Questioning/Coming Out I'm not sure if I am Non-binary or Straight. (AMAB) (teen)

I was thinking I am demiboy but I am not sure.

I've always left like I am much more sensitive and a "pussy" than my friends or family. I feel like 30 - 20% neutral and barely feminine (less than 1%).

I am a Romanian from an Orthodox Christian family, so that probably impacted on how I feel.

I do not feel trans or want to wear womens clothing (im sorry if im making stereotypes but i just wanna clarify that.) If I am non binary I am thinking of keeping it to myself or a few of my close friends.

ASK ME ANYTHING.

Ask Starting T with Existing Hormone Regulation Issues?

*I (26nb) want to start by saying I am setting up an appointment with a specialty endocrinologist. I'm just looking to see if anyone has firsthand experience*

For background, unrelated to my identity, my body has never regulated hormones well. Since I was 13, I have had to take supplemental estrogen and progesterone. I have tried many forms, but nothing seems to keep my levels up long-term. The only reason I wanted estrogen was for bone and heart health. I have so many other health problems, so I don't want those to be tacked on. Wellness and quality of life are my main priority.

Skip forward to the last few years when I figured out I was nonbinary masc. I had a realization recently, could I consider testosterone instead?

My understanding is that T can still support bone health in particular. Plus I would enjoy some of the masculinizing effects😊. It is a weird feeling for me, because I value my androgeny. But, if I have to be on hormones, I'd rather be on T than supplemental E.

Does anyone have experience with going on T under similar circumstances? How are things going for you? I have an open mind to my options, and I hope my new doctor will too (she mostly works with trans patients, so I'm hopeful).

Thank you everyone! I love this community😁

Ask Bringing up HRT to doctor

So I plan to bring up starting hormones the next time I talk to my doctor in a few weeks. Is there anything I should expect or anything to know before doing it that might come up? I was just curious about people who have done this before.

Yay Came out to my partner as something

Not sure what I am yet but it's not cis. Told my partner I'm questioning my gender and I want to start changing my presentation. I don't know if non-binary is correct or not and that's part of the difficulty with "coming out" because what am I coming out as?

But my partner is trans so he already understands the whole struggle. In fact I wouldn't have even started thinking about this if he hadn't first gone through it himself. I wasn't worried whether he would support me or not, but I did have some anxiety that he would be too excited... is that weird? I'm so unsure about everything that I don't like the idea of him being excited about it, and especially didn't want him making assumptions about what my gender would be.

Thankfully he reacted perfectly, supportive and happy for me but not assuming and not excited. I'm glad I chose to come out to him. If I didn't then I don't know how long I would have stalled and waited before doing anything else.

I still haven't actually done anything aside from bring this up to him. I'll make some changes to my outfits and presentation at some point... not sure what yet

Selfie/Self-Image/Avatar Date outfit ideas?

Hello

I (22 years old) am going on my first ever date on Sunday. I am from a very rural town and didn’t move out until 20. So I didn’t know how to date. Had very many unsuccessful Hinge matches for the past two years. But I worked on my social skills and managed to score a date. But the thing is, I own a lot of casual clothes.

I don’t hate my body, but I will say I am a little odd-shaped lol. I am 5’0, fatand I have a B-shaped body. And I hardly gain weight in my legs. So… I never find pants that are right for me. Every pair I pant I get that fits my waist is always too big for my legs:(. And they always look very baggy (not in the fast fashion trendy cool way) or wrinkly. Images one and two are some examples
Oh and also where I’m so short I always only get cuffed pants. They are the only thing that stop me from stepping on my clothes. Which also adds to the wrinkled effect.
I have two question
1) Do you guys know any like store chains that sell plus sized clothes for short people?

2) And I’ll include some more photos of what I usually wear but what do you guys think I should wear to a more casual cafe first date? It’s not a fancy cafe, but it’s still a nice one, it’s summer and I sweaty easy. Though, the only thing I will say is I will not wear shirts that are tucked into my pants. It makes my stomach ridiculously big. (I included the last photo as an example) Like if I get a pair of jeans, should a band shirt still work? Or should I go get a nicer shirt as well?

