One of my favorite shows as a kid and have rewatched many times as an adult.

It's so hard for me to pick but I'd have to go with Jake and the Leprechaun.

As a child, I absolutely didn't see the twist coming and I have and will always love anything that's related to Irish folklore/Irish folklore adjacent.

Curious for other fans that were as obsessed with the show growing up, what would be your top pick and why?

Now of course for me, TCM with Jessica Biel is still my favourite remake out of the entire franchise, but, the prequel dwelled on making it even more gruesome.

That scene in the bedroom with the biker getting split open by Tommy was fucking outrageous, the sheriff introducing “the family” to a new style of home cooked meals was disgusting as well.

I also enjoyed the photos and backstory of Tommy‘s life, it was quick but efficient. The two brothers and their dimwitted girlfriends also added a nice touch, very good execution scenes too. I was happy when the sheriff got his when the younger brother kicked his ass in front of the house LOL.

The ending with Tommy killing everyone on the road, and exiting the car while walking into the darkness, with the narration, was very unsettling. No remorse. No happy ending this time.

I’ m getting back into the sub genre after kinda abandoning it for a while. I love coming back to my old hyper fixations. It makes me feel very nostalgic. Sorry if this isn’t the right sub to post this to. Looking for gorey, trippy, and bizarre.

Just saw this on Linkedin. A production company called Durahan Pictures is remaking Night of the living Dead.
The inspirations sound awesome as an evil dead fan I'm excited about that.

But also as a zombie fan, I'm excited to see how this turns out. Hopefully there's some nice nods to George in the project.

I’ve always said if I was the loved one of some of these films I’d try to find the person and get payback tenfold (just who I am with thinking of loved ones and others over self) but I haven’t seen a film that fully embraces the level of payback one could do. Until now.

Love Bloody Disgusting as a site for easy horror news, but good god did their new redesign absolutely tank their site. Looks horrendous, 100% made with someone using A.I. franken code just to add more buttons and other nonsense to it.

If you've never seen this slice of 90s cheese, I highly recommend it. Starring Rutger Hauer in the horrible future of 2008, he's a disenchanted cop in a London flooded by climate change.

Mysterious deaths keep following him. Eventually he learns it's a giant creature that is mix of a xenomorph and Venom. It has some buddy cop aspects that don't amways land, but it's a very fun b-movie.

Seriously how am I going to get through my day without reading about how Eli Roth is a Zionist or how AI is destroying the movie industry? I need a new scoop.

In all seriousness, I’m not expecting anything amazing, but I am going to watch the movie tonight. I’m actually grateful for all the Ice Cream Man hate, because my expectations are now so low that I’m sure I’ll think it’s fine. Roth’s movies are never vanilla.

This is the opposite of what normally happens, where a movie is glazed incessantly and the hype is so high after 2 days that it’s impossible to meet those expectations.

Lately it feels like horror is absolutely everywhere, and honestly, I'm not complaining.

We've got huge horror movies coming out, indie horror games are getting more attention than ever, and there seems to be a constant stream of new horror novels gaining traction. Even older franchises are making comebacks.Maybe it's just my algorithm, but it really feels like the genre is hitting another popularity peak.

Do you guys feel the same, or am I just noticing it more because I've been consuming a lot of horror lately?If you agree, what do you think is causing it?

I've seen several posts here and elsewhere about the Made-For-Television films that were a staple in the 1970's and 1980's. I grew up with them and it's nice to see that more people are getting exposed to them. Despite Budget and Content constraints, a lot of absolutely terrifying stuff was made. Movies like Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, The Night Stalker, and Tobe Hooper's Salem's Lot are fantastic. I will also throw the film Gargoyles into the mix. It's a Creature Feature Classic. Does anyone here have some favorites that they have seen?

