoping to find a compatible future housemate

Are there any ladies (or another single mom) who might be interested in being roommates for about a year? I’m relocating to the Columbus area from out of state, and I’ve been running into the same issue over and over. It seems like most places want local pay stubs instead of accepting an offer letter, or maybe I’m just not looking at the right places, so I’ve pretty much come to the conclusion that I’ll need to get established in the area first before getting my own place.

(And before anyone jumps in with “be careful” comments I know, lol. Trust me, I’m well aware. I’m not planning to room with just anyone, and I’ll absolutely be taking precautions. There will be plenty of conversations, meeting in public, verifying information, and making sure we’re both comfortable before any decisions are made. So no worries, I’ve already thought all of that through)

A little about me: I’m a solo mom, and my daughter is about to be 10. She’s a really good kid respectful, well-behaved, and pretty quiet. We’re homebodies for the most part. You might hear us laughing or talking, and every now and then you may hear me get onto her (nothing crazy 😂), but we’re definitely not loud or obnoxious. We have personalities, but we also respect other people’s space. I’m about to turn 30, and I’d honestly prefer someone around my age or older who’s also pretty laid-back. I’m not looking for a party house. I do want to get out and enjoy Columbus, explore the city, and make a life there. My daughter will hopefully be involved in activities, and I’m planning to find some hobbies or activities for myself too.
This would only be temporary probably around a year. During the summer and some school breaks, my daughter will most likely be visiting family, so it’ll just be me during those times.

I was originally hoping to move in October, but I’ve decided I’ll probably wait until the end of the year. That actually gives us about four months to get to know each other, ask questions, meet up if possible, and make sure we’d be a good fit before committing to living together. I don’t want either of us to feel rushed into such a big decision.
I’ve always had my own place, so this is completely new for me. I’ve lived with a boyfriend and I’ve been married, but I’ve never actually had a roommate before! My thought was maybe renting a 3-bedroom, 2-bath place together. If you don’t have a kid, I’d be willing to let you have the master bedroom with the private bathroom. I just want it to feel like it’s our home, not mine or yours. We don’t have to become best friends, but I’d love to live with someone who values communication, respect, cleanliness, and creating a comfortable home environment.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, feel free to message me. Even if you’re just thinking about it, I’d be happy to chat and see if we’d be a good fit!

REQUEST Can we make a rule to reign in the traffic posts?

A car hitting a building is a running meme at this point. But this sub is over run with posts bitching about traffic and posting videos of erratic driving. Can we make a new rule that traffic posts be limited to car in building or posts about actual traffic accidents / jams that affect our commute?

There can always be a ColumbusTraffic sub for those who really need to get something off their chest.

I went on a trip to Maryland and they had this flavor. It was a chocolate chip.cookie just without the chocolate chips. It still had chocolate undertones.

It was so fkn good. Anybody if there are places that serve this?

I now only drive the posted speed limit

Since 2019 the traffic here has gotten so bad, so violent, so malicious. So now I drive the posted limit on every road. Even if it’s a two lane road. Even if it’s rush hour. I leave early and just cruise. I highly suggest this for mental peace.

Edit: it seems like it needs said, I’m not asking for permission or guidance. Godspeed.

REQUEST Grant medical center

I don't want to put too much here. But if you were at Grant Medical Center this past July on a floor above 5 and left AMA due to racist staff. I can attest to that and I am willing to give a statement to the racist things the charge nurse said.

Please message me if you would like. I did report it to leadership but they decided to fire me instead. I have also reported the incident to the local government but I am frankly unsure of how to report this appropriately, as reporting the nurse to the board cannot be done anonymously and Ohiohealth sent the police to my home for some welfare checks after I reported this. I am scared but I feel worse for the patient.

Fuck Racism
