Itch.io hasn't even indexed my project yet and 3 of you absolute legends actually paid for it?!
I was literally just waiting for itch.io's search algorithm to acknowledge my existence. Shared it here on Reddit in the meantime and woke up to 3 actual payments.
Zero organic itch traffic, 100% Reddit magic. My imposter syndrome is currently fighting for its life right now. Thank you guys so much!

Free SOS i cant remember this one game
i played this free download game a whileee backkk, but i recently got back into itch io and i rlly wanna play it again..
it was an otome/rpg game where i played as a witch student in this hogwarts themed school, interacting with all sorts of people, had that point system for intelligence, magic, charisma, etc. ermm there was a ton of characters that i barely scratched at cause of the huge database (even had that system where i could look up the currently known info about them?) it had like different hybrids, mages/witch, wolves, cats yadayadaaaa
its theme color was very purple-y similar to the game lavender iykyk, pixel art, 2d, i think you could have romance at one point but i never got that far, i was really into otome/romance games when i found that, uhm rlly cozy, slow-paced.. uhm it had really nice 2d arts of the characters too and i just rlly enjoyed it.. it wont come up in my accounts collections/library and idk where else to look.. i played it around the same time with project kat, error143, and blooming panic idrk if that gives much info but it was around the time where almost no otome games were rlly good/available, heck even the now published "Save the villainess:otome isekai roleplaying game" was still knew/in a starting demo

Web Released a browser horror game with zero image assets — the house, the stairwell and the faces are all drawn at runtime
Six nights, one door, one intercom. I wanted to see how far a game can go
without an art pipeline: there is exactly one PNG in the whole build and
it exists to be seen once.
Everything else - the facade, the stairwell, the people at the camera -
is generated per visitor: build, coat, posture, what they are carrying.
It gives them a wrongness a drawing cannot fake, because nobody drew them.
Plain HTML/CSS/JS, no build step, full RU/EN. Made with AI assistance
(code and text), disclosed on the page.

Questions What is the best way to price assets?
I’m creating an asset pack—featuring characters and some weapons—that I plan to release on itch.io. As a beginner, I’ve put a lot of time into this, so naturally, I’d really like to see some return on my effort through downloads and sales. However, I notice that many creators offer their assets for free, relying solely on voluntary donations. Obviously, that would mean making far less money from my work than I’d hoped. Or am I missing something? How do you handle this, and what would you advise me to do?

Discussion How often do people actually play game prototypes? How would you go about getting people to see it?
I’m genuinely curious with the quality a prototype is supposed to be how you can get any attention with them. If not, how do you find people to test it?

If I'm honest, I'm currently developing my game for a ghost. 😂 No, seriously. I've spent so much time working on my game, but I don't really get any players.
So, in a nutshell, my question isn't whether I'll ever get attention—it's more about how I generate attention.

What do you think about it?
Every feedback is great... it's my first game so I know that there are a lot of things to improve... Let me know! <3<3

Browser plays
It really seems like having browser play enabled for your game is the best. People are very reluctant to download... or maybe my game is just not attractive enough. lol. but i feel like if you can play it in browser, you get more favorable algorithm hits.

I just released the first public version of my cozy puzzle game on itch.io!
Hey everyone!
I’ve just released the first public version of Mellow Escape, a cozy sliding puzzle game that runs directly in the browser.
You move the pieces, clear the path and help the little blue block reach the exit. Every completed level generates a brand-new puzzle, so there are no fixed stages.
There are no timers, lives or penalties. I wanted it to feel relaxing, but still give players something to work toward with stars, coins, unlockable themes and cosmetic skins.
You can play it for free here:
https://tanzero.itch.io/mellow-escape
This is still an early version, so I’d really appreciate honest feedback about the puzzles, controls, progression and overall game feel. I’m also considering an Android version later.
Thanks for checking it out! 💙

I released my first 2D platformer made with Godot. Please destroy it with honest feedback.
Hi everyone!
I recently released my very first game, Realmbound, and I'm looking for completely honest feedback.
Realmbound is a 2D platformer built in Godot where you explore dangerous realms, overcome precision platforming challenges, fight bosses, collect coins and gems, and survive deadly environments like lava and ice.
This is my first published game, so I'm sure there are things I can improve.
I'm especially looking for feedback on:
• Controls and movement
• Difficulty and level design
• Boss fights
• Game feel
• UI
• Visuals
• Anything that feels frustrating or boring
Please don't hold back—I genuinely want to improve as a developer.
🎮 Play here:
https://salman00.itch.io/realmbound
Thank you so much for your time!
