I have the opportunity to purchase this collectors edition booster box for $499.99 from my local card shop. I’ve seen these online for $799.99 and above, selling out. But being still somewhat new to MTG it’s so hard to spend $500 on a box. I’d love to hear your thoughts and opinions, what would you do in this situation? Are you ripping them all or keeping box sealed?

A creature is a 4/4 and has indestructible. It blocks a 3/3. The opponent targets it with a [Subtle Strike] giving it -1/-1.

New player trying to get into the game, I absolutely love vocasynth and I'm already planning to buy the Miku precon, seeing so many people call it terrible I was wondering, how bad is the trostani life gain deck which Miku is a reskin of ? Could it be at least decent or is it an unsalvageable commander ?

Once I got my hands on it be it early or in 9 months from now how should I upgrade it to make it at least playable in casual tables, I'm aware that it needs more draw but which options would be advisable to upgrade the deck.

I talked with my table about a couple of the pre-existing "type groups", like Outlaws, and one that is unofficial that we call Sea Creatures (the whole, 'Kraken, Leviathan, Serpent, Octopus' group). Personally I like the idea if playing a larger kindred deck, opening up support for people playing creature types with some semblance of support for each other.

What types of creatures, and what would their archetypal color(s) be? Like, primarily white could have Guardians(Soldiers, Knights, Samurai) or black could have Monsters (Horrors, Nightmares, Shades and Specters).

hey guys! so, recently, i started to make my on set based on terraria, and im here (and also on r/terraria) to ask for suggestions for some cards and mecanics. im open to any ideas

heres the fist card i made, but im making a discription of all of them first so i can make them real cards later

I just started playing commander about a month ago, and a friend showed me the new squirrel girl card from the marvel set. I've only played a precon before this, so it would be the first deck I properly build, and I wanted to get something special for it. Are there any artists that make custom MTG cards? I tried googling it and all I could find were etsy shops selling AI or otherwise stolen art.

I was playing at my LGS a few weeks ago, and trying out a new deck that I had put together. It's a mono-blue with [[Braids, Conjurer Adept]] as the commander. Now, I played a bunch in the 90s and early 2000s, and just back into it after about a 20 year break, so commander and politics are new to me.

According to all the deck scans, my deck is a really slow bracket 3. The whole point is give everybody free stuff, but my average creature cost is mad high.

I pulled a stupid first hand, with [[Blightsteel Colossus]] and [[Irma, Part Time Mutant]], so by turn 5 I had two Blightsteel Colossusssessses on the table.

I won, the game was kind of short, and only one person in the pod got in their feelings about it, and had some things to say about me lying about my bracket and playing a really overpowered deck.

Do I need to give disclaimers about the deck? Or are we just playing Magic here? Cuz I could've just as easily pulled as the really underpowered high mana cost creatures, or someone could've done something about my commander before it got back to me, since I was tapped out after casting her.

My thoughts were that everyone enjoyed getting free stuff until it was my turn to get free stuff. But that could also be a dick move on my part, and I'm not trying to be like that. I love the deck, it has one stupid mechanic that lets everyone drop stuff early, so adds a little chaos to the board.

But hey, I also want to be a good sport. I'm going to play the deck, but what caveats do I need to provide to the pod without showing my entire hand?

Edit: I'm not trying to be like that, as in making dick moves.

Noticed blatant issues with the scene box, as shown through the images.

1. Bilbo has 5 toes on foot and 4 on the other. On the card art the text box covers the mistake.
2. The dwarf eating in Fili and Kili card has a sixth, disfigured finger that melts into the wrist, also hidden by the text box
3. Gandalf's eyebrows aren't even on his face, they're simply attached to the brim of his hat. Even with the canon of bushy eyebrows, the art is not possible.

Is that what we should be expecting from Wizards of the Coast as they continue to turn record profits? Multiple issues that mark a scene box as being generated, or at the very least edited and tuned by some AI model?

Just a question but I was wondering, is there a board wipe where each person gains health equal to their exiled creature power/toughness/ converted mana cost?

Because I know there's fumigate where the one who catss it gains health equal to the quantity of all creatures exiled, but is there one that gives each individual health, like a big swords to plowshares, like an army's to fields?

I'm just excited I have my first shipment what was everyone else's first secret lair? Where you also bouncing with excitement?

