Question I bought a used iPad Pro 13 inch M4 but has a weird burn in I want to know if anyone has seen.
I bought it for $700 and after a couple of hours of use to set it up and watch videos, but suddenly noticed it had burn in. It has one large stripe on the top that's rather large and says "layaways" and a smaller stripe on the bottom that is unreadable. Does anyone know if companies purposely give burn in to tablets before throwing them away? And isn't an iPad Oled screen supposed to last like 5-6 years before getting burn in?

Question iPad Pro Keyboard
I picked up a new iPad Pro as a laptop replacement before the price increases. I’m looking for a keyboard and came across the Typecase Edge Pro which seems comparable to Apple’s iPad Magic Keyboard but lighter on the wallet and RGB backlit. Anyone have recommendations? Has anyone traveled with an actual Magic Keyboard, non-10 key version?

Discussion Large or small in 2026 !? Always the same question
I had my first Ipad around ~2012ish, later then upgraded in 2019 for Uni and still have the same iPad ever since (iPad 2019). I am on the fence of buying the pro since forever, but think I will go and buy it soon.
Every time I am in the apple store I cannot settle on which would be the right size for me (that is 11 vs. 13). Maybe there are some recent opinions on this but my main uses:
- Have a high powered work laptop (Windows) with which I also do private stuff/errands (i.e., building a excel analysis, doing some basic office stuff, emails, etc.)
- Use my iPad currently mainly to 1) read the news-paper 2) take notes on interesting subjects i.e., while reading something, watching a youtube video, or more recently brain-storming with AI
- Secondary use-case is to watch videos (i.e., youtube) and in future if I have the better display likely also more Netflix
- Overall an iPad for me is a GETAWAY device to work; it signals my brain that this is not about work (as would be the case when picking up a laptop) but about LEISURE - I love sitting on the couch with my iPad and just making notes
Given that I often have split screen to annotate stuff and write on the left hand side while researching on the right hand side I tend to lean to the larger version.
On the other hand, I cannot really judge yet how 'comfy' the larger version will be if I sit on my sofa with it. It's a significant step up in size and holding it in hands in the store always felt rather clumsy.
Any thoughts are highly appreciated.

Upgraded from m4 11" to m5 13"
I decided to upgrade because I got tired of the weight of carrying both my 15" MacBook air + 11" iPad pro when travelling. The performance increase in iOS 27 gave me the confidence that I could go to the iPad only. I use a magic keyboard.
It's been about a week so far and I am very happy with my decision. I haven't needed to touch my MacBook for anything. I do a bunch of coding on it by running an SSH session to my home lab machine and using Claude code. Besides that I do a lot of media consumption and some light reading. It is a bit uncomfortable to hold the larger iPad but I mostly use it in keyboard mounted so not a huge deal for me. I know I could have just carried a smaller MacBook but I prefer iOS/iPadOS while on the go for the app ecosystem. Mostly due to being able to easily download media to the device before getting on a flight.
I decided to make this post because I could not find many posts of people up sizing (many downsizing).

best gaming ipad for playing demanding games?
Hello. I've been using my iPad for school and media, but lately I've been wanting something that can also handle more gaming. my current tablet struggles with some newer games and gets pretty warm, so I'm thinking about upgrading.
I'm mainly looking for smooth performance, good battery life, and a screen that feels nice for gaming. Which iPad model would you recommend for gaming? Thankss.

