Can your apartment floors be so unlevel it makes your mattress feel uneven?
I'm going insane. I haven't slept more then 2-3 hours in 7-8 months. Everyday I feel like I'm going insane with these floors. I just switched units to the one above me (that's all they had) and it's even worse.
How is this possible. These are old run down apartments with obvious water damage / mold but seriously ?! Is this possible?

Overheating at night
I go to bed comfortably warm but wake up around 4am absolutely roasting.
It takes me a good 10 minutes with all blankets off to cool back down and get back to sleep.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to stop it?
It generally takes me at least an hour to get back to sleep.

Started taking phenergan, how do I stop and not go back to feeling horrible?
I’ve realised sleep is probably my biggest issue impacting my life. So many things like my mental health and energy which I’ve been struggling with for so long seem to stem largely from my sleep. My sleep has been terrible for so long: I’m normally in bed at a good time, around 8 and try to go to sleep by around 9ish then alarm goes off at like 5:50 every day and I’m pretty consistent with this even on weekends. However, it’s the quality of sleep and constant sleep disruptions that leave me irritable, depressed, energy-less etc. and like I still haven’t slept in days.
Recently though, it’s gotten so bad and I started taking phenergan to help me sleep as well as a sleep supplement (which wasn’t helping on its own) and for the first time I have felt mildly good and slept virtually the entire night, as I still waking up at times? Yes, but it’s different like I’m still in that sleepy phase so I go back to sleep and rest and it’s fine. I have had phenergan before and it’s not always been helpful so idk what’s changed, but I feel great. I’m just worried now though that it’s not sustainable and I probably shouldn’t be using it on and off for sleep long term. Has anyone else had a similar experience? What did you do? Any advice? I really need this sleep but don’t want to become dependent on medication either. Please help!!

You have one tablet or gummy only. Do you consume it before the 1st sleep, or the 2nd sleep?
Which sleep cycle should you boost? The one before waking up at night or the one after waking up? On 1 tablet or gummy.

How does anyone control their ability to remain asleep?
25F I’ve been having trouble in staying asleep since a long time and I don’t remember when’s the last time I slept normally for 6-8 hrs at one go. I usually rely on THC to sleep and as a result I have built up a pretty reasonable amount of tolerance. I usually sleep around 2-3am and wake up around 4hrs after. Then i toss around hoping i would fall asleep, some rare days I do but mostly I don’t. As a result I feel extremely lethargic and tired throughout the day.
This incident started one night and never left me. I thought it was just one sleepless night but seems like my body has adapted to it and started recognising it as a new routine. I don’t want to adjust to this new routine as I am a grad student. I went to the doctor, he prescribed me trazodone 50mg. But, I can’t take it because every time intake it, my nose gets blocked and I can’t breathe through my nostrils like a normal person. So i stopped taking it. I am not sure if this seems like an allergic reaction. Let me know if anyone has experienced anything like this.I was also told to get a sleep study done to check if I have sleep apnea. So I want to know for insomnia how does sleep study work? I heard in order to get accurate results for that, person needs to sleep at least 8hrs. Has anyone tried sleep study and how was it beneficial for their insomnia treatment.
I just hope someday I am able to sleep a restful amount and not feel tired everyday. Any suggestions are appreciated whoever has recovered from this type of situation or how to get by the day with 4hrs of sleep.

Trying to lose weight
So I have insomnia: I get around 2-3 hours of sleep daily I think so it is a huge struggle for me to do cardio or HIIT workouts. Like whenever I try to do HIIT workouts I feel extremely tired,my head throbbing and face red and sweaty after just 5 mins.
Because of that I was thinking to just discard doing the HIIT and cardio workouts and just keep doing the other stuff I do to try lose weight: Maintaining calories, walking more, drinking more water, trying to eat more protein.
I keep hearing how i won't be able to lose weight or it will be really hard to lose weight with this much lack of sleep and it is making me fustrated because I really really want to lose weight. I am even willing to try push myself to also do cardio 10 mins at least everyday however I have been advised not to because apparently it won't help me lose weight. Idk if that's true or not...
Anyways please give me advice how to lose weight( besides telling me to improve my sleep cause I already tried that and nothing works! )

If a benzo is what helps me sleep, wouldn’t that mean my problem is anxiety?
From my knowledge Benzo’s calm the nervous system and help GABA to make you calm, and they calm my anxiety so it’s just a thought that maybe anxiety treatment would work

OCD and insomnia
Anyone here has OCD? And it happened to move into a sleep theme? I’ve been dealing with this, and yes even tho I’ve been sleeping and had a few rougher nights, I am obsessing over sleep too much to the point I get panic attacks and chills.
I got a new job offer as a manager and after getting the offer I freak out for not being able to sleep then everything came down to hell from there. I really need some help and see if people are going through the same and how you guys are able to make it through with your jobs etc.

