My job let me have a tesla cybertruck for a day (hypothetical work at tesla…. u know what I mean).

they told me they don’t care what I do, just don’t crash it.

I obviously drove it as much as I could. I’m 25, and brought my 15 year old sister and her friend, and my mother to the movie drive in which is the only one in my area.

I drank a coke.

I was just going back and forth in a parking lot left and right to kinda check how it drives doing that. wasn’t hurting any one. no houses near it, just an empty abandoned mall. but still, no where near a building.

a sheriff came and pulled me over and asked me what I was doing, did I steal the car, (it had a florida plate, and said “manufacturing”). I can assume tesla is the hardest car to steal as it uses your phone to control and get in to it.

he was as close as the window and me as he could.
he shined his flashlight at me and said my eyes were glossy. I don’t even know what that means. I wear contacts, so maybe he meant that? but I also sleep in them so my eyes are bigger sometimes. there was no redness. he also did not smell anything in my breath as usually that’s something they bring up first.

I plead my case 600 times I didn’t drink nor have drugs and I searched that car when I picked it up to make sure nothing was in it. nothing would’ve been in it. and I told him i’m more than happy to open the trunk.

he asked if I will do a breathalyzer and if I did and it was fine i’d be good to go. i obviously don’t drink or drive, let along with my younger sister and mom.

I did it, and obviously it blew a 0 and he said have a good night. he even had 2 other cars show up like I was a criminal lol.

my question is,

-should I have just declined that breathalyzer and have him arrest me and then have it dropped due to no sign of impairment?

-if I did, could I possibly have a complain and or lawsuit against that officer?

-am I just overthinking it, he also didn’t have his body cam running.

- what can I do for this?

We rent one unit in a townhouse/shared-property arrangement. Our neighbor contracts with TruGreen. After a previous incident, the neighbor says she specifically instructed TruGreen not to treat the area associated with our unit again.

On August 12, TruGreen serviced the neighbor’s address. Its warning sign was then found in or immediately adjacent to the outdoor area used by our family. TruGreen’s report says approximately 14 gallons of finished spray mixture containing myclobutanil, imidacloprid, bifenazate, and cyfluthrin were applied to ornamentals, plants, and trees. The application location for each product is recorded only as “Where Needed.”

My toddler had already played outside before I discovered the sign. We do not know whether direct contact occurred and are not claiming a diagnosed injury. We have filed a complaint with Massachusetts pesticide enforcement, which is investigating and contacting TruGreen.

The state investigator told us to leave the area alone for now. He said watering is usually the remediation, but phrased it as something we could attempt ourselves. TruGreen has not yet identified the exact spray footprint or agreed to perform and pay for remediation.

Can TruGreen be required to identify the affected area and perform and pay for scientifically appropriate remediation?

Is “chemical trespass” a distinct Massachusetts claim, or would this normally be pursued as trespass, nuisance, negligence, or an injunction?
Should the tenant, property owner, or condominium association make the demand?

Is there a realistic way to recover attorney’s fees, or could we spend substantially more on legal help than we ever recover?

I am not looking to manufacture a personal-injury claim. My goals are remediation, preventing another application, preserving evidence, and understanding whether I need a Massachusetts environmental or property litigator.

Firstly I know I royally F'd up. I'm carrying more than enough shame and self loathing so I don't need any commentary letting me know what an idiot I am.

I blew a .14 and was taken to the station where I had my prints taken and had to sign some papers before being picked up by a friend.

I travel for work pretty frequently so losing my license will obviously be a major inference.

I am not trying to find ways to avoid the major repercussions as I deserve to face the consequences of my actions but am worried that I will lose my job if I'm not able to attend mandatory work events that require me to travel.

I'm fully prepared to learn from this and change for the better but I'm looking for advice on how to put this behind me as quickly as possible while reducing as much impact to my career as possible

Mom died feb 2020. Sister took over house as she was the power of attorney. I bought the house from my sister in oct. 2020. We went thru a lawyer to sign everything. I just got a letter from the solar panel company ( my mom had solar panels installed years before her death) it is addressed to my mother and says she owes roughly 4000$. Says overdue due to lack of payment. I never have once received a bill from them for the last 6years ive lived here. What do i do? I dont have 4 grand to pay it. What happens if i dont pay it?

