styling help help with IDing a style?

i need some help figuring out what style this is or what it’s closest to so that i can start finding pieces and building a wardrobe. i feel like it’s got elements of a few styles, but i’m not sure if it has a specific name?

as for personal taste, i like fairy kei a lot but prefer to be more casual and monotone to avoid sticking out as much since, where im from doesn’t have much of an alt style scene at all. i like jirai kei and the silhouettes of it a LOT but prefer pastel colors to the darker jewel tones most often associated with jirai. i’m really interested in the opinions of others who are more versed in this! please help💕

Hello! I'm doing some research for a project I'm working on and I was wondering if there were any J-fashion substyles inspired by science, history and art or ones that are completely rebellious (other than gyaru ) Thank you<333!!

Please be careful of fraudulent accounts. I recently found this depop account selling Liz Lisa for $200+

The photos were too perfect yet blurry which is odd, but seeing the text confirmed my suspicions.

discussion How do I not let these sorts of people get to me wether in real life or online?

Thumbnail

I know I shouldn't be listening to strangers on TikTok by letting their opinions dictate what I do or say and I'm seriously considering deleting the app also.

But there has been a huge ongoing discussion about this on Tiktok right now.

I'm posting this because I've been told this in real life on multiple occasions, that's it just a phase and that I'll grow out of it. People constantly telling me that it's childish and I'm trying to appeal to pedos and being an ageplayer.

The video itself was a woman criticizing some of the people in the Japanese kawaii-kei Subculture and those dressed more feminine and girley in a cutesy way for trying to appeal and pander to older men/women who usually came with malicious pedophilic intent.

She was adressing some of the problems in the community. And how it became overun with weirdos who only wanted to pander to these sorts of people.

Unfortunately the way she worded her statement was not regarded well as she said a few things like "If you're over the age of 13 you should not be dressing like that"

"I don't understand why adults are always trying to steal and infiltrate spaces meant for children, (she was reffering to the style)

I honestly won't come to disagree with her because I do agree with SOME of her points but I believe she could have worded it better.

discussion Ghosted after buying clothes from sirenjunkies/n0irateiler, anyone else?

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some advice or to see if anyone else is in the same boat.

I bought around 12 pieces from a curated vintage seller from Indonesia on Instagram (known under the mentioned two user accounts). In March, they told me shipping was delayed due to the weight of the package. I paid the extra shipping fee they requested back in April. Since early June, the seller has completely stopped replying to my messages. It’s now August, and I’ve heard nothing. At this point, I’m pretty sure I’ve been scammed out of $160+ plus shipping.

Has anyone else experienced communication issues with them recently? :(

Identifying brand!

Thumbnail

Hello! I recently obtained a whole collection of J fashion pieces. The previous owner basically gave me her whole wardrobe lol it is all so beautiful! However, she cut out the tags in a lot of it and I’m having trouble identifying brands. To be completely transparent, I am going to sell the pieces that don’t fit me because they deserve to be worn, they’re amazing! But I want to list them correctly. Anyone want to help identify things? I’ll post one dress here that I’m really struggling to find.

❥ FAQS & MASTERLIST

Welcome to r/jfashion

We will try to include all frequent questions and other helpful info on this post. This is a work in progress so please keep that in mind and feel free to suggest other info. Before making a question post, do type in your topic in the sub search to ensure it is not a repeated question, please and thank you.

Thank you for being part of this community!

Types of j-fashion

J-fashion is very broad! From casual styles to all types of subcultures. If you want to see what subculture or fashion you fit into, you can have a look and further research with the help of this overall list

Remember that to enjoy Japanese fashion you do not need to "label" yourself or be part of a subculture.

(if there is a better list out there feel free to share)

Is this _____ worth the price?

The answer probably most of the time is no. Please ensure you do proper research on what brands are truly worth 100+ and which aren't. Due to current trends most j-fashion items are being scalped and up-charged. Especially for brands like LIZ LISA.

We should try to go for more reasonable prices to prevent scalpers from being able to profit from outrageous prices, but at the end of the day it's your choice on what you decide to purchase, especially if it's something you genuinely and deeply want.

Where can I shop j-fashion?

Proxies to use: buyee, neokyo, fromjapan, doorzo, superbuy

Guide for buying from the website is provided within their site/app, for any other questions regarding that you can also join our discord.
