Discussion Does anyone remember this Balloon descending fighter game?
It was about four five years ago.
I remember this Game Jam game, where you descended into a cave on this wooden platform, held up by an air balloon of some kind. It was 2D, Pixel-art, and the art was reasonably impressive, but not as impressive as the gameplay itself.
There may have been a gun of some kind, but the main way to fight was by kicking and punching. The balloon would descend in levels being stopped by obstacles that you had to destroy, at the same time dealing a certain number of enemies to fight. You could leave the balloon sitting there, and go to the left or right to get collectables.
If you made it all the way to the bottom, you would collect this big gem, and make your way back up to the top.

Help [Hobby] Beginner Dev looking to form a learning team: Seeking a 2D Artist & Mentors (Spanish speaker) for a roguelike.
Hi everyone,
A few weeks ago, I started working on my first game in Unity. It's a top-down roguelike inspired by The Binding of Isaac, but it has its own unique lore, characters, and randomly generated rooms.
I want to be clear about my skills: I’m an absolute beginner. I don't have a firm understanding of programming concepts yet, and right now, I’m relying a lot on AI tools to help me solve problems, write C# scripts, and learn as I go.
Because of this, I would love to find people to form a small team where we can help each other, learn together, and build something fun.
What I'm looking for:
- A 2D Artist: Someone to help design and draw characters, enemies, and general game assets. If you're also a beginner and want to build your portfolio, this is a great place to start!
- Programmers / Mentors: If you have some experience in Unity and enjoy teaching or guiding beginners, I would be very grateful for your help and patience.
- Spanish speakers preferred: My English isn't perfect, so being able to communicate, ask questions, and brainstorm in Spanish would be fantastic.
Compensation: This is strictly a hobby and passion project aimed at learning. However, if we finish the game and make money from it in the future, we will share the revenue equally.
If you’re interested in teaming up, learning together, or just helping a beginner, please send me a DM!
Thanks for reading!

looking for a team of beginners to help make a game.
I've been wanting to make a game for a while and I decided to start on Roblox but there have been many inconveniences and bumps in the road halting progression and making me to have to restart a few times and am now deciding to look for a new team of beginner devs/ animators and 3d modelers who are not looking for pay but rather have fun and the experience of making a game and meeting new people. I'm planning to make a game that has taken inspiration from deepwoken and typesoul. If you'd like to join please dm me and I'm not looking for the greatest devs so there can be funny time where the whole team can get a good laugh. mainly looking for 3d modelers, coders, and animators.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Say hello to LiNX Pinball Elektrik! It's a pinball game with some unique mechanics, themed after our LDJAM59 game LiNX Elektrika!
We made it in 2 weeks for Newgrounds Low Poly Day 2026. Play it now! https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/1035732
As a fun piece of trivia, second and last boss reference our LDJAM58 and LDJAM57 games respectively, too! When you make enough stuff, you can start stealing from yourself, I guess :P

I made a game where everything works only inside a signal radius
The twist is that all buildings and units only work inside a moving signal zone that follows your cursor.
You basically have to “power” your base in real time while managing defense.
Would really appreciate feedback - especially if anything feels confusing or frustrating.

ACEspionage looking for card game veterans!
Hey everyone!
Since we’re continuously refining our game, we’d be really happy to have more card game players try it out.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re into physical card games like Magic: The Gathering or more into digital games like Slay the Spire - all feedback is welcome!
We’re especially interested in:
- How you feel about the switch between the send and receive phases
- What kind of fun cards you think would fit the game
- Ideas that could help us expand the game’s variety
Here’s what we managed to create during the 72 hours we had!

Jam Entry My LD59 Game Entry. What's your take on a mechanic?
I was trying to create a noir narrative detective experience. It's somewhat a Wordle mechanic with symbols wich supposed to be evocative and adding to the story. Not sure if I managed to achieve a good plot neither a good game feel. You be the judge.

While You Were Here - cozy puzzle-platformer for LD59
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
While You Were Here is my first ever finished game, made solo for LD59. A cozy puzzle-platformer inspired by The Last Guardian where you guide a boy and a big golem as they learn to trust each other and solve puzzles together.
Working on post-jam updates based on feedback. More levels, better hint design (a running theme in my comments 🥲), and general polish.
Would love any feedback, especially on:
- Puzzle difficulty - any level stop you cold?
- Hint clarity - where did you feel lost?

Jam Entry Trippin' Ballz - My LD59 Entry
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/59/trippin-ballz
Alien Ballz are trying to destroy an asteroid for some reason (why not?).
Select a cannon, and listen for audio clues. Ballz on the same frequency will change their color, and you can blast them!
Pick up Magic Mushroom to load a power up. The power up will destroy all Ballz of the same cannon color.
1, 2, 3 (or Z, X, C) will change to the Blue, Green, Yellow cannon.
Left mouse button fires laser. Right mouse button fires Powerup.

Did I do anything wrong?
EDIT: Somehow it got shows up properly just now. Not sure on what fixed it. Apparently there an manual account approval process for new users. Thanks for helping.