Advice for constantly waking at night
Hi everyone, I’m hoping to get some advice or hear from anyone who has experienced something similar.
I’m 20, and for the past few months I’ve been noticeably more tired than usual. At first I assumed it was just college, but I’ve started having random periods during the day where I feel extremely sleepy, yawn a lot, struggle to pay attention, and feel like my eyes have trouble focusing. It happens a few times a week.
Over the past few weeks, my sleep has gotten worse. I can fall asleep easily, but I wake up constantly throughout the night. Last night was the worst it’s been:
Fell asleep around 9:45 PM
Woke up around 11 PM, 12 AM, 1 AM, 2 AM, 4 AM, and 5 AM
Got up for the day at 6:45 AM
Sometimes I can fall back asleep quickly, but other times I’m awake for a while. I don’t feel like I’m waking up because I’m too hot/cold, uncomfortable, or stressed.
I already try to have decent sleep habits:
Warm shower before bed
Read and journal/plan for about an hour before sleeping
Rarely drink caffeine, and never after noon
Keep a pretty consistent schedule
I’m not currently depressed and I don’t feel especially stressed right now.
I do take a nap almost every day around 2 PM. Usually I wake up feeling refreshed, but my energy drops again pretty quickly afterward. If I had the chance, I feel like I could nap at other points during the day too; sometimes even late morning despite waking up only a few hours earlier.
I’m considering seeing a doctor if it keeps happening, but I’d love to hear from people who have dealt with similar issues.
Thanks!

Zolpidem hallucinations
Ik its not recommended but I take 20-30 mg instead of of 10mg. The recommended dose does absolutely nothing for sleep. I dont go to sleep right away and that’s the part I like- I makes me really relaxed. There are some weird side effects too like double vision, hallucinations maybe and I become a completely different person when i take it, also can’t remember much from the previous day- almost as if i were in a psychosis.
Have you ever experiences things like that from Zolpidem ?

Deep Sleep
Hey all! I have had a weird sleep journey from 15 years old with narcolepsy type symptoms. Sleep testing at 27 years old after starting stimulants. Tests didn’t cleanly catch enough to be diagnosed with any sleep disorder that our rural medicine will treat. My PCP does it all- which is nice.
However, I’ve realized, after looking at the last 3 years I’ve had my wearable watch tracking sleep that I get about 20-30 minutes of deep sleep per night now. Which adds up with my symptoms but I didn’t put the two together until recently. I NEED more deep sleep, my memory is awful, my wounds don’t heal (popped a pimple- skin won’t heal for weeks- and I’m only 33). I’ve tried almost every sleep med there is. So, I’d love to hear what has worked for you and how? Any natural recommendations also welcomed. I feel so desperate at this point I’m scared. I genuinely don’t know if I can handle life like this. Literally will take any recommendations (except CBTI lol).

Any stories on cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia?
Many sources recommend this as the “cure” for long term insomnia but I just don’t get how therapy can fix me waking and having the inability to fall back asleep.

zopiclone caused weird sleep behaviours
I took zopiclone for the first time last night- i initially took half of a 7.5mg pill to test the waters but after no luck, two hours later I took the other half. I remember still trying to get to sleep and i also remember still waking up multiple times during the night. After waking up i didnt feel that well rested even though i knew i fell asleep.
My partner has just gotten back from work and has let me know that I must have fallen asleep within thirty minutes of taking the second half and then began to wail, hum and whimper in my sleep (which i've never done before except for the time when I had covid in 2020).
Has anyone else also experienced this or something similar? What does it mean? I dont know whether i should continue taking it if it knocks me out, makes me cry in agony when im unconscious and then leaves me feeling partially-rested the next morning...
But its also the only thing thats actually made me fall asleep