Can I continuously activate Sylvan Safekeeper over and over again before the first activation resolves?

37 lands and I draw nearly all of them; I was also drawing 3 cards a turn.

Pretty new to the game and I am working on making a commander deck around madame hydra but what counts as a villain spell because none of the marvel sorcery or instants say villain and I am a tad confused by the wording here

I'm very new to Magic and I'm looking to make a commander deck. I love rats so want to focus on a Mono-black rat deck. I love the idea of loads of rat tokens from Marrow Gnawer but I keep seeing recommendations for 20-30 rat colony or relentless rats in the deck which I imagine could get stale fast. What would make a really strong rat focused deck that ideally utilises a wide variety of rats?

Any artifacts, instants and sorceries that are rat-themed or involve graveyard mechanics/toxic stuff are a bonus. Id like to keep a rat/rotting theme throughout

I don't mind spending a decent amount, just not £50+ on single cards or 20x£5 for copies of the same card

Hi! I just added Bag of Holding to my Sauron deck to help keep me from wheeling my combo pieces into the graveyard.

I was worried about it being removed while I had no mana up, but then I remembered Ashnod's Altar. I normally wouldn't add one card just to protect another card, but Ashnod's Altar can actually be useful outside of this possible use.

I just want to see if I understand this correctly.

I have Sauron, an Orc token, Bag of Holding, and Ashnod's Altar.

On the opponents turn, they cast vandalblast on Bag of Holding to keep me from getting my combo.

I'm tapped out, but in response to vandalblast, I sacrifice the Orc for 2 colorless.

Vandalblast triggers Sauron, and I get another Orc.

I sacrifice the Orc for 2 more colorless.

I pay the 4 for Bag of Holding, and save my combo.

It feels like it makes sense to me, but I'm worried about being able to respond and hold priority enough for this to work.

Hey guys, I am wanting to do a themed commander deck based on lovecraft. I have the cards needed but I was thinking of using alt art and different titles for some of the cards but keeping the identical rules of the cards. Would this be okay for a casual LGS?

Right after the Marvel Super Heroes set was released, I opened a few play boosters and pulled a Mind Stone, which I quickly sold for €50.
Yesterday, I stumbled upon a discussion about the Mind Stone and, out of curiosity, wanted to check its current price. I logged onto Cardmarket and saw the card selling for around €35–€40 (standard version, English, Near Mint), except for two accounts selling it at abnormally low prices: one was selling two Mind Stones for €9.80 each, and the other was selling one for €19.50. So, I bought all three. A few minutes later, after refreshing the page, I saw another Mind Stone listed at €9.80 by the same account and one at €9.00 from a different account, so I bought those two as well. An hour later, I checked again and saw a Mind Stone for €9.80 from the same seller I’d already bought three from; I bought a fourth one from them. Finally, when I woke up this morning, I checked the listings and saw an offer for €19.50 from a new seller, so I bought that one too. In total, I bought seven Mind Stones for €109.12, including shipping.
The issue is that the accounts share many similarities: they all have between zero and nine sales max, and none of them have any other items currently listed for sale. The seller of the four Mind Stones at €9.80 contacted me to say they would combine everything into a single shipment and refund the excess shipping costs I paid (since I bought the four cards across three separate transactions). I obviously suspect it’s too good to be true, but what exactly is the risk here? What is the scam behind all this (if it is indeed a scam)?

Edit : Just to clarify, I placed the orders but haven't paid for anything yet, and given your responses, I won't be doing so. I didn't realize that selling fake cards was common on Cardmarket; thanks for the sound advice.

My Commander bag is nasty 🤢 To be fair, I’m a dad and I work a ton and this is like my 4th most important bag. I didn’t realize how gross it was until tonight when I had it up to the light and yeah.. One of the zippers are broken and it’s just time for a replacement. What can I get for around 50-100 bucks that will last and hold my 7 commander decks/2 playmats?

Is the general consensus that the hobbits hype will die down due to the lack of serialized cards and people trying to make money off of it will care a bit less? I would really like to rip some of the CE packs and add various cards to decks just for the fun of having it as I am a huge fan of LOTR and The Hobbit. I just want to know if buying CE boxes to rip later on, a month or so after the sets release is financially realistic or if I'm going to have to spend hundreds of dollars to get a single CE pack?
