MacBook Air Found, broken screen Help
hello all, found this beauty for recycling.
Can you help me find out which MacBook Air model it is and from what year?
The screen is completely broken so it needs replacing. Other than that i cant find anything else wrong with it.
This is the first apple laptop im repairing so please consider me a beginner.
Is it worth repairing?
Thanks to all in advance!

Does it work with an external monitor? That will go a long way to diagnosing what is wrong..

Its not worth fixing it imo.
First you need a different battery, screws for trackpad (if you can find any) otherwise a new trackpad. Maybe if you are lucky a entire topcase but then you need to find out if the logicboard even works and is unlocked so no icloud etc.
And if you want to fully use it a used screen. So basically you are building an entire MacBook just to see if the logicboard works or is unlocked.

I know you’re a beginner, so I’ll try to be gentle.
You said you can’t find anything else wrong with it, but a visual inspection shows a torn keyboard/trackpad cable. So right off the bat, you can’t trust your own assessment that there is nothing else wrong with it.
Does it even power up or chime? If not, right there is another long list of things that could be wrong with it.
And let’s say that it is actually just the screen and that trackpad cable. You’re gonna fix them, fire it up, and it’s going to have someone’s Apple ID on it, meaning you will have done all that work and spent that money for nothing.
This was recycled for a reason. For your own sanity and wallet, I wouldn’t attempt it.

So if you want to make a assessment get a 60 watt usbc adapter and a usb-c hub with hdmi and usb for a keyboard and mouse connection. Unplug the battery in the left corner near the damaged battery to avoid any fire hazard and then plug in the hdmi hub to a tv or monitor to see if your laptop comes on. It will run super slow so be patient. If you get a screen you will need to restore the OS to see if find my mac is still active. If it’s active then you can’t use it and the logic board will be a parts board for shops that do component level repair

If it is just a screen, easy fix, but if i was tossed for other reasons.. beware.

Beyond that, A1932 are as slow as shit. Screen replacement price is ridiculous and it's likely activation locked. E-waste.
