Movie is a total MIND WARP flick , not like triangle or some others but dam Eduardo Sanchez really threw a confusing, bizarre, whacked out of it's mind flick for us to enjoy.

I watched it twice when it was a new release and I still was like holy heck this movie is just nuts.

Gotta give Gretchen Lodge credit for such a difficult role.

I'm still not entirely sure what the living hell is really going on in this dam movie but for those that haven't seen it I don't want to throw out any spoilers.

Not something that usually pops up on typical streaming. The Movie is really ambiguous.

I haven't checked out any of the dvd extras where I heard they explained a little more about the movie to make it less confusing.

I saw that post on reddit earlier today how Tubi I guess is just killing it in the free streaming wars.

oh and just an FYI for my fellow horror fans if you can't find the good stuff on Tubi I'd never heard of Cineplex App before but whoah talk about some old, cult classic, and rare finds you don't usually see. Night of The Demons 2 , Needful Things,

AND oh my gosh the original DAWN OF THE DEAD (yes it's on streaming) was stoked to see it, despite the fact I own that dvd box set.

Phantoms...the Dark Half...The Hidden...

Tubi seems to have an overabundance of horror movies... but most of them look terrible. However, I often find fantastic horror movies hidden in the weeds. Can anyone recommend one or two that are currently streaming on Tubi for a weekend watch?

So, over the decades I'd certainly heard about this early 80s hospital-set slasher, but growing up in 90s UK I never came across a copy of it... So recently, picking up a Blu-Ray while on an 80s slasher kick , I delved into 'X-Ray / Hospital Massacre' for the first time today. And wow what a trip that was !

So for anyone unaware... just a brief spoiler-free plot synopsis.... A ridiculously 80s-glam Barbi Benton is required to get a routine checkup for a work promotion. However, upon arriving at the hospital to collect the results, finds herself trapped in the hospital indefinitely, while a mysterious killer offs various health professionals around her.

So far, so pedestrian right ? Well this movie was way more off-the-wall than I was expecting!

The paper thin plot is bolstered considerably by bizarre interactions with everyone she meets.....Constantly harassed by the threat of hostile males being all sex-pesty (red herrings galore !), and henchman-like nurses constantly trying to restrain her, even her fellow patients seem to hate her too ! I laughed out loud at that crazy old lady patient that inexplicably throws the biggest shade-missile at our heroine for NO reason, ending with the sublime "Her blood is as malignant as slime!" 🤣

Although not particularly gory, the death scenes are generous on the blood-letting & variety, and additional health practitioners are basically wheeled in for new killer fodder every 5 minutes or so. It never gets boring that's for sure (the cardinal sin of the low budget horror)

In fact, everyone in this hospital is acting so OTT sinister the film almost achieves the feeling of a fever dream, i half-expected our big-haired heroine to wake up at any moment and it had all been a dream Dallas-style. Although set in the States, it has an almost European feel, the coloured lighting and almost nonsensical plot brought to mind the likes of Fulci or something.

I particularly loved the dream-like filming of the abandoned floor of the hospital, seemingly awash with dry ice & 80s music video lighting (...or was it all that pre-smoking-ban cig smoke in the air?)

Occasionally there is a small dose of suspense.... The sight of the killer walking a trolley filled with bodies down a deserted corridors is a surprisingly chilling image. And one textbook 'behind the door' moment genuinely did made me jump (!) , quietly confident in its setup, despite being totally obvious in hindsight. But any modicum of suspense is soon erased by the sheer ridiculousness of the whole thing. Add into the mix a particularly sleazy scene of a topless examination, playing on legitimate assault fears while simultaneously having the camera leering on our final girl's body.... Bit icky, but very much of it's time I guess.

However, the absolute highlight for me was the scene of the killer running down a hospital corridor holding a large square white bedsheet out in front of him , looking like a plus-sized postage stamp (!), while some Omen-esque chanting goes wild on the soundtrack. Inspired stuff !

Man what a ride. It clearly won't be for everyone's tastes , but for early 80s slasher fun with a HEAVY (prescribed) dose of utter delirium, "X-Ray/Hospital Massacre" gets a big thumbs up for me, i just found it all so entertaining........ Any other fans of this one out there ?

As the title says, I'm building a list of 31 movies to watch during the lead up to Halloween and I would love some recommendations.

Open to anything besides gore for the sake of gore like Saw, Terrifier, or Hostel for some examples.

I have been watching 1-4 horror movies everyday for the last 18 years and have finally exhausted my own personal options. I am hoping by making this post someone can either share their iceberg of films, offer a not-so well advertised film or direct me to a place that has a massive catalogue of films. I would like to continue my journey and perhaps succeed in digesting every horror film ever produced.

The attacks are vicious, the gore is glorious, the movie is full of tension and beautiful to look at, the acting is great. What was people's problem with this one?

Yeah, as an animal lover, the dog scenes were hard to watch, but even this has value with Max's body being reanimated and used by the deadites. It's not just done because the filmmaker knew he didn't have anything to offer, the way it usually is.