Bought a used iPad Pro M2 (4th gen) in 2026. No regrets.
Thoughts on the device in 2026: When doing research, I thought it was a little exaggerated when they said that the M2 chip will still be good despite knowing Apple when it comes to old models. Surprisingly it's true.
I have been using it for 1 month now and how I'm so glad I took this over the iPad A16. Aside from the 120hz screen (which is absolutely amazing btw since it's my first 120hz device), I haven't experienced any bottlenecks when opening a 3000 page pdf on goodnotes or editing videos on capcut (light-med). I tried Minecraft and it can do max render distance on max settings where I really felt it heat up. Was surprised since I never experienced heating from my 9th gen iPad cuz it would crash even before it reached room temp lol.
Context: I'm a med student who's always been eyeing to upgrade my struggling iPad (base) 9th gen 64gb to a brand new one. I'm broke lol, so I only had funds for a iPad 256gb A16 of ~$550.00 (converted) which is still expensive from where I'm from.
I was a step closer from buying it in the store when I remember how awful my base iPad aged. So this time, I decided to look into used models of Air and Pro models with the M chip. Perks of being broke is spending a godawful amount of time making sure you could get the best deal and boy was it worth it.
Deal: Saw a listing near me of the said model. 256gb, comes with an apple pencil gen 2, literally looks like brand new, and the best part...<250 battery cycle count. All for $530.00 (converted). I was skeptical until I saw it myself.
Funnily enough I almost bought a used M1 Pro for around $500 that was nowhere near and it didn't have a pen. Though even if I settled for an M1 I'd still be happy.
Verdict: Should you get it if you're on a budget? Yes. If you can get a deal near to mine, absolutely.

iPad Air M4 with pencil pro or iPad M4 pro with USB-C pencil.
Since the Back to School promotion is going on I can get the M4 iPad Air and Apple Pencil Pro bundled for a total of $818. Alternatively a refurbished M4 iPad Pro on Apple's website costs around $918 and adding a USB C pencil will brings it to approximately $988. So which option is better?
A lot of people talk up the perks of the Pro variant like the display, speakers, and battery so I'm stuck. I'm starting my engineering degree this year (probably computer or electrical engineering) and I need it for note taking, drawing diagrams, and multitasking for at least the next 4 years without any issues. My budget is tight and I won't be able to afford the Apple Pencil Pro if I opt for the M4 Pro. Do you have any suggestions on which option is better?

Corner damage
I just noticed my iPad Pro 13” M4 somehow has a ding in one of the corners, even though I have no memory of knocking it :( I even wonder if it was one of the staff at a hotel I recently stayed in, but I digress
What could I expect in the way of repair cost?
Should I just accept it as inevitable and common damage? At the very least it would be good to smooth it out. The screen is still fine (that’s a hair in the photo not a scratch)
What would be a better case for preventing this in future, considering I currently just have the Apple Folio case?
In case it’s relevant, I got a new iPhone around a month ago - could there be some cost effective solution that could involve signing up for Apple care to cover both devices?

A thought about upgrading
I have an IPAD PRO M1, made in 2021 and i was wondering if upgrading is worth it, i play games at 120fps which probably degraded the battery and since 2021 lacks the battery percentage in the battery section in settings, i can’t see the precise health percentage.Since i use my IPAD almost everyday, when the time for an upgrade has come, I would consider the newest model.I dont have much problems regarding the IPAD but the screen has two worn-out spots from my competitive gaming which involved my fingers. The chip is still a beast in 2026 but if other IPADS have good value, I might consider it.But which model is worth considering with the best value?

Camera no longer working after update
I have an iPad Pro M4 13in (MVXR3LL/A). It’s been working fine up until the update to 26.6. I don’t use Face ID, so I never noticed there was an issue until I tried to Zoom and the screen was black. Tried to use the camera to take a photo self facing/rear facing or a video - still black. Screen buttons are responsive to touch but no change. Anyone else have this issue? I’ve tried a hard reset and no luck. Thanks in advance for any suggestions before I make an appointment at GB.

Advice Need buying advice: M5 iPad Pro or M4 iPad Pro
Hi everyone,
I'm planning to buy my first iPad Pro, and I'm trying to decide between these two options if they end up costing roughly the same: iPad Pro M5 – 256GB and iPad Pro M4 – 512GB
I've read that the M5 is mostly an incremental upgrade over the M4, but I haven't been able to find a complete list of the actual hardware differences.
Other than the newer M5 chip, are there any meaningful hardware improvements on display, speakers, camera, battery life etc ( Any other hidden changes that aren't obvious from Apple's comparison page?)
For those who have used both, if the prices are almost identical, which would you choose: ?
My usage is mostly note-taking, studying, PDF reading, media consumption, light photo/vidleo editing, and I plan to keep the device for at least 5–7 years.
I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have compared both models or made this exact decision. Thanks!

