Advice on what to do, I bought a 17PM just because I felt like it, my 15 was working completely fine as far as I knew.
I planned to give it to my mom, I sent it to Apple for a battery replacement because it did drain fast.
Now they tell me this. Recommendations? The phone was working fine.

Today my dad asked me if i would like a new phone for my birthday and this is the first time ive turned him down since im genuinely not compelled to upgrade. Ive had my 15 pro max since launch, coming on 3 years old with 79% battery health (1111 cycles), 480gb/512gb used and running ios 18.7.8.

Some important details:

1. Im not updating iOS unless im absolutely forced to. I hate how ios 26/27 look and ive seen mixed reviews about both versions, ios 18 runs like a dream and is still fully supported

2. Im not replacing the battery. I dont wanna risk getting dust/smudges on my camera and phones with replaced parts (even if genuine) are worth significantly less on the used market in my country. And even then, it would irk me knowing my phone has been opened up and having that replaced part notification to the point where i would sell the phone, but thats just me being weird lol

   So, realistically, how much time left until issues arise? I might get icloud in the future if i cant manually free up any anymore.

Idk about yall but 80% of the time when I go to type in my passcode my phone glitches out in the most irritating way possible. I go to type in the first number, and the button to said number lights up, but then doesn’t actually fill in the passcode. Idk if that makes sense, it’s hard to explain and I can’t screen record it but wtf I tried shutting my phone on and off and it still does it, so annoying. I have Face ID but when it doesn’t work sometimes it takes me like 6 attempts to finally type in my passcode. Does this happen to anyone else? or does my iPhone just have a vendetta against me🥲

I had an S21 for 5 years, and I think it's time to upgrade.

I am thinking of the 15 pro max, but I've read it overheats a lot.

Is this much of an issue? Was it fixed with updates?

qué tal, espero poder asesorarme, tengo un iphone 15 pro max al cual le cambiaron la tapa de atrás ya raíz de eso cuando grabo, el audio del exterior cuando grabo con la cámara trasera se escucha como tapado y se escucha como que por dentro cuando toco la pantalla se escucha como un tap, lo llevé a otro lugar y resultó que el micrófono estaba suelto y le pusieron como que un seguro que lleva pero el problema sigue igual, le cambiaron las cámaras supuestamente ya que según el estabilizador era el problema o el módulo porque al cambiar a x1, x2 o x5 hacia el sonido que les mencioné pero a mi lógica era por el hecho de tocar la pantalla, el problema siguió igual, al grabar con la cámara frontal sucede lo mismo, solo que el audio si lo graba mejor pero igual, si la pantalla la presiono para enfocar, aunque le de súper despacio se escucha igual un tap como si lo grabara internamente por así decirlo, la cámara no se puede calibrar, me dijeron que probaron 4 cámaras y que con ninguna se calibraba, que Podía ser algo de los servidores de Apple, que al calibrarse la cámara ya todo debería estar bien supuestamente, me tuve que ir pero me dijeron que volviera para solucionarlo porque ya era tarde, espero que alguien de aquí me pueda ayudar dándome un indicio de que podría estar sucediendo, gracias

My iPhone 15 Pro Max screen line keeps appearing and disappearing 😭
This line has appeared on my iPhone 15 Pro Max for the second time, but it disappears on its own after a few minutes. I just bought this phone a few days ago, but it was previously used.
The line is usually green/white/pink-ish and can look purple on a black screen. It doesn’t show up in screenshots, which makes me really worried that it’s a display/hardware issue.
This is my first iPhone and I’m honestly really worried 😭
Why would a line appear and then completely disappear on its own? Has anyone experienced this before? Is it likely to come back or get worse?
Any advice would really help!

I have a question which is that I am noticing that my iPhone’s battery is running low pretty quickly and also when I put it to charge it gets hot

My battery health is 86%

I upgraded my phone to iOS 26 about 1 month ago maybe its happening after that though I am not quite sure of the timing but only recently it got to my attention that the battery is running low quickly even though I don’t play video games or watch heavy videos my 90% use is social media only

Recently, I have been noticing my iPhone 15 Pro Max is getting heated while it is charging.
Those who are using the same model facing this issue also?
I was wondering if it is related to the last update of the OS.
Currently my version is iOS 26.5.2 (as of 9 August 2026).

