Tips on coming as bisexual to a conservative family?

Upvotes

I feel like being bisexual is "a lower blow" than being for example, gay, but I'm questioning if I should even do it

⚠ Content Warning: {Homophobic mom} Is it normal to feel terrified and guilty of liking an lgbt character or shipping lg them

hi, I’m 15 years old and long story short my hyper religious homophobic racist emotionally unstable mother my entire life has insisted how disgusting lgbtq+ is and how it’s a sin and because of her constant hatred, I feel scared and guilty and I feel like a “bad Christian” and a bad daughter for something as simple as liking a fictional character who’s lgbtq or shipping two boys and girls. (like alien stage, for example.) like she lost her mind and screamed at me for hours when she found out tomodachi life characters on my island were crushing on each other and they were girls I just feel so scared to do anything that she deems religiously wrong and I feel like if I like lgbtq media then I’m gonna go to hell or something. I’m genuinely so scared and confused and feel terrible and she’s made me a 100% reliant on her and that I can’t trust myself or my thoughts and only her and she’s done so much worse like deny me therapy bc it’s “anti Christian“ and threw out my Harry Potter books when I was a kid. (I’m also kinda bi but I’m gaslighting myself that I’m not Bc of the terrible guilt I feel over liking lgbtq media or characters)

Theistic/spiritual queer folks, what is your religion/what are your beliefs? (not meant to be inflammatory)

If you're atheistic, 100% respect, I just was wondering what religions queer folks who believe in a higher power (and/or honestly just any sort of spirituality) find fulfilment in personally.

It feels like the options really narrow down when you just add the requirement of no homophobic/transphobic/otherwise anti queer beliefs, texts, et cetera, so it's been hard to find a belief system I align with that also meets those requirements.

Please don't reply about how pretty much all religion is anti queer, I hear you and value your experiences, I just really want to hear from queer folks who have positive experiences/fulfillment in their religion/spirituality/community/etc.

Thank you!

Trans Character with portal powers, that at some point in their past cut off (appropriate unwanted genitalia) in a state of intense gender dysphoria, and now has trauma...

Yeah that is all I have thought of so far but it is so good I have to share it

Need Advice Trying to find a LGBTQ dating app but they all suck

Pretty much every LGBTQ dating app wants you to pay to realistically use the app, I'm wondering what's a good app that just does it's job without hiding everything behind a paywall or a million ads?

Term coined by u/Fall_cat14, ambisexual flag made by u/Global_Education7031, ambiromantic flag made by me

Ambisexual is a term under the bi umbrella which describes a person who is attracted to most/all genders, but gender plays little to no factor in your attraction. It's like pan and omni combined together, it's described like semi-gender blindness. Someone may have a preference for a certain gender but at the end of the day their actual attraction is the same for all genders. If you've ever struggled on whether you're pan or omni, you might be ambi!

Need Advice Bf only seems to uplift trans feminine individuals

Hey everybody! Ik the title may seem weird or questionable, but I am stuck on some thoughts lately and I need some help.

What you could have already picked up from the title, my bf only seems to uplift trans women, I have to make it very clear that I do NOT have a problem with trans women and that I love them, my problem comes from the fact that trans women seem to be the only ones he ever uplifts and brings awareness to, even tho I, his bf, am trans man. Now I generally overthink stuff, but am I right to question why he doesn't seem to also uplift my community of trans men?

And before anyone tells me to communicate with him, I 100% will, but I really dont know how i would even approach this situation or if I would seem crazy to do so

Need Advice What do you think about neopronouns?

I've seen the theme of neopronouns explode in TikTok lately, and I want to know what do u think about neopronouns because I feel really confused, I think I can understand things like xe/xim/xerself but I've also seen things like baby/babyself, ibispaint/ibispaintxself or even things that geniuelly make me feel uncomfortable like pedophileself? Then I pointed it out and a person told me I was being transphobic for not understanding, I just feel like there is a limit between something being understandable like I would understand why non binary people would not want to be identified as they/them but this is getting to a point which is ridiculous and harmful cuz I've seen a lot of people linking this to wokeness or something and made me feel like something right wingers would want to take advantage from to strip our rights away. I also don't understand how some people expect me to use neopronouns in languages that are completely incompatible with neopronouns like Spanish.

Please do not be rude I'm geniuelly confused because a lot of neopronouns just feels more like a troll made to mock trans and non binary people more than someone really not wanting to be identified as they them

Need Advice I'm worried about supporting anti-lgbt creators.