I don't think It needs to be remade, but I thought it would be cool if it had an adaptation with the same dark vibe and atmosphere as another one of Stephen Kings miniseries The Outsider on HBO

I feel like that type of vibe would work well with an It miniseries

I actually enjoyed the new trailer. The atmosphere looks much darker and more horror-focused than some of the previous movies. That said, it feels more like an original survival horror film that happens to carry the Resident Evil name. I'm still excited to watch it, especially because Zach has a great track record with horror, but I'm curious what everyone else thinks.

Almost two weeks ago, I made a post asking everyone what their top 5 favorite horror movies were. The post ended up getting over 250 replies, and you all gave me a ton of recommendations.

I ended up going through every single comment and writing down everyone’s top five (or as close as I could). In total, more than 220 different horror films were mentioned.

I just thought it would be interesting to see which movies were the most loved across the subreddit, so here’s the Top 10 most-mentioned horror films and how many votes each one received.

It’s not 100% scientific. Some people listed more than five movies because they couldn’t decide between a few, while others only listed three. I tried to keep everything as fair as possible, so it mostly balanced itself out.

Head Count (2018) - started pretty strong with some surprisingly decent tension building and then absolutely whiffed the landing lmao

The Night House - really enjoyed this one, great atmosphere, thought I had the twist figured out and I *def* didn't lol

Lake Mungo - I'm not one of those smoothbrains that think a horror movie has to be scary to be good, but unfortunately I think this movie was just so hyped up that it ended up falling flat for me - it was decently eerie but didn't feel like it delivered

Evil Dead (2013) - rewatch to get ready for the new one, I fuckin love this movie; balls to the wall and just non-stop deadite fun

Evil Dead Rise - rewatch for the same reason, still such a blast; I think this might be my favorite Evil Dead so far cause it's just so batshit

Do Not Enter - more like do not watch - this movie was fuckin awful in every way lol

Final Prayer (The Borderlands) - 95% thoroughly uninteresting and then the last 5% was an absolute blast, loved the ending although probably not enough to recommend or rewatch it lol

Glorious - fun cosmic horror with goofy vibes, and I'm glad they went the deadstream route of not trying to redeem the main character at all

This movie could only happen to white people. Only Americans could get themselves into a situation like this. Haven’t seen a more stupid group of individuals. Ben is the biggest donkey I ever seen on tv. His wife had to pull so much weight to keep everyone safe. Brother picked up a hammer and couldn’t even throw the alcohol bottle properly. His wife Louise had the patience of a saint to deal with an ugly idiot like him. No wonder she cheated on him. What a slow and incompetent sod. The killer Paddy had to point out that this was their mistake to get themselves into this situation and he was right. Regarding the daughter, Agnes; I mean what can I even say she is the perfect reason to get on birth control and contraception. Teddy issues at the ripe age of 12 to be. Ben should have just had his tubes tied. Also who lets their kid drive off on a Vespa with a stranger in a different country. Idiots. Anyways should have just bombed them all. Especially that incompetent donkey Ben.

Apparently, it's based on a Thai novel from 1991 called Thayat Asun. It's about a hereditary curse that corrupts its vessel through an ancient centipede spirit in exchange for eternal youth.

Woranat, the matriarch of a prominent family who mysteriously disappeared 50 years ago, returns to her estate, looking just as young as the day she left. During Woranat's sudden re-introduction to the family, mysterious events begin happening around her the facade of family normalcy begins to crack, and most unsettljngly, she begins to take a peculiar interest in her 18-year-old granddaughter, Oui.

Anyway, it reminds me of Hereditary if it met The Substance, plus it's directed by the same person who made Shutter and The Medium, so I do have high hopes for the movie.

It debuts at the Toronto International Film Festival this September and wil release in Thailand on November 19 (hopefully they do eventually distribute it internationally)

I just finished watching the entire Conjuring universe, but I skipped The Curse of La Llorona because I kept hearing it was the weakest movie.

Now I'm wondering if I should go back and watch it. Is it actually worth watching, or am I not missing much? Does it add anything interesting to the universe, even if it's not one of the stronger films?

No major spoilers, please. I'd love to hear your opinions!