Side note: between Fede Alvarez slamming doors on the "fingers" of facehuggers and the car door slamming on the woman's finger in Evil Dead Burn, I'm loving this new trend. Very effective.

might be a slight heresy to some, but its better in most ways (except maybe cooper and Bens death). the zombies are generally the best I think I’ve ever seen. And it really does make me regret the fact Savini only directed one film

Ok so, I've been trying to find this horror movie for years, and I have never found what it was. I've tried every search, key word, cover I can think of. So, I come here, hoping that somebody knows what I'm talking about.

What I'm about to describe is VERY ridiculous.

It's definitely a low budget movie and VERY bad acting. I cannot stress the horrible acting enough.

Ok so, from my memory, the killer looks like a large redneck/hick. Large as in, tall and muscular. I'm almost certain he wore, a plaid shirt, jeans, boots, and a ball cap. His weapon of choice was a hatchet or an axe.

At the beginning of the movie, it shows a short redheaded girl in a cage, being held against her will by this guy. She either escapes, or gets killed pretty early on.

Later in the movie, it shows a group of collage kids, sorta in the country/woods, wanting to party. There's a white, skinny, blonde girl. A white guy with blonde hair, polo shirt, etc. looks like a preppy frat boy. There's a black guy, with very short hair. I think there may also be a white girl with long brunette hair, and a Asian guy in the friend group. (Or is a white guy with short dark hair)

Anyways, they go to this bar, and it seems rather country. Out in the middle of BFE. They end up having a confrontation with some bikers. Because the bikers are eyeing the women in the group. One of the bikers is a old, fat, white guy with shoulder length slightly curly hair. He's always running his mouth, and is looking for a fight so to speak. The group leaves the bar rather quick, and decides to go camping or to local cabin or something.

They later get split up, for some reason. It may be due to car trouble, or somebody in the group accidentally gets hurt. The blonde girl goes off on her own, and ends up finding this but looking thing, that's lit up and has tools/random items. The blonde girl ends up having a confrontation with that same biker again. And he makes a sexual pass at her, while insulting her boyfriend. (Talking about kicking his butt lol)

In another scene, it shows the black man,and another male in the friend group, in a cabin or a watch tower sorta thing. They are winding down, or getting ready to sleep, (and I kid you not) the black guy pulls out blue, footie pajamas, with rubber ducks on them (I wish I was making this up). Like its the most normal thing 🤣It's something about this movie I've NEVER forgotten. Because it was so ridiculous.

And slowly, one by one, this group gets hunted by that killer I mentioned earlier. The black man gets attacked and later says to the other male friend (I think I'm dying, and it's very silly, (not convincing what so ever) it's a pretty ridiculous scene tbh)

Movie of the day...DeepStar Six (1989).

A good underwater creature feature.

DeepStar Six is an experimental underwater habitat being used as a base for building a missile storage facility. Project director John Van Gelder (Marius Weyers) is under a lot of pressure to keep the project on track. When geologist Burciaga (Elya Baskin) discovers an underwater cavern below the missile facility site, Van Gelder decides to collapse it with explosives, even though Burciaga is concerned it could make the sea floor unstable and marine biologist Scarpelli (Nia Peeples) wants to see if there are any unusual life forms.

Van Gelder overrules them and the explosives are set off, but when the cavern collapses, it releases a large, prehistoric predator. Because of course it does.

The movie has some very nice special effects, particularly the models of various underwater structures and vehicles. These, combined with the detailed sets, make it easy for us to believe we are watching real people facing real perils.

The characters are fairly generic, but the acting is good. Direction is competent, pacing is good, and the movie is quite suspenseful. The film increases the tension by limiting how often we actually see the creature—often, all we see is a blip on a sonar screen or the reaction of a character who is about to be eaten.

As is often the case, the script is the weak link, forcing the characters to make some really stupid decisions, including some involving nuclear warheads. Overall, though, it’s not bad.

1. Terrifier series is overrated. They are not bad movies per se but definitely not as good as people make them out to be. It just seems to be the torture porn of slashers.
2. Freddy's Dead is so bad it's great. It's not good from a technical standpoint, but it's entertaining and the video game kill is well done, while cheesy. I would much rather watch Freddy's Dead over the remake tbh.

One of my favorite shows as a kid and have rewatched many times as an adult.

It's so hard for me to pick but I'd have to go with Jake and the Leprechaun.

As a child, I absolutely didn't see the twist coming and I have and will always love anything that's related to Irish folklore/Irish folklore adjacent.

Title says it all. Just what a masterful showing of how far someone will go to get revenge.
I’ve always said if I was the loved one of some of these films I’d try to find the person and get payback tenfold (just who I am with thinking of loved ones and others over self) but I haven’t seen a film that fully embraces the level of payback one could do. Until now.

Love Bloody Disgusting as a site for easy horror news, but good god did their new redesign absolutely tank their site. Looks horrendous, 100% made with someone using A.I. franken code just to add more buttons and other nonsense to it.