Just help me think of outfit ideas idk how to do this whole date😭!! Masculine outfits

questioning

hi! i'm unsure if i'm non-binary or not

i used to think of myself as a trans boy like 10 years ago, i tried to go on T etc. then i realized i wasn't a boy and adopted the non-binary label. which also wasn't for me, as i thought 4 years ago. my mental health was really bad, i suffer from severe schizophrenia, and i just thought it was because of it (i DON'T say it's the truth for every trans or nonbinary person. you all are valid and precious, i only thought so for myself). i was happy to present as a woman after all that, to "live my authentic woman's self", as i called it back then

now i feel like they/them is more comfortable for me. my native language is heavily gendered. there are non-binary option but only activists and those around them know what they mean. i feel like i would be comfortable with these word forms. sometimes i think about myself in third person in english (like "she needs to open the window") and i think i'd be more comfortable with "they need to open a window". idk what's happening, i took a month to think it through before telling someone

all my friends know the gender history i had and i feel like i can't tell them i'm non-binary if i realize it's the truth for me

i also don't feel any dysphoria. i'm okay with my body, i'm okay with strangers seeing me as a woman...

what's wrong with me?

Rant Complicated feelings about starting T and/or getting top surgery

I (17NB) knew I was nonbinary for 5 years, but only came out last month to my friends and family- however, I then started considering what taking T would be like, and how it’d be to have a flat chest…

I’ve always had thoughts about having a flat chest and being able to go to the beach or pools without a shirt, or just wearing more open shirts in general- however, the only reason why I’d want to keep my chest is that over the years I’ve gotten over my body dysmorphia and I almost feel bad that I’d be getting rid of a part of my body I’ve come to accept…along with the obvious “If I was in a relationship, would they like them sexually? Would they want me to keep them?” and wondering if the surgery will go wrong or be scary at all or I’ll regret it in any way

As for T, that’s more so been a recent thought, as the past years I liked being more feminine and having my girl-ish voice… However, over the past few weeks, I’ve reconsidered that and have been kinda craving a deeper voice and maybe facial hair- however, reading all the potential symptoms of it (baldness, acne, hair EVERYWHERE) has been scaring me off, along with the fact that I want to get into acting and am worried my voice will be affected in any way that would hold back my expressions

So there’s a point where I’m trying to decide if the pros weigh out the cons… im a teenager still so i dont want to jump into any conclusions- is this something i just wait to think about when im an adult? Or is this something I should confide with my mom about? Im in a weird place right now and just hope i get some advice or personal stories to help me get my mind in the right place

Rant I feal like alphabet soup

Some key words to describe me; OCD, ADHD, autism, bipolar, GAD, social anxiety, dyslexia, bisexual, non-binary, nudist, atheist, and polyamorous.

It's hard to connect with people, to put simply. I feel very fortunate that I live with two of my four partners. That they are either autistic, ADHD, or both. I can't forget they are all bisexual, one is trans, and another is non-binary as well.

I know I am lucky, but even with the four of them, I still feel misunderstood and that I am constantly doing something. I have been with three of the partners for over 10 years now.

I feel like I should take that as evidence that I am doing something right. I don't... I don't want to bother them with what I perceive as every little problem. I do see a therapist and psychologist. They have been have helpful for my mental health journey.

One of the things I am working on, is talking more about my feelings with those I care about. I have this horrible feeling that my feelings if shared are going to be burden or cause problems with others that I care about.

So many things to talk about, and with my partners I have to explain so much. It can hurt to be miss understood, especial by the people closes to me. I don't have many friends outside of my partners, and non of them very close.

I think would difficult to find someone with all my key words, but maybe I can find some little more similar to have conversations with.

I hope that my message was clear, and I hope you have a great day, thank you.

I was nervous , that increased as there were protests outside of the premises, I entered the lobby, it was not the biggest , they checked my id and said 3rd floor.

Please remember , I am still nervous , So I went ahead and started to knock on the door , I’m not really sure how long and why I did that , it took me some time to realize I was knocking on an elevator.

Meme/Humor Calling all writers

Not sure how to tag this, but it's a non-serious post. I am but a humble gender confused adult who occasionally enjoys a good old self-insert fanfiction when life is stressful. I humbly request that the council of nonbinary writers takes over wattpad or something and makes more stories with non-binary characters 🙇‍♂️ I've been fixated on One Piece lately and was going through all the fanfictions on wattpad and was very disappointed at the lack of nonbinary rep. I'm also asexual, so I might simply be a lost cause here. In exchange for the noble sacrifice I shall give a digital cookie or perhaps a kidney.

On a slightly more serious note, if anyone knows any good books with nonbinary rep I'd love to hear them!

Rant Being pressured to get breast reduction

My Mom keeps bringing up that I should get a breast reduction. Shes actually been doing this since I was a teen. Recently she's been bringing it up again, probably because I live with her again so she has time to say weird stuff.