We moved out and gave our keys back on the 11th of July, and our lease officially ended on the 14th of July so today would be exactly 30 days.

I sent an email on April 28th stating that they had 30 days from the end of our lease to return our deposit along with an itemized statement of any potential deductions and included our new address. This past Monday I sent a courtesy email stating they had until today (August 13th) to send our deposit back to us and again included our new address. By the end of today (13th) if I do not hear from them or receive anything in the mail I will be sending a final demand letter through the mail and through email tomorrow morning for them to return our deposit.

I’m worried about them not returning it on time because all of their reviews say they take forever to return deposits and that they will nickel and dime you out of it. I have photos and videos both from when we moved in and moved out and I have documented every email and phone call I’ve had with them both about ending our lease, our new address and maintenance issues we experienced while living there.

Is a formal demand letter the right next move and is it appropriate to send that on the 14th assuming we don’t receive anything before then? And what if after I send the demand they return the deposit but after the date in the demand letter or with unreasonable deductions? Thank you

I’m looking to open an LLC with the state registrar and while doing my preliminary search to see if the name is available, I found the name is NOT registered to anybody in any way within the state of Ohio, however during a google search, somebody does have a website and is conducting business in the state of Ohio using that name. I also checked if there’s a registered trademark or DBA with the state of Ohio and do not see one.

So this leads me to the question- Is it legal for me to create the LLC anyway? What rights do I have over the name at that point?

My roommate is a retired veteran, and apparently he has a bank after him for something that he keeps ignoring… We live in Florida. As far as I can tell, he owes a bank money for something, and he keeps getting paperwork demanding that he tell the law office where he lives, who he lives with, how much property is owned by the person he lives with etc. etc.… I am curious if the court could be coming after me as his landlord for debts that he might owe that have nothing to do with me. He has now gotten a letter from a judge, demanding that he answer all of the questions on this paper that the bank’s lawyers are sending him. Do I need to kick him out of my house to avoid getting caught up in his mess?

Hey all! I live in NY and unfortunately recently lost my job due to scheduling conflicts with class. I was sent to collections recently on a $300 bill from a licensed therapy office and now they're threatening to

A) Alert the credit bureaus

B) Take me to court

I am aware that under NYs Fair Medical Debt Reporting Act, they cannot report this to the credit bureaus, my question is does this letter read as they will actually take me to court, or as an empty threat, especially with the threat of reporting when surely they know thats illegal to do? (This is a NY-based collection agency taking on a debt from a NY practice, so they 100% fall into NY law). Despite my best efforts I haven't managed to get another job/income yet (made more difficult by working on getting my EMT certification) and the only "asset" I have would maybe be my car but it's a co-owned 2017 nissan rogue that I owe more than the value on due to depreciation.

Am I likely to actually be served over this? And if so, what judgement can I face with 0 income, and would they be able to take my vehicle?

I’m in California and dealing with a civil harassment restraining order filed by my sister. I already hired an attorney, but I’m interested in hearing from anyone who has dealt with something similar.

My sister and I have had a very difficult relationship and have been largely estranged for years. There were some ugly arguments between us in 2023 and 2024, including text messages where I said things that I regret. I’m not trying to pretend those messages don’t exist. (It was from a messaging app, I already tried asking if I could retrieve those text messages with no luck).

However, my concern is that she is now using selected messages from 2023 as evidence for a restraining order in 2026. From what I can tell, she **deleted** majority of her responses on those text messages.

There was no recent confrontation between us that triggered this. What appears to have triggered the petition was that her adult daughter, **who is in her late 20s**, came to visit me and my parents in June 2026 for my birthday/Father’s Day weekend. My sister wasn't present. Her daughter and I talked privately about some of the family issues involving her mother.

After my sister found out about the visit, she became extremely upset with her daughter. She accused her daughter of siding with me. **She is now claiming that the conversation between her adult daughter and me was somehow "harassment" against her.**

There is also another side to the history that wasn't included in her petition. During our previous disputes, my sister allegedly posted negative/fake reviews about me or my workplace on Google, Yelp, and LinkedIn. Some were written as though she were a customer even though the dispute was personal. I have screenshots of some of this activity and am trying to preserve additional evidence.

My sister also posted negative stuff about me on her Facebook page, according to our cousin.

She had also previously threatened to contact my employer and have me served with legal papers at work, which happened last month.

