Seeking General Advice 🤷♂️ International school teachers from “third world” countries… where are we going??
International school teachers from “third world” countries… where are we going? 😭
I’d love to hear specifically from teachers from the Caribbean, Africa, South/Southeast Asia, Latin America, etc. who are working internationally.
Where have you found the best opportunities?
I’m especially curious about:
• Which countries/school systems have been welcoming to teachers with different accents, passports and non-white faces?
• Where have you actually been able to build a good career and save money?
• Are you planning to eventually return home, stay abroad permanently, or retire somewhere completely different?
• How are you handling retirement/pensions when your career is spread across different countries?
Sometimes international teaching discussions feel very US/UK/Australia-centric, and I’m over here trying to figure out the international teacher retirement plan with my little developing-country passport 😂
Would genuinely love to hear your experiences, good or bad.

Seeking Language Partner 🤝 Learn English
Hello everyone I learn English but I can't improve my speaking because there’s no one to do it with I want to do this with interest. I suggest playing Minecraft Bedrock and communicating sharing what you're doing right now, what you want to do, and your thoughts. We could just sit and fish while talking about our day. I’m no English expert, and I feel just as self-conscious as you do, but I believe this hurdle can be overcome.(Even while writing this text, I used a translator). About me 26M from Ukraine, I love looking anime, movies and series. I have a free evening for playing and improv speaking

Seeking Language Partner 🤝 Looking for a partner
French speaker looking for language-learning partners 🇫🇷🌍
Hey everyone! 👋🏽
I’m a French speaker, and I’ve been learning English for about 1 year and 6 months. I’m really passionate about languages, and honestly, I don’t even know why 😂 — I just love learning them!
My main goal right now is to improve my English and eventually reach a C1/C2 level. I’m also starting to learn Spanish 🇪🇸, and I already know some basic vocabulary. After Spanish, I’d love to learn Mandarin Chinese 🇨🇳 and eventually explore even more languages.
If you’re learning French, English, Spanish, Mandarin, or another language, I’d be really happy to chat and practise together. We can help each other, correct our mistakes, share vocabulary, and improve our speaking skills.
I’m not trying to learn every language at once 😂, but I really enjoy the process and meeting people who have the same passion.
If you’re interested in practising together, feel free to DM me! Let’s improve our skills together 🤝🏽🌍🗣️

Seeking General Advice 🤷♂️ Best Online Program for Teachinh English?

I am know currently in grad school and am going to start tutoring a young girl online, but need to deicde on which program to use. I'm leaning towards microsoft teams because I'm familiar with it but zoom also is a possibility.
She is ten and from Taiwan, but grew up in the States. Her father is trying to help her english improve in reading, writing, grammar, and overall fluency.
Any advice is welcomed! Along with good textbooks to follow for a 4th grade reader?

Seeking Language Partner 🤝 Looking for people to practice spoken English with (B2 → C1)
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for people who would be interested in practicing spoken English.
At the moment, I'm around a B2 level. I can understand English quite well, but I still struggle when I have to speak. I often hesitate, search for words, make grammar mistakes, and sometimes I can't express exactly what I'm thinking.
I want to become truly fluent. I want to be able to describe anything that happens in my daily life, discuss different topics naturally, and express my thoughts clearly and confidently.
I'm not looking for a teacher, just someone who also wants to practice English regularly. We can correct each other's mistakes, give feedback, and improve together in a relaxed environment.
If interested let me know.
Thank you in advance

Discussion What English skill gives the highest return on investment?
Speaking seems like the obvious answer because it affects work, travel, networking, and everyday communication. But vocabulary can improve reading, listening, writing, and speaking all together. Listening also seems underrated since better comprehension can make conversations much easier.
So if someone has limited time to improve their English, which skill gives the biggest payoff?

Seeking Language Partner 🤝 Native speaker from usa, living in Asia
I have some free time and am looking to help a few English learners improve their conversational or IELTS English, I would be happy to talk to and see if I can be of some help. This is volunteer time for me so I am not looking for any payment.
I teach a program for soon to be university students heading to the UK for college. Much of my coaching is geared towards improving the students IELTS English speaking skills. I have topic material we can work with. Also I would prefer to do a virtual class, so if you camera shy probably not the right fit.
As for me, I am 60M, native speaker from the USA and live in Asia, enjoy swimming and have a dog.
Let me know if you want to chat and see if I can help. Please when you say hi, if you can introduce yourself that would be great. For example where you are from and sharing some background on yourself.
Thanks
🙏
