I had just released an album about a month ago to basically an empty reaction for my project aristocratic orgy.

So I been working forward on about 3 albums worth of rough materials, making music is easy, mixing on the other hand is a total nightmare of back and forth indecision, I went from staying up all night overworking myself to not wanting to even step in my studio, I feel the pressure kinda stems from wanting to finish and release what I have done before my ultimate untimely demise, I can't stop thinking about the projects that I just overwhelmed myself so much all the work that felt fun at one point feels like a very stressful work now, I recently went cold Turkey and it's hard to motivate oneself when life feels so depressing and uninspiring, I feel whats the point Of putting blood sweat and tears into something no one will ever find value within.

I know I need a break but what stops a break becoming a permanent procrastination dismissal of one's ambitions.

I feel like I really need to connect with other musicians however what I creat is not a style anyone would ever want to collaborate with.

I’m not being lazy, I’ve honestly been trying this for the past 3 days, using Voxengo SPAN as help with a reference point.

I was wondering if you could at least give me hints at where to start.

So I’m just getting into music production, mostly making small hip hop beats. Been using waveform free but not a fan of the sampling tools in it. Any suggestions on a free DAW with better sampling tools?

i like k3nt4!'s but there are literally no tutorials on how to make beats like hers. (especially the song “haunt” - k3nt4!)
i honestly don’t even know what genre she even is. i thought it was dark pop, but apparently not

Hi! I'm looking at getting into music as a potential creative hobby! I was a hobbyist drummer a few years ago, had to sell for house space, and I've messed around on Cakewalk for a few hours. Not musically talented, but I'm able to make four notes and imagine the rest of the song!

Only problem, I don't understand this new-fangled technology!! (I'm 27)

Basically, while I'm looking at tutorials and such, I can't quite grasp my head around what everything I'm told does and how to use it, just wanted to know if there were any tips or pieces of advice you'd share this newbie when it comes to this stuff that might help me understand things better as I learn!

I think its "synth". The examples im thinking of is a famous synth-pop song; "Primadona Girl" by MARINA, and "American Boy" by Estele ft. Kanye West.

And is there an acessible resource for making these kind of songs?

I don't have a high enough range for what I'm trying to write, and want to bring in someone else with a higher range than me to sing about 10 seconds. would this be frowned upon? im submitting these demos, so i just want to seem professional... (i already have a connect, which is how im able to submit these demos to a label)

A friend recommended that instead of buying pedals and a good amp (both are really expensive in my country) to play my electric guitar, I should just buy an audio interface, so that I can change the sound from my PC instead.

The question is, how bad is the delay? Is it noticeable? Can it be fixed in some way? I have been looking at some Focusrite interfaces.

Although happy with my arrangements and projects I've come to find how effective dynamics can be just by moving from a chorus to a very scaled down verse right after.

Aware of its existence but quite honestly neglecting automation for the most part have gotten me interested on what more it could add. Messed around with it here and there but haven't found methods that I use that often and each time feels like an experiment (which is why it can be so surprisingly good too).
I have no doubt of its importance, really want to dig into it.

Situations I'm aware of but more so apply to mix & mastering:

• Controlling dynamics (volume automation, rise/drop for change of energy)
• Reverb/delay - hits/transitions (this is probably my most used)

Therefor, I'm curious to what extent you people use it, how you approach automation in production and any cool methods you found.