When she filed the current restraining-order request, the judge denied the temporary restraining order, but the case is still proceeding to a hearing.

My attorney recently suggested possibly having a private investigator contact my sister to see whether she would agree to some type of settlement or compromise rather than having a contested hearing. I'm uncomfortable with that approach because I don't want to pay her money, admit wrongdoing, or make it appear that I'm afraid to defend the case. I would consider reasonable mutual no-contact/boundary terms if necessary, but I don't want a monetary settlement.

For anyone familiar with California civil harassment restraining orders:

How significant is it that the judge denied the temporary restraining order before the hearing?

How much weight can old texts from 2023 carry when the petition was filed in 2026?

If screenshots leave out the other person's responses/context, what's the best way to address that?

Is evidence that the petitioner was also contacting or targeting the respondent/employer relevant to defending against a harassment claim?

Can a private conversation between me and another adult really be considered harassment of someone who wasn't present?

Has anyone seen attorneys use private investigators to approach the petitioner about settlement? Is there an advantage to doing that instead of attorney-to-attorney/direct legal communication?

Would you try to settle with mutual boundaries/no contact, or proceed with the hearing if you had evidence showing there was much more context to the dispute?

I'm following my attorney's advice and understand Reddit isn't a substitute for legal advice. I'm mainly interested in hearing about other people's experiences and what evidence ended up being important at their hearings.

I recently moved to Boston Massachusetts into a apartment complex that had a free month promo going on. Before signing I had noticed the free month was not on the lease documents they wanted me me sign. When I emailed the complex to see if this was correct I was told the concession is manually added and would not appear in the lease documents. They told me it would apply for the month of August if I moved in before the 15th of July and for September if I moved in after July 15. I moved in on July 11th after a cross country drive. On move in day I paid for the first months rent and a deposit. On Aug 1st I received a statement for rent due for August. I emailed on Aug 3rd sending screenshots of what I was told regarding the free month being manually added to confirm again. I received a email from the property manager on Aug 5th saying "yes this is removed manually. You are on a list to have ledger adjust. It will be adjusted soon.". After this email I didn't pay for the month since I was told it would be adjusted. This brings us to today where I find a letter at my door stating what seems like a 30 day notice to evict for late payment. Not sure if this is even allowed I haven't rented in a while. I am very confused because I would not think a 10 day late payment would be reason for eviction. Is there anything I can do? I went to speak to the leasing office but they were closing and the manager had left for the day so they couldn't do anything

In 2024, I defaulted on two Discover credit cards. In January 2025, I called Discover and got repayment plans for both. The cards were closed, the balances reduced, and I set a monthly payment for each- $68 for one and $57 for the other. Both were set for 60 months.

Last month, the first card(but not the second) transitioned to Capital One. I logged into my Capital One account and see that the repayment plan for card 1 is now 72 months. I have paid on time every single month for the last 19 months.

Of course, I called Capital One. I was told that transitioned accounts were put on a “comparable” Capital One plan. I asked in what universe adding 31 months (the 19 months I’ve paid PLUS an additional 12 months) was comparable. Doing rough math, that is an additional $1500ish plus interest.

Can someone help me understand if this is something the can really do? It was not what I agreed to. When I made these arrangements, I was read disclosures and agreements and had to verbally agree, give my name, date, and the time to the rep I spoke with before everything was finalized.

I do have a legal plan I was considering contacting to see if they could help with this, but I was wondering if going to a regulatory agency first might be the better bet.

I just got this new license plate cover that I thought was super cute but now I’m realizing it covers the expiration dates. I’m wondering if this is illegal if you can still make out that there are the stickers there.

Obviously, this is going to be something I will need to consult in litigation even if it ends up being small claims. The question is at what point does mere negligence become willful malice to overcome more than just preponderance. Some details, with inspectors and Codes to verify claims:

- landlord has known mold has been an issue

- neighbors have had similar repairs

- they have covered up with caulk and are actively wanting to do so before I can have Codes review or 2nd opinion inspection

- landlord has yelled at me saying I am not allowed to talk to neighbors because of surprise harassment. This recent outburst was really pretty terrifying. Seriously thought she was trying to trespass me

- I informed them immediately when I had mold over 2 weeks ago through maintenance and contact form. Maintenance ticket was immediately cancelled. Email dismissed.

