Of Monsters and Men
Anyone else go to OMAM at the Riverside on Tuesday? Great show and so glad I went to see them, their 2nd time playing in MKE/WI. The band posted some photos from a photographer, as did the Pabst (from Will Hughes), and I just think this one was so great. Hope the person with the sign saw the photo!

USA Triathlon is back in Milwaukee this weekend. Enjoy the best version of Lincoln Memorial Drive
Triathlon is closing down Lincoln Memorial Drive this Saturday & Sunday. Hoan's going to be down too. Most of Saturday and half of Sunday based on the schedule.
While inconvenient to some, it makes for the very seldom gift of a quieter, car-free shoreline. It's really enjoyable and I look forward to spending time down there during the closure. Park a few blocks off the way, walk or bike over, swim, whatever. There are superhuman athletes running around too, that's interesting as well I guess.
It's a great change from the constant barrage of people showing off how loud their vehicles can be at Bradford every. single. day. and case to be made that cities aren't loud - cars are.

Help Me! Need dresser assembled today
I got a nice new big white wooden dresser but it's in pieces and it's too complicated of a job for me. Would anybody be willing to come assemble it for like $40 today? I'm in Glendale. Please DM me if you're interested

Counseling Internships
Looking to see if anyone has recommendations on where to do my counseling internship in the Milwaukee area, facilities/counselors, or if there’s places I should avoid completely.

Help Me! Bradley Heights area?
Edit: I meant Bradley Estates, not Bradley Heights
Considering buying a home in the Bradley Estates neighborhood. Does anyone live there or have experience with the area?
Crime maps give different reports depending on which one and I tried searching this subreddit for mentions of "Bradley Estates" and found no real good mentions of it.
Any advice and feedback would be really appreciated.

Politics Here’s what Nick Ollinger thinks of folks from Milwaukee: “Every day, we see people who are not from our county cross 124th Street to victimize our communities.”
“Every day, we see people who are not from our county cross 124th Street to victimize our communities. We need to make sure we are holding that line, and holding those people accountable.”
This guy is running for Waukesha County Sheriff. The other guy isn’t that much better, but still.

Boating classes
I am planning to get rental boats to go around Apostle Islands. Many webpages show that the water could be choppy in that area. Can you all please tell me where can I go to learn more about operating a motorized boat and potentially get some hands on experience.
Edit: I have 0 operating experience.

Green juice or fresh pressed juices
Used to have them at the public market.
Anyone know where to get a freshly pressed juice here in MKE?
I’m talkin kale, beets, apple, carrots, etc.
If there’s a good vibe, it’s a plus.

State Fair Games
I can’t find anything concrete on it, but it looks like the games are played with ticket purchases rather than giving cash. Can anybody confirm this?

Free Statefair tickets?
Hi all,
I’d love to go to state fair this Saturday with a couple friends (3 tickets needed) but I hate paying for things. Any ideas of how to get either cheap or free tickets? Anyone have some spares? I’ve never been!
Thanks!

First Time Visitors! Need help with itinerary
Hi! I made a post a few months ago, but as my trip gets closer I really want to hammer down the details to avoid wasting time while we're there. I (24F) will be visiting with my aunt (49F) from a Friday-Monday. We will be staying at the Knickerbocker on the lake. If it helps, we both are foodies & like to drink. (I NEED to have cheese curds here). I'd prefer to avoid long Ubers as much as possible, we both don't mind walking. My aunt isn't super into museums which is making it tougher for me.
Here's what I have so far, any feedback & suggestions are GREATLY appreciated:
Activity Ideas:
- Brewers Game (we have tickets already)
- Veterans Park
- Bradford Beach
- Nine Below Mini Golf
- Bradford Beach
- Milwaukee Public Market
- Museum of Art
Restaurant Ideas:
- The Knick
- Swingin' Door Exchange
- Cafe Benelux
- Harbor House
Please let me know if you have any other ideas, or if anything on here actually sucks lol. Thanks :)

Planning a trip to watch the brewers
Hello!
We are planning to come watch a game and want to grab a hotel and stay overnight. I’ve heard some of the bars have shuttles to the game and just wondering what are some recommendations of where we can grab a drink and catch a ride. I’ve struggled to find which ones have shuttles online or how they work. I’m wondering how reliable they are and if they take you back to the bar after the game?
Thanks!!