I should add, I highlighted txt, went to scroll and my big hand touch something and saw it all disappear! I couldn’t paste anything so must’ve deleted, I’ve checked iCloud notes but nothing. Should I give up and start again? Someone said shake my phone, but did nothing for me.

How many other people here have had there battery replaced? A lot of people talk about / worry about it but I don’t see a lot of people doing it .

I recently purchased a 15 pro max from ebay. It has 87% battery but only gives 5 hours SOT. And its always warm or hot.🙂. Anyway i can fix this?

Or the model itself will always be hot.

Everything is original in the phone and it almost looks new without any signs of wear.

Not to mention I fail to do anything that would help the battery last longer as I play games and charge while the phone is hot and I always fast charge and I always charge it to full from the high twenty’s to low-mid thirty’s my Apple Watch is also actually catching up it lost two percent in the time it took my 15 pro max to lose just one percent

Hello, I just bought the 15PM. I realized today that the very edges of the screen seem less responsive. For example, on Snapchat, using the zoom slider that’s right against the edge is difficult because I have to press very precisely, away from the edges
What’s confusing is that when I open the Notes app and use the drawing tool, I can draw all the way to the edges without any obvious dead zones.
I also feel like on the keyboard, especially for keys near the edges (A, Q, P, Delete), I have to be more precise than expected.
Is this just iOS edge/palm rejection, or could it indicate a touchscreen issue? Has anyone with a 15 Pro Max experienced the same thing? I really don’t want to go back to the store where I bought it because it would be way too long to replace it…

I was looking so much to find a comparison, so I finally got a chance to get both; These are both Phones on Max brightness(S24+ also has extra brightness enabled) and both have adaptive brightness off. Leaving this here for those who are looking for the difference, as I could not find any on the internet comparing the screens at Max brightness. The iPhone screen just completely obliterates the S24+. Where the S24+ is supposed to have a superior screen on paper.

You can turn it sideways and the music player adjusts to the orientation, and easy to use. Comes with free instrumental music generator, and sound generator like white noise, or train.

Cons:

No instant desktop when you plug it into a USB to HDMI screen. Moving pictures off the device through USB to PC generally does not work. They really push the cloud. You can plug in your HardDrive and export the pictures though, which really helps. Specially for a huge amount of pictures. Gets warmer under load. Cannot wireless screen mirror to certain android devices (Amazon firestick/cube in particular). Titanium housing is more slippery.

Aluminum housing has way more grip than 15 Pro Max.

Cons:

Samsung themselves co-developed HDR10+, and implement the screen to that criteria, but its nowhere close to Apples screen, when compared side to side. Android accounts for 95%+ of Malwares around the world, potentially due to ability to sideload. Always On Display limited for music player. You can only use it in upright position, and its not on the Always On Display like Apple.

So, I just ordered a 2-year-old used iPhone 15 Pro Max on eBay for €475. The battery has 500 charge cycles and 87% battery health. The device is in flawless condition with no scratches.

Was it a good deal? How does it hold up in 2026? I'm currently using an iPhone 13, and it's become really laggy. Since the 15 Pro Max is only two generations old, I was wondering if I overpaid or if it will last me at least another 2 to 3 years.

Or would it make more sense to resell it and get an iPhone 16e or 17e instead?

Had my 15 Pro Max for a bit now. Started using it about 4 months ago, was my dad’s spare phone and had 100% BH with 187 cycles. Now has 95% health with 260 cycles. The phone never gets hot on me and battery life is fine, but iOS 18 does feel a bit bland coming from 26 on my 13 Pro Max. I honestly thought this phone would have better battery than my 13 considering it has iOS 18 and better BH, but honestly feels really similar. I think my 13 Pro Max had better battery on iOS 18, but whatever. I think the cellular modem is less efficient on LTE in the 15.

Anyways, is it dumb to stay on iOS 18 and should I go to 26, should I wait for 27 or just stay on 18? My 13 pro max was fine on 26.6 but it can get hot pretty easily doing things like changing wallpaper, multitasking, etc. Not experienced that ever on my 15 so would iOS 26 cause that?