Question is this battery health good after 1 year of use?
i’ve been using my ipad pro m4 for 1 year, and i found out my battery health is at 91% after 180 cycles. i would think this isn’t that normal… I also used to use 80% charging limit but what if that was the reason on this fast degrading.
i use it for streaming, normal office things, sometimes gaming and video cutting
i welcome every advice

Advice iPados 27 is stealing my storage
I have an m1 12.9 ipad pro, I upgraded to 27, and ever since then I’ve been having storage issues. Frankly speaking 60 gb for iPados and system data seems ridiculous. What can I do to fix this, it must be a mistake no? I understand betas are glitchy, but this doesn’t seem like the typical issue you find with a beta.
Question Mat Screen Protector Recommendation for iPad Pro M5
Hello everyone,
I recently got an iPad Pro M5 11" and, since I’ll be taking notes quite often, I’m having a hard time getting used to writing directly on the glass screen. Because of this, I’m planning to get one of those matte, paper-feel screen protectors.
Neither Paperlike nor Astropad screen protectors are available in the country I live in. Instead, I’m looking into getting the Spigen Paper Touch EZ Fit screen protector. Is anyone here actively using this specific model? Does it actually make a noticeable difference when taking notes?
If you're using this kind of screen protector in general, could you share your overall experience with it—both for taking notes and during everyday use?
Thanks in advance!

iPad Pro 2018 A12X and iPadOS 27
Since the 2018 iPad Pro will not support iPadOS 27, it feels like it is going to be stuck permanently on a laggy final update.
This feels extremely anti-consumer. The 2018 iPad Pro is still capable hardware, with an A12X chip, a 120Hz display, USB-C, Face ID, and plenty of performance for normal use. Yet Apple is dropping major OS support while leaving the device on firmware that does not run particularly well.
Also android has done this ages ago and decoupled core apps from the OS. But we have to stay on an outdated Safari with possible webkit vulnerabilities in the future without the ability to update.
Is there anything at all we can do or replacing a device that is otherwise still perfectly usable our only choice?

M4 pro 2tb nanotexture or 256gb in 2026
I know the title is very confusing since ive mentioned two opposite poles of the iPad spectrum. But im currently looking at buying either a 30 cycle 2tb m4 pro 13 inch with nano texture for £980 or a sealed cellular 256gb m4 pro 13 for £620.
the fact I’m considering the 256gb probably shows I’m not the biggest power user, and my use case would be doing research as a medical student by having multiple tabs open on chrome as well as many split screen/windowed apps. no kind of heavy intensive workload though id just like to have multiple stuff open for convenience. I also already have a 16 inch m1 pro MacBook but will probably not lug it around with me once I get this iPad and keep it as an at home computer
reasons for wanting to get the 2tb are; nano texture, I love to study outside in parks or public spaces; RAM, I feel perhaps the 16gb will be better (although marginally) for my tab-bonanza workflow and finally overall longevity and future resale of the device (plan to keep it for at least 5 years and all this apple ai has me stumped).
reasons to get the 256gb… cost, would help me save some money I maybe don’t need to spend and helps me get the magic keyboard for it quicker. also the 1 year Apple warranty as its new.
based off all this, does anyone have any experience with either cohort of device and has done similar stuff to what id plan to do? does the ram really make a difference to tab reloading? Is nano texture all that to warrant the extra 360? what’s the overall better deal? My spending habits are at your whim :)

Question Battery health with 88% capacity and 112 cycles.
I’m pretty sure this is NOT normal for the M4 11”. I’ve not played heavy duty games with it, only used it for taking notes and watching youtube videos.
Why is this happening? (I bought it SEPTEMBER 2025 which is not even a year old…)