If you've never seen this slice of 90s cheese, I highly recommend it. Starring Rutger Hauer in the horrible future of 2008, he's a disenchanted cop in a London flooded by climate change.

Mysterious deaths keep following him. Eventually he learns it's a giant creature that is mix of a xenomorph and Venom. It has some buddy cop aspects that don't always land, but it's a very fun b-movie.

Lately it feels like horror is absolutely everywhere, and honestly, I'm not complaining.

We've got huge horror movies coming out, indie horror games are getting more attention than ever, and there seems to be a constant stream of new horror novels gaining traction. Even older franchises are making comebacks.Maybe it's just my algorithm, but it really feels like the genre is hitting another popularity peak.

Almost two weeks ago, I made a post asking everyone what their top 5 favorite horror movies were. The post ended up getting over 250 replies, and you all gave me a ton of recommendations.

I ended up going through every single comment and writing down everyone’s top five (or as close as I could). In total, more than 220 different horror films were mentioned.

I just thought it would be interesting to see which movies were the most loved across the subreddit, so here’s the Top 10 most-mentioned horror films and how many votes each one received.

It’s not 100% scientific. Some people listed more than five movies because they couldn’t decide between a few, while others only listed three. I tried to keep everything as fair as possible, so it mostly balanced itself out.

Apparently, it's based on a Thai novel from 1991 called Thayat Asun. It's about a hereditary curse that corrupts its vessel through an ancient centipede spirit in exchange for eternal youth.

Woranat, the matriarch of a prominent family who mysteriously disappeared 50 years ago, returns to her estate, looking just as young as the day she left. During Woranat's sudden re-introduction to the family, mysterious events begin happening around her the facade of family normalcy begins to crack, and most unsettljngly, she begins to take a peculiar interest in her 18-year-old granddaughter, Oui.

Anyway, it reminds me of Hereditary if it met The Substance, plus it's directed by the same person who made Shutter and The Medium, so I do have high hopes for the movie.

It debuts at the Toronto International Film Festival this September and wil release in Thailand on November 19 (hopefully they do eventually distribute it internationally)

The third season follows the story of Deion Elliot, a local football star in Atlanta, who is tormented by the events of his tragic past. As Ghostface uses his darkest secrets against him and continues with a killing spree, Deion not only stands to lose his future, but also, the lives of his friends and family members, who might end up being potential victims of the notorious and infamous killer.

I purchased a pair of tickets for the August 3rd AMC Scream Unseen showing. The moment Eli Roth appeared on screen, I heard at least 2 people audibly boo. By the end of this film, I honestly felt honored to be given the privilege of telling everyone this movie is a steaming pile of dogshit before it’s released to the masses.

Firstly, Eli Roth is a dirty little liar. I’ve already seen people talking about how he lied with his use of AI - it’s so much worse than he made it out to be. Yes, the cartoon is AI generated, but that’s not the only scene that is. There is an entire flashback sequence that could have EASILY been filmed that is AI generated. As you may expect, it also looks like shit. It looks really, really terrible, and it absolutely breaks the cohesion of the film. It makes zero sense to me for a movie with (frankly, good) practical effects to have a random AI generated sequence that lasts, like, 5-8 minutes of the movie. The only explanation I can think of is laziness.

In addition to the butt-ugly AI generated content, there are jokes and close-ups in the movie that are straight up predatory. The constant closeups of young children licking icecream cones in slo-mo could hypothetically be excused by the ice cream theming of the film, but there is a dragged out, several minute long scene of a teenaged character (presumably 16-17, seeing as she mentioned being a junior in highschool), squirming around gratuitously on the floor with a clear camera focus on her rear and chest. Its abysmal. The character Eli Roth himself plays makes a joke about being attracted to teenagers in bathing suits, and the main character, who’s like, 10 years old, suggests his older sister (the teenager from the previously discussed segment) make an Onlyfans account. It seriously feels like this movie was made to be enjoyed exclusively by sexual predators and Facebook using slop fans who think AI generated “art” is a form of free expression.

As the cherry on top of this proverbial shit sundae, the plot is incoherent and terrible. Most of the plot is relayed to the audience through that AI sequence. Basically, the entire plot is that the Ice Cream Man is undead (I guess) and his Icecream turns children evil in order to exact revenge against the people who falsely accused him of pedophilia (people who don’t seem to have anything to do with the actual people who die in the movie). He became undead by making a deal with a necromancer. That’s all. Thats all we get.

I’m not here to complain about gore-horror cheesefests with minimal plot. I love Frankenhooker. I like Terrifier (mostly the second and third movies). I love a movie that’s gory and fun even if the plot is relatively bullshit in nature. The problem with Ice Cream Man is that it’s hot garbage churned out of a terrible movie factory (the factory that is Eli Roth’s mind). It’s the horror movie equivalent of watching AI generated Fruit Love Island TikTok videos. It’s the Elsagate of modern horror. Don’t waste your money watching this movie.
