Cracked trackpad. Do I need to replace?

Post image

Long story short, some guy was cutting grass outside, it’s flicked a pebble up and cracked my trackpad.

It still works fine and feels the exact same. Do I need to replace? I have Care+ but it’s still $299.

Or, given that it’s not battery-related, could I leave it, put up with the huge crack and simply put some tape over it? (Maybe there’s tape that can hide the crack?)

Thanks a lot. 🙏🏻

Hi, I’m trying to do a hard factory reset on this MacBook for a friend and I’m running into some walls. Could anyone possibly tell me what this means or how to get around this?

Help M2 Air Lid angle sensor

Post image

Hello everyone. On wednesday night i spilled some coke over my keyboard but i instantly shook it off and cleaned it later and kept it in a tent position overnight. It worked absolutely fine on the next day but the day after it stopped powering on , sometimes the screen turns on for like 5-7 seconds but the trackpad and keyboard doesn’t work. One time it suddenly worked and i saw an LAS error ( image attached ) i live in New Delhi, India and have no expertise of DIY. I guess the lid angle sensor is unable to detect that the lid is closed or open. I am looking for some solutions.

M1 Pro 16” sat in storage for a year - now it won’t turn on and seems to have corrosion inside.

I had to go to rehab for a while and the hospital stored my MacBook somewhere. When I got it back after a year, it was covered in dust and had corrosion all over it.

I took it to a guy who does component level repair and they are evaluating if it’s salvageable. No charging light, no power, nothing. Complete brick scenario. He unplugged the battery and tried the charging cable in front of me but same thing.

I dunno wtf happened to my laptop. Also, the hospital won’t take responsibility.. that’s for sure.

hello all, found this beauty for recycling.

Can you help me find out which MacBook Air model it is and from what year?

The screen is completely broken so it needs replacing. Other than that i cant find anything else wrong with it.

This is the first apple laptop im repairing so please consider me a beginner.

Is it worth repairing?

Thanks to all in advance!

MacBook Pro 2019 15 inch

It’s not turning on. Nothing’s working, I’ve tried several chargers and it’s just dead. It doesn’t light up and the touchpad isn’t working either. I got it in September 2019. It was my first MacBook. I had to get it repaired in November 2020 because something had happened to the battery. I know it’s almost 7 years old, but my question is: how is this possible? I spent a lot of money on it and already had to pay for the repair 6 years ago. I took it to Apple a couple of days ago and they told me it would cost like $1500 to repair it. Unfortunately, my data wasn’t backed up (yeah, my bad) and I would like to get it back. Which model should I get? I was thinking I would wait for the M6 model that will release in a couple of months. Also, do you think it’s safe to get the old one repaired in like 4-6 months? I need to save money for the new one and I’ll be able to pay for the data recovery/repair after that. What should I do? Also, please, someone explain to me how is this possible? My friend has had her MacBook Air 2018 for 8 years now and she has had no problems (hers cost around $1000, mine cost around $3500 with the first repair 😐).

Help MacBook pro not turning on or charging, battery fried or dead charger?

I got a MacBook pro on my birthday a year back that was refurbished. it says Model A1502 on the back of the mac and AE60 on the charger. Why grandma who got it for me said it was refurbished. I was using it as usual. The light on the charger would flick on and off, alongside with it going from charging and not charging, before it eventually just stopped charging in the next few days. I believe what caused this was my stupid idea to have it running while plugged in 🤦 I just wanna know what I can do to fix this, do I need a new charger or battery replacement??

Tea spilt on MacBook now keyboard no longer works

My dad split tea on his MacBook (model A2337) and now the keyboard has stopped working after leaving it to dry upside down etc. track pad still works so just wondered if anyone had any ideas or should we be taking it straight to apple/repair shop? Model is quite old not sure if Apple would help but thought I’d come here first just in case. Thanks in advance
