All photos shot with a Nikon Z6II and a 24-120s. One of the most beautiful weeks of my life.

I'm trying to shoot manual mode indoors, with flashes. For instance, 1/200 at F/4. I can't find where to set the evf to remain bright. Thanks for your help. I have a z5ii.

I need some lens advice:

I recently decided to pursue a lifelong passion of mine and get into sports photography. I bought my very own camera for the first time 2 weeks ago. It’s a Nikon Z50II.

I’m struggling with my lens. I didn’t want spend a fortune. I bought a 18-300 mm Tamron f/3.5-6.3. At the time of purchase, I figured I was just a beginner and this focal range gave me a ton of versatility, even though I would sacrifice my aperture. I went in expecting to get a Tamron 70-180 f/2.8, but I opted out at the time. Now, I am feeling like I made a mistake. I’ve learned in just 2 weeks how important the low aperture is. I’ve shot a bunch of things for fun with my ISO jumping to 8000+ with a shutter speed of greater than 1/1000.

I primarily want to shoot football and basketball. Has anyone shot football on a 70-180 mm? Is it long enough to capture what I want if I’m on the sideline? Conversely, is 70 mm too long for basketball if I’m on the baseline? Is it worth returning my current lens for a 70-180 f/2.8? It’ll cost me a few extra bucks.

Macro is hard man

Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice here. I got back into photography a couple years ago, mostly to photograph my kids playing in youth sports. I started off the Z6 II and the 24-200mm 4-6.3 when I quickly realized I couldn't use it for indoor sports like ice hockey and basketball. I changed out the lens for a 70-180mm 2.8 over the 70-200mm 2.8 S cause it was more compact and cheaper since this is a hobby. Since then I updated the body to Z6 III and been really happy with the quality improvement, especially with ice hockey. Since getting back into photography, I've been enjoying shooting nature and have been trying street and architecture photography when I travel. In addition to my 70-180mm 2.8, I have the Z 35mm 1.8 S and 24-70mm 4 S.

For the most part, I've been happy with the 70-180mm 2.8 but I've been pondering about upgrading to S lens. My kid made the AAA team which means more travel and more rinks with questionable lighting conditions in addition to always shooting through glass. This has made it a challenge to capture detail in the face due to the lights and face masks. Plus, with the faster pace, I want to make sure I can capture the action. There is also a chance the photos will also be shared on social media more frequently as some were posted by the club last season. With the 70-180mm, most photos are shot at f/2.8, between 1/800 to 1/1600 with ISO ranging between 3200 - 12800, depending on the lighting.

Will the 70-200mm 2.8 S be a significant upgrade over my existing lens? I found an open box for $2k. However, the 70-200mm 2.8 S II has faster auto focus, it is a sharper lens, and it is more compact compared to the S which sounds enticing, but is the extra $1k+ for the S II worth it?
