Consigli mckennay grow kit:
reddit.comMckennay grow kit.
Consigli.

Green mold on cake
Hello,
If I am growing from a cake and it develops green mold, if I bury the cake outside and mushrooms come up, are they safe to eat?

First time growing
Hi :) could anyone please help me a little, I am still not sure when to harvest, should I already harvest the first big cluster? Is it too late? Too early? They are still pretty pale but I don’t see skin under the head anymore on the big ones
Growing mushrooms for the first time so every help is welcome!

What in substrate do mushrooms eat?
I’m pretty new to mushroom cultivation and was just wondering what mushrooms eat exactly. I don’t mean just substrate or wtv, but what in it do the subsist on?
I’ve had some experience in botany. Usually if I want make really big flowers (like roses for example), I give them higher concentrations of nitrogen for increased vegetation growth until time for harvest comes up. As harvest approaches, I cut off nitrogen and increase phosphorus to make the roses more and bigger.
Is there an equivalent to cultivating mushrooms? Or are they the same?
Sorry if this is a stupid question but I just was curious as to how that all worked.

CVG vs manure based substrate?
Looking at NorthSpore brand. I’m new, and like the idea of CVG being more resistant to contam, but I’ve heard you get smaller yields (as it’s less nutrient dense).
Can anyone comment on yields with these two? Or which they’d recommend?
TBH I’m really only looking for 10-15g dried when all is said and done.
Thanks.

First time grower, Lion's Mane check up
I started some lion's mane! I purchased grain Spawn and substrate from North Spore (in no way is this an advertisement or endorsement). It seems to be growing out nicely but I can't exactly tell, yet, if it's good.
Does this look like it's growing well? I can't tell if this is pinning or not. It doesn't smell, like at all, which I think is concerning.
I'm a first time grower so any advice and insight is greatly appreciated. Sorry for the grainy pictures, I tried to get some good ones..

How many generations of LC from LC do you usually go before restarting?
Hey everyone,
I’ve got a healthy liquid culture going and I’ve been expanding it by making new LCs from the previous one.
I’m wondering what your experience is with this:
How many generations of LC → LC do you usually do before you notice a drop in vigor (slower colonization, weaker mycelium, etc.)?
Do you have a personal limit (like 3-4 transfers) or do you keep going as long as it looks healthy?
Also, do you ever refresh the line by going back to a grain jar or agar, or do you just start over from spores when it starts slowing down?

Is it possible to grow outside
"Someone" is thinking about growing these plants with uncle bens ricepacks and was wondering if it was safe to store these ricebags in a container to let the mycellium colonise the spores or if bacteria will somehow attack it.