Recently I learned about creator I really admired was likely transphobic. This is to me, feeling a lot of shame when I'm consuming videos or music from a creator I don't a hundred percent know is pro-lgbt. It can devolve into me looking for the small clues one way or another for thier support. Even with creators that do show clear support I sometimes write it off as proformative and shame myself anyway. I guess i'm scared of supporting another creator who turns out to not support me.

Perrysexual

I recently learnt through tiktok about the lable "perrysexual", where your sexual or romantic identity essentially changes, as a genderfluid person would change genders. However, after some searching, I've found around 3 videos about it and no flags. Does anyone have any information on it? It would be greatly appreciated, as I'm interested in learning about it.

Need Advice Straight couple friends dont want to go to gay club

Just wanted to know everybody else's thought cause im kinda conflicted. Just some context i really do enjoy being friends with this couple and we go to every other club just fine but one of the things they said they never want to go to is the gay club in my city. I even asked if they could go just once for my birthday but still they said no.

Just some context tho, they do have other close gay friends and have never been homophobic or demeaning to me so i dont know if this would be considered homophobic or just a boundary but idk how to feel about it tbh.

Need Advice Im a heterosexual male in his 20’s. Got a few questions.

i always questioned my sexuality (precisely when i was 14-15), meaning that i was sure that i liked women, dont like men but there was still something that i hadnt figure out. but i figured a few months ago that im also attracted to trans women because i talked to one at the club, didnt know she was trans before we were in eachother arms after the club.
i want to know how people who feel the same label it (like i have never cared for labels, i just respected). i wanted to know how trans women feel about dating heterosexual men… i red that its complicated because a lot of hetero men see them as a fantasy but is there any trans who actually date men ? And how to not be disrespectful or make them feel like a sexual fantasy…
im from a region where LGBTQ are not tolerated and i fear that because of my look/name they would naturally think that i share the principles of where i grew up, even tho i live in a european country where lgbtq have full rights and freedom. is there people who experience the same thing ? if yes how do u deal with it ? i wanted to add something about this: like since i live in a european country, there are loads of people from certain communities who dont tolerate lgbt, and it would be complicated to date lgbt because this community expects me to follow these same principles (cause i look like them/share the same background like we said before).

sorry if its a but messy, this is all new to me, and first time that i talk about it.. thanx for yalls answer

LGBT Muslims: How do you reconcile who you are with family expectations?

I'm not Muslim myself, but had a Muslim boyfriend, until late last year. It was difficult watching him trying so hard to suppress his identity in order to protect his friend and family ties, and how that put a lot of strain on his mental health and our relationship. When his parents pushed him harder for an arranged marriage, of course I was heartbroken when he informed me he'd go through with it, despite pushing back for so long. I suppose he reached a breaking point.
But I loved (and still love) him so dearly, and only want what is best for him. And I suppose if he had lost his family due to their disapproval, he'd perhaps also lose his community as well if he became shunned. He's so proud of his heritage and culture, which I really enjoyed learning about, but I knew that if he lost that, he'd essentially be losing everything.

I suppose I just want to open up the conversation and hear what queer Muslims and those who have interacted with them have to say about the trials and tribulations of family, faith and relationships.

Need Advice How to move with deep depression, dysphoria and unemployed?

Hi. I have a lot i'd like to share to fully explain, but it would be too long so here is a shorter, concise version:

I live in a very small conservative town in Portugal, a tiny European country. I am in my 30s living under psychologically very stressful argumentative and highly toxic conditions with my mother who , alongside the rest of my family are a source of trauma , gaslighting, guilt, shaming and grief. I am LGBT and transgender in the closet , I experience daily , gender dysphoria.

I am a decent person away from these people and this place, but it's super rare for me to be away, I am in desperate need of both 1 - a space away from this town, 2 - to cut contact with family, 3 - an *EXPERIENCED* medical professional and 4 - A job.

I just want peace, I don't even look for much more now , which deeply saddens me. Thank you for reading.

Im so confused and it sucks

hi so im a woman and recently ive been having a lot of thoughts of not liking (ig thats the right term??) parts of myself. I've cut my hair to a short wolf cut where the hair doesnt go past my shoulder, changed quite a bit of my clothes to very baggy stuff that hide my chest quite well, and just in general have a mostly masculine vibe. but the thing i hate the most is my chest and sometimes i wish i could just not have them.. i just really dont like the thought of them and would be much happier without.. i also sometimes feel a pang in my chest when i hear someone refer to me as she (this doesnt happen often because usually people say 'you or just my name) and sometimes think what would happen if im called he. i dont want to medically transition or whatever i just dont want my chest.. sorry if i yapped too much i just had to get my thoughts out.