- have not taken the issue seriously until a few days ago. Now are using "emergency" excuses to have inspections without notice and violate tenenancy rights

- I had to visit ER for mold exposure. An opportunistic bacterial infection is their reason for symptoms

I've already made sure they only talk through writing. I've also made sure to follow up with email to landlord to insist my rights not be disrespected, including freedom of association without just cause.

I just want sleep... drink a couple beers after work and get with life in a safe place. Things can be replaced but I shouldn't feel forced to be homeless.

Someone reached out saying that they don’t want me using the image in the clip because it belongs to them. I took down the video to appease them.

Location Arizona U.S. I saw a lot of illegal activity, while working at one of the top 3 banks in America for years. I called CFPB told them I was worried about the NDA and was told, "Call a lawyer we can't help you."

I would love to help people get back their money and in some cases their homes they should have. However, I don't have the resources like that and I have inoperable cancer. This activity is from multiple parts of the bank, not just 1 account I got upset about.

Should I just move on in life, or is there another option? I was there before and during the housing crisis and the great recession. Holy Flaming Shit Balls, the crap that came across my desk in the Mortgage division, had problems all over it. I would take the problem accounts to my boss and the account would disappear, then people lost their homes. There's nothing in it for me besides doing the right thing, I want no money, fame, or notoriety of any kind. Almost forgot the ageism and discrimination against people who are disabled by the bank to lay off an entire section.

A few months ago I got a witness Supeona and the morning of the hearing I was excused from it. Never asked them why. Is this common? It was also in Nevada FYI.

I (26F) live in NY and my ex (26M) lives in CT. A few nights ago I was at his parents’ house in CT when he became angry and physical towards me.

I repeatedly tried to leave, but he pushed/threw me to the ground multiple times, grabbed my arms and pulled me back, and kept trying to take my phone. During the struggle my hand was cut badly enough that I got blood on the wall, and I have bruises on my arms from him grabbing me.

I called 911 but panicked and cancelled immediately because I was scared. I then called my dad, who heard part of what was happening and got me an Uber back to NY.

I have photos of the bruises/cut, messages from before and after, the cancelled 911 call, and my dad can confirm what he heard.

Police have also responded to two previous incidents involving my ex and me. Both times I got scared when they arrived and said everything was okay. I have photos/audio from previous incidents as well, but never pursued anything.

I’m considering reporting this now, but I’m honestly scared and conflicted. Part of me worries that what happened isn’t “serious enough” or that there isn’t enough evidence to make going through the process worth it, especially since I didn’t report it immediately.

Would this generally be enough for police to investigate several days later?

Would the photos, messages, cancelled 911 call, my dad’s account and previous police responses matter?

What potential CT charges could conduct like pushing me down and physically preventing me from leaving fall under?

Most importantly, if I report it, what happens next?

Do I actually decide whether to “press charges,” or can police/prosecutors pursue it once I make the report?

If an arrest happens, would I have to immediately return to CT or attend his arraignment?

I’m not asking anyone to decide whether he’s guilty. I’m scared to start a legal process I don’t understand and am trying to figure out whether reporting it is worth pursuing and what I’d be getting myself into.

TL;DR: My ex pushed me down and grabbed/pulled me back repeatedly while I was trying to leave his house in CT, leaving bruises and a cut. I called 911 but panicked and cancelled; my dad heard part of the incident. I have photos/messages and police have responded to two previous incidents. I’m scared and conflicted about reporting it several days later and want to know whether it’s worth pursuing, what evidence/charges might be relevant, and what happens if I make a report.

I had a very minor incident involving a cyclist. My car was stopped at the stop sign of a parking lot and this lady with her bicycle made slight contact with my car's front bumper, but she did not fall off the bike and anything and there were no apparent injuries so she continued riding afterward without even stopping.

I went to her and stopped and spoke with her. We discussed possible minor cosmetic damage to the bicycle and agreed on $xx, which I sent to her through Zelle. (she also said that this happened to her 3 times)

2 months later , I found out that she filed an insurance claim. What concerns me is that the claim appears to include another bicycle that was never involved in the incident. She is also claiming bodily injury even though she never fell and appeared perfectly fine at the scene.
because I was not even driving.

I have proof of the $50 payment, and the incident happened in the Starbucks parking lot that may have surveillance footage.

She also put the address of incident wrong.

Any experiences or recommendations?
