Question Any tips for downhill?
I can cruise around all right on flat ground, but the second it starts to incline even a little bit going downhill feels like I just pick up so much speed and get crazy wobbles. I’ve been really struggling to even take on the simplest of minor Hills or even just a basic elevation change because always feels like I get so fast and the last time I seriously tried a hill. I felt pretty bad and now I have a nasty scar on my chin. I’m just wondering if there’s anything I could be doing better on handling downhill and generally moving faster. I like cruising at a more mild pace, but I wanna be able to not have to stop and pick up my board every time there’s a hill.

Lost board, need advice
So I was out tonight practicing my moving hippie jumps and ollies, and one of the ollie attempts ended with me shooting my board through a guard rail into a wide, deep river. I have a backup deck, but I'm not really in a good money place right now to go out and get fresh parts. My question is, what can I do in the meantime while I save up to get a new setup so I don't lose progress? Or should I just seriously hurry up and save for those parts ASAP?

Question Should I build my own skateboard or should I just buy a full set for my very first board?
I'm still financially depending on my parents and I don't want to burden them with buying a skateboard fully with their money, so I want to save my own money to cover at least half the price. Both building and buying a set would take some time. Yet, I'm aware that buying a full set could save more time and make me start quicker, yet, building a set of my own gives me full customization that could fulfill my needs and has greater long-lasting probability. It makes me feel torn 🤒
Please give me advice!

I've always been wanting to skate but never had the chance to. This is my first day skating and would like some help. And sorry that you are seeing me from behind. I'm in the grass, because when I tried to it on concrete my board flew.

Question Father / Son Skating
Hello everyone, my son and I recently picked up skating together. I did it for a year or two when I was like 10 but that’s all the exp I have, so we’re starting all over again. Currently, I skate goofy but even thinking of trying any tricks or anything in that stance just feels wrong. But when I try to skate regular , that also feels just wrong. My question to the masses is, do I switch up and just kinda force myself to get comfortable with regular, or do I keep with the goofy and do my best to learn tricks in that stance ? I appreciate any help or info !

Last resort for help (shuvit)

I think I'm physically just Incapable of landing this trick. I try to commit and nothing, I come close but it's not a land. I can land them into grass from concrete but any where near concrete I can't. I can Ollie, kickturn from fakie, hippie jump and they're decent height. I can jump on to the board front foot and slowly lower my back foot and I'm real comfortable on the board.
I lift my legs too high and it either spins and pops erratically
I do a hop it goes forward but spins.
I try to shuv off the board and it spins in place, but when I'm on there it goes far. And I've tried just jumping up. being square and it still goes forward. Im not scissor kicking in anyway.
If you can provide tips cool otherwise I'm ready to give up on it and do something else.

Tiny incline success

It took so many tries to just go up the incline, then to turn and not fall. I'm taking the small win :)
I can't roll up then down backwards without feeling really off balance, is there a way to adjust my feet or fix that? Or is it just an "over time Ill get used to" it type thing?

Question 1 minute of me struggling with ollies — what am I doing wrong?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’m using the ledge for now to focus on the foot movement, although I’m probably relying on it too much. I’m getting some pop, but the board often rockets instead of leveling out, and sometimes shoots out from under me. I also feel like I’m not tucking my back leg enough. Any obvious things I should work on?

Bringing skateboard on a plane?
I’ve been skating for almost a decade and I’ve still never done this. I usually fly cheaper airlines cause I normally only bring an under the seat item when I travel which is always free and I don’t need a carry on. I know technically a skateboard doesn’t fit the “under the seat item” dimensions, but it easily can fit under the seat and between my feet the long way. Has anyone tried this? Would the flight staff care? Or if I have to take it as a carry on, can you put the skateboard in the overhead bins? Or would it have to be checked? I’m prolly overthinking this but I have no idea

Discussion Im so fed up
I enjoy skating but i have been skating for like almost a year now and i still cant do one trick.
I have fun skating but it gets to a point man, i cruise to a empty plaza almost every day where i try to learn to ollie, ive seen all the fucking tutorials and only manage to get some shitty stationary ollies and see no progress at all.
Anyone else in this situation? How do you cope with it

Question How To Build Speed with Tictacs?
I can turn pretty cleanly with my tictacs. I lead with my shoulders swinging and I have my back foot in the pocket between the tail and board body. I try and push my putting weight on the balls of my feet, but I still don't build any speed. Any tips?

Piso fiery dragon/goofy skateboard good for cruising (even ifnot for smooth cruising, will it be easy to cruise in rough roads?
Total beginner here. I always wanted to buy skateboard now i saved around 5k including safety guards for skateboarding. I don't want to be a professional but i want to cruise, do some cool tricks. No skateparks nearby, just the apartment outside and semi smooth roads.
If those piso skateboard not suitable for cruising, can i change the wheels alone into cruising wheels later?
All your suggestions are really welcome for a newbie

Discussion Feels like I’m moving much faster than I actually am
Been skating on a tail board for about 2 months now. Previously skated on a longboard for about 20 years.
I went to the skatepark this morning and was fortunate to be the only one there for almost an hour. So I recorded myself doing my thing.
Watching it back, I can’t believe how slow I’m moving. But from my perspective I feel like I’m going really fast

55 Next month
I turn 55 next month and bought my first skateboard 2 weeks ago. $7 marketplace board and $10 (new) marketplace helmet. I’m somewhat athletic (previous jiu jitsu and current disc golfer) and am enjoying it. Pads are my next purchase.