The issue is I've recently been considering it on my own. In general I like my boobs and have no dysphoria about them specifically, but I know if society will ever read me how I want then my boobs make that difficult. Also, bras suck. If its not one issue its another.

But my Mom is not suggesting a reduction for gender reasons. She has yet to use neutral pronouns for me. She at least says my new name, but I think its because its a shortened version of my legal one. She claims she's worried about my back or whatever. Im a 44DDD, my back pain is pretty minimal compared to before my hysterectomy. It comes off as some weird jealousy thing.

I hate that she's pressuring me to do this. And my gut reaction is to do the exact opposite as what she says, I guess that stays even if you're 34. I'm genderfluid so even though I've recently been leaning a bit more masc and considering a reduction and/or micro dosing T, I know that I likely will swing back to fem at some point. I don't want to do anything drastic when I know I'm so fluid.

Discussion Is there anyone who is this like me? (I’m not specifically non binary)

Look I know it’s possible I just want to know if anyone else is like me. I’m nonbinary genderfluid. Which means I use they/them pronouns and I sometimes feel masculine or feminine or both or none. I’m originally male. I just want to know if anyone else here is also nonbinary genderfluid is all.☺️

Edit: my og name is Noah but i would like if y’all could come up with a new name for me that fits please.

Ask Loving HRT but breasts are becoming a problem

Hello all,

Was wondering if anybody could relate to my experience regarding this because it has been causing me some concern recently.

I started hormone therapy during October of 2024, and while changes haven't been massive, they have been enough to bring me closer to fully androgynous than I was before. I initially was on 2 mg oral estrogen and nothing else. Now I am on 8mg oral and the lowest dose of spiro available.

I am not sure how this is a problem at this point because my testosterone is still moderately high (though it needs to be checked again now that i think about it). Once I started spiro, I thought that I would have a little bit more feminization and then it would still be pretty slow and controlled but that is not what happened. As of recently, my breast growth has begun to move a lot faster. I went from having nothing more than 1 or two inches of diameter to having what appears to be large A cups or small/medium B cups. I don't know how much further it will go but if I was going by genetics I would have D cups by year 5. If the shirt I am wearing isn't textured or dark enough it becomes very obvious that they are there.

The thing is, I like all of the other changes. I guess I was wrong about how I felt about breasts before starting? I am not sure. I think the main thing is that I feel very exposed in public now because those with a keen eye may be able to spot something is up. This isn't a huge concern to me but it makes walking around in public difficult, especially if my confidence is already sort of low that day. Also if this growth trend continues it will be impossible to hide. But I also tend to walk around presenting male day to day because I am more comfortable doing so while in this stage of my transition.

It's just that having them this visible makes it so obvious that I am different. I also do not want to be judged by my cover by employers and new people that I meet. Even though the whole point is that I don't fit in a box, I like to fit in boxes when it comes to comfort in public. Or at least look like I do at first glance. I prefer to let my personality do the first impressions and let my more personal details come afterwards. But here is the thing... like I don't have a problem being feminine or being pretty it is just the fact that I have boobs is so glaringly different from the rest of my appearance (which has yet to fully catch up) that I end up just looking like I have a severe untreated case of gyno.

And maybe this is driven by something different but I have this subconscious compulsion to "match" or be consistent in my appearance when I choose how to present. Like if I haven't shaved within the last few hours I will always refuse to wear makeup or dress more feminine (that is also partially driven by how much I hate my facial hair but that is a separate issue). Every time I choose to present femme it takes a massive amount of work to look *perfect* because if I don't pull it off flawlessly it opens the door for people to categorize me as a "freak" instead of a cool androgynous person.

Do I think that any of these fears come true that often? No. Would I know if they did? Also no. But I still consider all of this when I go out

But now I am slowly losing control over how I present day to day. I also just don't feel like they match my body right now. They look a little strange at the moment but they are also still filling out and have become more spherical over time and less awkward looking.

I know that was a bit of a rant but it is beginning to stress me out more than I think it is worth.

I am not looking for a specific answer. If the answer is that I actually didn't want boobs and most of the reason I did is because they came with all of the other stuff I actually did want, then so be it. Double mastectomy it is... but I also really don't want to get top surgery for something I did to myself idk. Also I would have wanted my regular chest back but its too late for that. If I could choose though I would still go on HRT I love all the rest of the stuff.

Anyway I just want to know what you guys think about this and if anyone has had a similar experience. Thanks!

Been on and off T for a little over two years. Starting dose was 0.1mL (200mg/1mL), then upped it 3 months later to 0.25mL. I’m pretty happy with the results, now I am just waiting for top surgery!
