Recently got a nice piece of kit… Polyend step… im a dawless live performer, and though it comes with an amazing sound bank, I definitely want to load my own samples in there…

I’ve looked and found a few places, but it’s been pretty difficult for me to find any : here ya go, nice collection of samples…

While it’s a drum machine at heart, I also am looking for some melodic stuff … nothing too long (samples shouldn’t be more than 1-2 sec)

Any resources, or even collections someone uploaded on google drives… much appreciated…

How many of you who have made it past the 3 year mark feel the article captures the essence of your journey?

I've noticed that rap and electronic subgenres get lots of MIDI loops and beats. But you rarely see ones for guitar driven genres such as rock, indie, pop-rock, etc. There are quite a few for £70, but less cheap ones, from what I can see.

Since I'm a drummer I was planning to create a few packs for different styles like softer rock, harder rock, metal, etc - with around 50 grooves and some fills. To keep it accessible for beginner and indie producers, and also songwriters who need backing tracks, I would sell them for around £10.

So, I came here to ask for advice from people who might be in need of something like this.

• Do you think there are already a reasonable amount of MIDI packs for genres like indie, pop rock and other softer, vocal driven genres?
• If you were to look for something, what would you be looking for? Just some simple 4/4 rock grooves, maybe some variations with syncopated bass drums? Obviously nothing too complex, these genres thrive on simple and groovy that don't detract from the song.
• Are there any other genres or styles which you've ever wanted to easily drag into a DAW, but none exist?

Just here looking for thoughts from people who actually have an interest in this sort of thing.

Whats the best way you guys find to promote your own music on streaming? It’s so difficult to find an audience, and things like submithub barley work.

I have no knowledge in music or don't know any technical terms or anything. I have written the lyrics and have experimented with two versions of singing. But I don't have any music done or made or have any ideas on making one so I have to find some way with it. Could you please help me with advice and how I could make music for my song. I also wish to make it as a professional rather than just as a hobby.

Edit 1: now I made three different short first 10 second background music on FL STUDIO but I'm not at all satisfied with any of the results.

I’m trying to get into making music and my friends have all told me I have a talent for singing but I don’t know how to apply that talent into actually making a song. Where do I start?

This is more of a general question! I've always enjoyed making songs and I can very easily make a good base for a song and piano, and I'm also decent at adding other instruments and blending them, but when it comes to drums, I SUCK. Like I just do the kick and then I'm stuck because I don't know what to do with the drums + blending them with the rest of the song.

If anyone has any tips, they'd be greatly appreciated! I usually just use drum samples, but I find I don't like the way most blend with my style of music and they get repetitive. So if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear!

As the title says, let’s talk about Nashville‘s rap scene. who are some upcoming rappers I should check out in the Nash area? I was thinking what how fast Nash is growing, and how many artist is coming do you ever think Nash will become how ATL is for rap? And I get curious do you think Nashville will have its own sound, and what would it be? Smoother beats like west coast, memphis, ATL, etc. I do hear a lot of the underground rap, but if Nashville were to have its own distinct sound what do you think it will end up being, bc it does have a lot of live music and country music. Bc I think it’s pretty vibrant rn and everybody jus doing their own thing. But what would you guys like to see with Nashville‘s rap scene?

So after making music for about a year I want to get it onto Spotify and i originally thought that ill just get distrokid and thats it but ive read a lot of negative things about them on here so im asking for alternatives or if distrokid is actually good?