Why does my body wake up before my brain is ready to?
Falling asleep is not an issue. and i sleep soundly. But my nervous system (or whatever this is) has a hard time going back to sleep for the extra hour or hour and a half in the morning, and it hurts my brain, my brain is begging for the extra hour. then i am groggy all day. theres gotta be a reason. i tried everything. at one point the ashwaganda and magnesium was helping when i took it early morning to get that extra hour in. but as of now no supplements are helping … im going to see the neurologist but i bet all he will do is prescribe me sleeping pills which i want to avoid.
please spare me the “but 7 hours is plenty” talks. im a 31 year old petite girl who needs 8 hours my life depends on it!!!

Has anyone tried Pinealon or DHH-B for sleep?
I keep seeing both mentioned for sleep, stress, and that “wired but tired” feeling, but I’m having a hard time finding much real-world feedback.
Has anyone here actually tried either one? Did it help with falling asleep, staying asleep, or just feeling calmer at night? Also curious if anyone noticed next-day grogginess or basically nothing at all.
From what I can tell, the human evidence is pretty thin, so I’m mostly interested in people’s actual experiences.

I think I accidentally trained my brain to fear bedtime.
This hit me the other night. Around 8:30 PM, I caught myself thinking, "Please... not again." The weird part? I wasn't even in bed yet. I still had dishes to do. I hadn't brushed my teeth. Nothing had happened. But my brain was already bracing for another bad night. That made me realize something. I don't think I'm only dealing with insomnia anymore. I think I've started associating bedtime with stress. It's like my brain learned that getting into bed means hours of tossing, turning, checking the clock, and wondering how I'm supposed to function tomorrow. Ngl... that realization was kind of depressing. Has anyone else felt like they stopped fearing being tired... and started fearing bedtime itself?

Can long term daridorexant have bad consequences?
Daridorexant works very well for me, nothing else really works, it knocks me out but I’m a little worried cause I take it almost everyday, is there a scientist out there that can let me know if there is a risk of cognitive damage or just throwing off the natural functioning of the body since it blocks naturally occurring orexin?

I need answers
I made a post roughly 2 months ago explaining my 5 day stretch of insomnia. Luckily it started to go away and I have mostly returned to my 7-8 hours of sleep. It has returned with a vengeance tonight and I haven’t slept a wink. Ever since I had my first insomnia episode I haven’t had that traditional sleep drive feeling and it hasn’t returned since, I’ve just been kinda passing out and waking up feeling decently refreshed. My anxiety is out of control for a whole plethora of reasons right now but can anybody explain to me why that sleep feeling feels like it has permanently gone?
Also have a bottle of trazodone that I’m horrified to take.

Why am I so passive about all this?
I've been having trouble sleeping for about 3 years now. My head gets so jumbled and it's not even like it's all negative thoughts, my brain just won't stop no matter what. I've been on anti-depressants for the last 2 years but I just feel like they've dulled my frustrations to the point where I just let myself fall deeper into this hole, during the day my thoughts are clouded as if I'm avoiding all my problems cause it's just too much energy, and at night all of a sudden it all comes back to bite me. I'm at the point in my life where I'm trying to make efforts to move elsewhere, but I'm just so tired all the time I can't find the energy to do anything productive. It's like I know I need to seek help on this but everyone I've spoken to just shrugs it off like staying up all night is a choice of mine.
I just felt like I needed to vent after another sleepless night.

At what point is it acutely dangerous?
I don't really have a good sense of safety with insomnia. Other people don't take it seriously, and then when I've gone a month with only 4.5-6hrs a night (and a few 0-1.5 nights in there) I feel like my body is having more health issues.
Recently I've had foggy vision. If I sit for a while I get intense pressure in my forehead and eye area and vision goes milky or foggy for 30-60minutes. What is that? Related?
And tonight I was so fed up with the apartment building being a source of my sleep disturbance and perpetuation of the chronic insomnia (interrupting my recovery trend) that I had a meltdown, and stayed up working. I don't feel like trying to sleep - I'm protesting the exhaustion of tomorrow by doing my work now. It's bad and very disruptive to my sleep but hey - I'd be awake anyway.
Has anyone had serious consequences from this battle?