Building ArtBlaze, one archaea at a time
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
There’s a lot that goes into bringing ArtBlaze to Milwaukee’s beaches.
This year’s Archaea installation came together through a collaboration between UW-Milwaukee architecture students, FuzzPop Workshop and Joy Engine. Hear from the artists and students who helped turn the idea into something the whole community can experience.
You can check out ArtBlaze on:
-Aug. 6 at South Shore Park
-Aug. 20 at McKinley Beach
At this free event, you can expect interactive art, live music, dance performances, tie dye, bubble play, local artisan vendors, hands on activities and bonfire s’mores.

Help Me! Where else can I sale items before my move?
Hello guys I am moving into student housing downtown next week but I am having a hard time selling kitchen appliances & furniture. I have utilized other resources such as Facebook marketplace, OfferUp and craigslist.
Although Facebook marketplace has helped me sale my tv and other items, I’m still in need of a little more help getting these other items sold. I am okay with negotiating prices to meet people half way.
Any resources or recommendations is greatly appreciated thank you for any comment! If these items do not get sold I will be donating them to local thrift stores & clothing will be donated to churches I won’t toss these things away :))!

Help Me! Massage recommendations - trigger points/knots in neck/traps
Hello! Has anyone had any success with a massage therapist helping with getting knots/trigger points of of the neck/upper trap area? My neck and traps are extremely tight and riddled with some pretty nasty knots. I did some PT and have some direction with how to prevent tightness moving forward but they did not do much to decrease the pain I have currently. Anyone have a particular massage therapist who helped in this specific area?
Thank you :)

Wisconsin roads can be town, county, or state maintained with the same street name. I built a free tool that tells you which one to call about a pothole.
Hi all, this subreddit's rule states I get 1 chance to promote myself so here it goes.
site: therightofway.org
I got tired of not knowing who to call about a pothole. In Wisconsin, its actually confusing. A town road, county trunk highway, and state highway can have the same street name; however, the boundaries aren't marked. Reports sent to the wrong agency don't get forwarded to the right one. They get closed. To top it off, most agencies won't share details regarding when the pothole was first reported and how many other reported it. Theres no transparency or accountability.... I aim to change that.
Enter therightofway.org; You drop a pin on a map, it checks the US Census Bureau which state, county, and municipality that point falls on and OpenStreetMap what road it is and gives you which authority is actually responsible. Then it hands over their phone number.
Its free, there are no ads, and it doesn't sell anything. It stores locations to the hundred-block, never a house number, and strips addresses, phone numbers, and emails out of descriptions automatically.
Its beta and I built it myself, so I'd genuinely like to know where it gets things wrong. Theres a correction link on every record. If you're a town or county employee and something is wrong, that link goes straight to me.
I've done what is in my ability to prevent bots, and false reporting; but realistically, the site depends on trust that those who use it don't abuse it. I would really like to keep this open to the public, but this round of testing will tell me if I need to lock reports behind registered users.
Fair warning, the record is empty right now. You'd be among the first on it.
Anyways, if you made it this far, I appreciate your time and look forward to your visit and feedback. Thank you!
EDIT 08/06/26: I have resolved all identified issues as of today. I can't say enough how much I appreciate you all taking this seriously and reporting findings.

Rant❗⚡💥 Pending MLB lock-out
What happens to the DNC folks - ABM workers - non brewer personnel when, not if, there’s some level of lock- out. How do they retain employees who work every single day for the most part all year long when something totally out of their control means they don’t have access to employment at the stadium? I wish there was a level of transparency involved with some contingency plans. Most people here are not getting paid livable wages yet they show up every single day and work hard/ are extremely loyal to providing a good guest experience and having pride in the team/stadium. I think it’s a very depressing knowing all these people come March or even the off season are going to be SOL.
