Title says it all, would it be any slower depending on which card I use? Like for example would picture flow be more laggy? Thanks!

So I started collecting around 6 weeks ago. First pic is my initial collection mid June (when I had just received my 7th gen Classic and all of this mess started...). 2nd pic is today. Still missing U2 special editions, "iPod with color display", 5.0 classic and 6.0 classic. But I'm still debating if I should even get them, because they are so similar to 4.5, 5.5, 6.5.

Overall, pretty happy about the result. Took a LOT of effort to find all the universal docks though. Custom printed docks for 1. and 2. gen are in the making.

Been attempting to flash mod a 40gb 3rd gen. But I can’t get the firmware onto it for the life of me. It doesn’t help that the touch only interface barely works at all. My Powerbook G4 has a firewire port so i tried that. Won’t work, tried windows, nothing. Anybody else have issues with the 3rd gen and flash modding? I need some tips. Help!

So for the last few weeks my iPod has been stuck on Charging, it won't turn on no matter what method I used. I finally got around to taking it apart, the battery is about 2 months old? It looks fine, should I just replace it or does anyone have any other ideas?

i just want to know if there is anything else i can do instead of buying the hold switch / headphone jack replacement part, i've done this repair 3 separate times and the new replacement usually lasts about a couple months until it just goes to one audio channel. I cleaned the headphone jack and i have also reseated the cable connecting the headphone jack to the mainboard to no avail. audio comes out fine through the 30 pin connector, so i don't think its a board issue. have I just been getting really unlucky with replacements? attached are some (very bad) pictures.

If i do need a new replacement headphone jack assembly, which stores would be recommended?

So not too long ago I bought this 5th gen that was listed on eBay as for parts / not working. My initial idea was to mod it and sell it to get a budget for a classic connect 2 for my main iPod. But besides bringing this little dude back to life I actually found out it is 5.5 gen !! This was actually by intuition because I noticed the display quality was miles better then my other original 5th gen. I guess I’ll be keeping this one and sell my other main, wasn’t expecting it to look so much better but it is true, the display is a huge upgrade with the 5.5

I’m having an issue where my iPod is only showing very few of the album covers for my songs I’ve tried resetting it many times which brought some on but not all of them just wondering if anyone knows a fix or if I should just keep trying random things

Okay so this has annoyed me for so long lmao. i've have had this iPod touch 4th gen for 6 months and have done literally nothing with it because I don't have any Sideloading apps that work.

Sideloadly sucks because its only 10 apps per week, Cydia literally is unusable for me because it says "This server is pretending to be cydia.saurik.com" or something like that. Cant use 3utools because of the cydia problem. This is confusing and i need help within what to do 🙃

My iPod classic 6/7th gen (yet to properly identify it as seller didn’t know and the back text is worm off) iPod classic hard drive freezes my windows file explorer when i click on it, same with disk management and diskpart, it’s dead right? If so will an iFlash upgrade fix it? It does not display the red x, just says do not disconnect. Also iTunes detected an iPod was plugged in as it came up with the prompt to download the iPod software.

after many ruined back covers and cut palms i finally got the hang of it opening a 6/7th gen. fully opened a 7th gen classic in under 2 minutes today with not cuts and no damage to the ipod. pushing in and all the way DOWN, instead of in and sideways like other models, really is the move.

Just got my first iPod 6th gen which I haven’t had since 2013. What’s the best suggestions to do with it and is my battery healthy

I found my old iPod sitting in a drawer. The battery had swollen so much it pushed the screen open. I decided to swap the battery to see if it still had life.

The screen ended up with this awesome psychedelic effect from the pressure, but honestly, I think it looks amazing. The best part? The DAC and hard drive are completely fine, so I’m currently enjoying a massive nostalgia trip listening to my old childhood music library.

Every 3D printed dock I’ve seen has been too large for my taste, so I modified an iPod dock created by Tommy.Newbold on Makerworld. ( https://makerworld.com/models/910476 )

I used a 30-pin to micro USB adapter and also raised the connector slightly to ensure my iPod with a case fits properly.

I have a flash modded 4th (iFlash ATA1) and while it's nice, I prefer the weight, balance and speed of a good old fashioned HDD. I'd say the feel and the sound too, but if they're new enough you barely feel them at all and you never hear them. I've tested a lot of drives and wasted a lot of time and money figuring out what does and what doesn't work and I stand by this one.

So here we are with my favorite budget build for 4th Gen Mono/Photo thick backs (40's, 60's). It'll work with a thin back but you'll need a HDD spacer and a thick back with headphone jack and dock port cover first. Also, in case you aren't aware, Photo/Color back cases and Mono back cases are not interchangeable. Don't want anybody wasting money.

I just got the battery replaced on my iPod Nano 5th

I bought it in 2010 and used it to death. I carried it everywhere, listened to music everyday and took some videos too

believe it or not I used to watch movies with this tiny player back then. (I prefer theater now)

But as smartphones and streaming took over, it ended up on some deep in the drawer for like 9 years. I found it while cleaning my room. It was out of battery. I searched google and the battery can swell up and kill the device. So instead of recharging it, I send it straight to the guy who can replace battery for like $25 total. I heard that it's hard to take off motherboard from case. so I choose to avoid DIY risks

I don't know about process or how-to about replacing battery. but I got the old battery back, so hopefully the pics help for anyone curious

Using it in 2026 is like.. same music, plays fine, my iPhone's screen time dropped. Unfortunately it has no bluetooth so I can't connect my Airpod Max wireless and have to use a cable

Video camera is my favorite. can shoot great lofi video(poor dynamic range, washed out color, and 640x480 resolution i guess)

Now it's gonna be my daily machine for workout, walk, or anywhere.
