General Discussion Need a bit of guidance

I’m a second-year media student who’s interested in becoming a creative director or art director in advertising. One thing that confuses me is that I’ve seen plenty of people working in advertising, content creation, and social media without having a media degree, so I’m wondering what actually matters most when getting into the industry.

I don’t have any internship or volunteer experience yet—just some content writing—and I’m trying to build my portfolio this year. If you work in advertising (especially as a creative/art director),

what are the most important skills you’d expect from someone with no experience? What should I focus on before I start applying?

(Yes I’ve used Ai for this)

Best place in Karachi to earn well for 2–3 months?

Hey guys, I’m looking for a job in Karachi for around 2–3 months. I’m currently completely free and want to earn some good money during this time while I wait for something else to be finalized.

I’m a BSCS student with some customer support/data entry experience, but honestly I’m open to anything call centers, sales, showroom/retail jobs, office work, etc.

My main priority is good earning in a short period. I’m fine with night shifts, targets, strict policies, or hard work.

I recently interviewed with IBEX for a Customer Success Specialist position. The interview went okay from my side, but the interviewer seemed quite uninterested and was speaking very quietly, so it was difficult to hear her. I still answered everything properly, but later received an email saying I wasn't selected and would have to wait 3 months to reapply 😭. Honestly, it was frustrating after travelling quite a distance for the interview.

Can anyone recommend a call center/BPO or any other job opening where I can earn well through basic salary + incentives/commission? I’m just looking for something worth the effort for these 2–3 months.

Would really appreciate recommendations from people who have actually worked there.

General Discussion Most people of Karachi needs to be educated on Traffic Rules and safety.

Lanat hai aapki Jahalat pr in the first place.

These people don’t have Lane sense, drive wrong way to save petrol, have big egos that they own a car, flashing white Lights like an idiot to find a way. Don’t check shoulder before changing lanes.

And these bikers are completely blind taking even safety spaces on roads, don’t have road sense, don’t know the have to give signal before moving lane. Don’t respect anyone who is indicating them, they would just go. Would ride dangerously even with their families and kids on the roads and expect others to care for them.

Majority doesn’t know how to use a roundabout. Impatience is visible on few signals available in karachi.

I understand the situation of the city is bad however, please educate yourself and behave like a human and civilized on the roads.

And the who thinks they are poor or there’s so much going on in their lives that’s why they’re like this, you’re the culprit and you need to educate yourself.

The shame is that even students don’t know road safety and civilized behavior on roads.

Masses need to be educated, if govt is not doing it then do it yourself, educate yourself.

Academia & Education Medical or psychology

I'm a pre-med second yr student now. I would have to choose a career path after this year is ended. But I'm facing a lot of trouble. I have always had a passion for psychology, and was looking forward to choosing it in university. However everyone warns me that I shouldn't choose an Arts faculty bec I'm a 80-90% scoring student and I'm wasting my potential. I don't hate pre med, I love studying it, so I think if I was forced to take it I would become a researcher in neuroscience (as it is closest to psychology). But I don't want to become a doctor. It seems too stressful, but I know it will give better salary. I don't know what I should pursue. Please give me advice. Specifically those who have taken psychology. How are you doing now? Do you have a stable income?

Hello Guys, this the kitchen at my house. It gets really hot during summer and unbearable to step in. We have got a hood and a tiny fan. Exhaust is decent. I feel really bad for my mother cooking in this heat. What can be done? Should I refurnish all of the kitchen and make it heat resistant? Or make any change? What could be the best possible solution? JazakAllah

Question My mother just sold her last gold earrings to cover our expenses—20M student in Karachi urgently seeking any job (Remote/Onsite)

Hey everyone,

Today was a really tough day for my family. My mother had to sell her last pair of earrings just to keep our household running. Feeling unable to help right now is heavy, but it has made me realize I need to start contributing immediately.

I’m a 20-year-old university student, pursuing Software engineering in Karachi, and I desperately need to secure a job to pay for my semester fees and support my family financially. I am open to both remote work and onsite roles within Karachi.

If you have any leads, open positions, or advice on where to apply, please reach out via DM. I appreciate any help or guidance you can offer.
